መዝሙር ፹፱

1. Verse 1.፩

   ጸሎት ፡ ዘሙሴ ፡ ዘብእሴ ፡ እግዚአብሔር ። እግዚኦ ፡ ጸወነ ፡ ኮንከነ ፡ ለትውልደ ፡ ትውልድ ።

   A prayer of Moses, the man of God. O Yahweh, you have been a refuge for us to generation after generation.

2. Verse 2.፪

   ዘእንበለ ፡ ይቁም ፡ አድባር ፡ ወይትፈጠር ፡ ዓለም ፡ ወምድር ፤ እምቅድመ ፡ ዓለም ፡ ወእስከ ፡ ለዓለም ፡ አንተ ፡ ክመ ።

   Before the mountains stood and the world and the earth were formed, from everlasting and to everlasting you are the same.

3. Verse 3.፫

   ኢትሚጦ ፡ ለሰብእ ፡ ለኀሳር ፤ ወትቤ ፡ ተመየጡ ፡ ደቂቀ ፡ እጓለ ፡ እመሕያው ።

   Turn not man back to abasement; for you said, “Return, you children of the living.”

4. Verse 4.፬

   እስመ ፡ ዐሠርቱ ፡ ምእት ፡ ዐመት ፡ በቅድሜከ ፡ ከመ ፡ ዕለት ፡ እንተ ፡ ትማልም ፡ ኀለፈት ፤ ወሰዓተ ፡ ሌሊት ።

   For a thousand years in your sight are like the day of yesterday that has passed, and like a watch of the night.

5. Verse 5.፭

   ምኑን ፡ ዐመታት ፡ በቅድሜሆሙ ፤ በጽባሕ ፡ ከመ ፡ ሣዕር ፡ የኀልፍ ።

   Their years shall be as nothing; in the morning they pass away like grass.

6. Verse 6.፮

   በጽባሕ ፡ ይሠርጽ ፡ ወየኀልፍ ፤ ወሰርከሰ ፡ ይወድቅ ፡ የቢሶ ፡ ወአንፂዎ ።

   In the morning it sprouts and passes away; and in the evening it falls, withered and dried up.

7. Verse 7.፯

   እስመ ፡ ኀለቅነ ፡ በመዐትከ ፤ ወደንገፅነ ፡ በመቅሠፍትከ ።

   For we are consumed in your wrath, and dismayed by your chastisement.

8. Verse 8.፰

   ወሤምከ ፡ ኀጢአተነ ፡ ቅድሜከ ፤ ወዓለምነሂ ፡ ውስተ ፡ ብርሃነ ፡ ገጽከ ።

   And you have set our sins before you, and our world also in the light of your face.

9. Verse 9.፱

   እስመ ፡ ኀልቃ ፡ ኵሎን ፡ መዋዕሊነ ፡ ወኀለቅነ ፡ በመቅሠፍትከ ።

   For all our days are consumed, and we are spent in your chastisement.

10. Verse 10.፲

    ወዐመቲነኒ ፡ ከመ ፡ ሳሬት ፡ ይከውና ። ወመዋዕለ ፡ ዐመቲነ ፡ ሰብዓ ፡ ክራማት ፡ ወእመሰ ፡ በዝኃ ፡ ሰማንያ ፡ ዓም ፤ ወፈድፋድንሰ ፡ እምእላ ፡ ጻማ ፡ ወሕማም ። እስመ ፡ ኀለፈት ፡ የዋሃት ፡ እምኔነ ፡ ወተገሠጽነ ።

    And our years become as a spider's web. And the days of our years are seventy years, and if in strength, eighty years; yet the more of them is but toil and affliction. For meekness has passed from us, and we are chastened.

11. Verse 11.፲፩

    መኑ ፡ ያአምር ፡ ኀይለ ፡ መቅሠፍትከ ፤ ወእምግርማ ፡ መዐትከ ፡ ኀልቁ ።

    Who knows the power of your chastisement, and [who can number] your wrath because of the dread of you?

12. Verse 12.፲፪

    ከመዝ ፡ አርኢ ፡ የማነከ ፤ ለምሁራን ፡ ልብ ፡ በጥበብ ።

    So make known your right hand, to those whose hearts are instructed in wisdom.

13. Verse 13.፲፫

    ተመየጥ ፡ እግዚኦ ፡ እስከ ፡ ማእዜኑ ፤ ወተናበብ ፡ በእንተ ፡ አግብርቲከ ።

    Return, O Yahweh; how long? And be entreated concerning your servants.

14. Verse 14.፲፬

    እስመ ፡ ጸገብነ ፡ በጽባሕ ፡ ምሕረተከ ፤ ወተፈሣሕነ ፡ ወተሐሠይነ ፡ በኵሉ ፡ መዋዕሊነ ፤

    For we are filled in the morning with your mercy; and we have rejoiced and been glad in all our days;

15. Verse 15.፲፭

    ወተፈሣሕነ ፡ ህየንተ ፡ መዋዕል ፡ ዘኣሕመምከነ ፤ ወህየንተ ፡ ዐመት ፡ እንተ ፡ ርኢናሃ ፡ ለእኪት ።

    and we have rejoiced in place of the days in which you afflicted us, and in place of the years in which we saw evil.

16. Verse 16.፲፮

    ርኢ ፡ ላዕለ ፡ አግብርቲከ ፡ ወላዕለ ፡ ተግባርከ ፡ እግዚኦ ፤ ወምርሖሙ ፡ ለደቂቆሙ ።

    Look upon your servants and upon your works, O Yahweh, and guide their children.

17. Verse 17.፲፯

    ለይኩን ፡ ብርሃኑ ፡ ለእግዚአብሔር ፡ አምላክነ ፡ ላዕሌነ ፤ [ወይሠርሕ ፡ ለነ ፡ ተግባረ ፡ እደዊነ ፡] ወይሠርሕ ፡ ተግባረ ፡ እደዊነ ።

    Let the light of Yahweh our God be upon us; [and prosper for us the work of our hands;] and prosper the work of our hands.
