መዝሙር ፹
The Psalms 80 · Geʽez & English
- Verse 1.
ፍጻሜ ፡ ዘበእንተ ፡ ማኅበብት ፡ ዘአሳፍ ፡ መዝሙር ፡ ዘኃምስቱ ፡ ሰንበት ።
To the end, concerning the winepresses [maḥbabt]; a psalm of Asaph, for the fifth sabbath.
- Verse 2.
ተፈሥሑ ፡ ለእግዚአብሔር ፡ ዘረድአነ ፤ ወየብቡ ፡ ለአምላከ ፡ ያዕቆብ ።
Rejoice in Yahweh who helps us; shout for joy to the God of Jacob.
- Verse 3.
ንሥኡ ፡ መዝሙር ፡ ወሀቡ ፡ ከበሮ ፤ መዝሙር፡ ሐዋዝ ፡ ምስለ ፡ መሰንቆ ።
Take up a psalm and bring the timbrel, a sweet psalm with the harp.
- Verse 4.
ንፍኁ ፡ ቀርነ ፡ በዕለተ ፡ ሠርቅ ፤ በእምርት ፡ ዕለት ፡ በዓልነ ።
Blow the trumpet at the new moon, on the appointed day of our feast.
- Verse 5.
እስመ ፡ ሥርዐቱ ፡ ለእስራኤል ፡ ውእቱ ፤ ወፍትሑ ፡ ለአምላከ ፡ ያዕቆብ ።
For it is a statute for Israel, and an ordinance of the God of Jacob.
- Verse 6.
ወአቀመ ፡ ስምዐ ፡ ለዮሴፍ ፡ አመ ፡ የሐውር ፡ ብሔረ ፡ ግብጽ ፤ ወሰምዐ ፡ ልሳነ ፡ ዘኢያአምር ።
He appointed it as a testimony for Joseph when he went out through the land of Egypt; he heard a language that he did not know.
- Verse 7.
ወሜጠ ፡ ዘባኖ ፡ እምሕራማቲሆሙ ፤ ወተቀንያ ፡ እደዊሁ ፡ ውስተ ፡ አክፋር ።
He removed his back from their burdens; his hands had served at the basket.
- Verse 8.
ወምንዳቤከ ፡ ጸዋዕከኒ ፡ ወአድኀንኩከ ፤ ወተሰጠውኩከ ፡ በዐውሎ ፡ ኅቡእ ፡ ወአመከርኩከ ፡ በኀበ ፡ ማየ ፡ ቅሥት ።
In your distress you called upon me, and I delivered you; and I answered you in the secret of the storm, and I tested you at the waters of strife.
- Verse 9.
ስምዐኒ ፡ ሕዝብየ ፡ ወእንግርከ ፤ እስራኤል ፡ ወኣስምዕ ፡ ለከ ።
Hear, O my people, and I will speak to you; O Israel, and I will testify to you.
- Verse 10.
እመሰ ፡ ሰማዕከኒ ፡ ኢይከውነከ ፡ አምላከ ፡ ግብት ፤ ወኢትስግድ ፡ ለአምላክ ፡ ነኪር ።
If you will hear me, there shall be no foreign god in you, and you shall not bow down to a strange god.
- Verse 11.
እስመ ፡ አነ ፡ ውእቱ ፡ እግዚአብሔር ፡ አምላክከ ፡ ዘአውፃእኩከ ፡ እምድረ ፡ ግብጽ ፤ አርሕብ ፡ አፉከ ፡ ወእነልኦ ፡ ለከ ።
For I am Yahweh your God, who brought you up out of the land of Egypt; open your mouth wide, and I will fill it.
- Verse 12.
ወኢሰምዑኒ ፡ ሕዝብየ ፡ ቃልየ ፤ ወእስራኤልኒ ፡ ኢያፅምኡኒ ።
But my people did not hear my voice, and Israel gave no heed to me.
- Verse 13.
ወፈነውኩ ፡ ሎሙ ፡ በከመ ፡ ምግባሮሙ ፤ ወሖሩ ፡ በሕሊና ፡ ልቦመ ።
So I sent them away according to their deeds, and they walked in the imaginations of their heart.
- Verse 14.
ሶበሰ ፡ ሰምዑኒ ፡ ሕዝብየ ፡ ቃልየ ፤ ወእስራኤልኒ ፡ ሶበ ፡ ሖሩ ፡ በፍኖትየ ።
If my people had heard my voice, and if Israel had walked in my ways,
- Verse 15.
እምአኅሰርክዎሙ ፡ በኵሉ ፡ ለጸላእቶሙ ፤ ወእምወደይኩ ፡ እዴየ ፡ ዲበ ፡ እለ ፡ ይሣቅይዎሙ ።
I would have humbled their enemies utterly, and laid my hand upon those who afflict them.
- Verse 16.
ጸላእቱሰ ፡ ለእግዚአብሔር ፡ ሐሰውዎ ፤ ወይከውን ፡ ጊዜሆሙ ፡ እስከ ፡ ለዓለም ።
The enemies of Yahweh lied to him, and their time shall be forever.
- Verse 17.
ወሴሰዮሙ ፡ ሥብሐ ፡ ስርናይ ፤ ወአጽገቦሙ ፡ መዓረ ፡ እምኰኵሕ ።
And he fed them with the fat of wheat, and satisfied them with honey out of the rock.
