- Verse 1.
ዘበኣእምሮ ፡ ዘአሳፍ ። ለምንት ፡ ገደፍከኒ ፡ እግዚኦ ፡ ለዝሉፉ ፤ ወተመዓዕከ ፡ መዐተከ ፡ ላዕለ ፡ አባግዐ ፡ መርዔትከ ።
Of understanding, of Asaph. Why have you cast me off forever, O Yahweh, and your wrath is kindled against the sheep of your flock?
- Verse 2.
ተዘከር ፡ ማኅበረከ ፡ ዘአቅደምከ ፡ ፈጢረ ፡ ወአድኀንከ ፡ በትረ ፡ ርስትከ ፤ ደብረ ፡ ጽዮን ፡ ዘኀደርከ ፡ ውስቴታ ።
Remember your congregation, which you acquired of old, which you fashioned and redeemed as the rod of your inheritance; Mount Zion, in which you have dwelt.
- Verse 3.
አንሥእ ፡ እዴከ ፡ ዲበ ፡ ትዕቢቶሙ ፡ ለዝሉፉ ፤ መጠነከ ፡ አሕሠመ ፡ ፀራዊ ፡ ዲበ ፡ ቅዱሳኒከ ።
Lift up your hand against their pride forever; how greatly the enemy has done evil against your holy ones.
- Verse 4.
ወተዘሀሩ ፡ ጸላእትከ ፡ በማእከለ ፡ በዓልከ ፤ ወረሰዩ ፡ ትእምርቶሙ ፡ ትእምርተ ፡ ዘኢያአምሩ ።
And your foes have boasted in the midst of your feast, and they have set up their signs as signs that are not known.
- Verse 5.
ከመ ፡ ዘውስተ ፡ ላዕላይ ፡ ፍኖት ፤
As of one in the upper path;
- Verse 6.
ወከመ ፡ ዕፀወ ፡ ገዳም ፡ በጕድብ ፡ ሰበሩ ፡ ኆኃቲሃ ። ከማሁ ፡ በማሕፄ ፡ ወበመፍጽሕ ፡ ሰበርዋ ።
And as the trees of the forest with an axe they have broken her gates. Likewise with hatchet and with crowbar they have broken her down.
- Verse 7.
ወአውዐዩ ፡ በእሳት ፡ መቅደሰከ ፤ ወአርኰሱ ፡ ማኅደረ ፡ ስምከ ፡ ውስተ ፡ ምድር ።
And they have burned your sanctuary with fire, and they have defiled the dwelling place of your name unto the ground.
- Verse 8.
ወይቤሉ ፡ በልቦሙ ፡ ኀቢሮሙ ፡ በበሕዘቢሆሙ ፤ ንዑ ፡ ንስዐር ፡ ኵሎ ፡ በዓላቲሁ ፡ ለእግዚአብሔር ፡ እምድር ።
And they said in their heart, conspiring together by their tribes, Come, let us abolish all the feasts of Yahweh from the land.
- Verse 9.
ወትእምርቶሂ ፡ ኢናአምር ፤ ወአልቦ ፡ እንከ ፡ ነቢየ ፤ ወንሕነሂ ፡ ኢናአምር ፡ እንከ ።
We do not see our own signs; there is no longer a prophet; and we no longer have any knowledge.
- Verse 10.
እስከ ፡ ማእዜኑ ፡ እንከ ፡ እግዚኦ ፡ ይጼእል ፡ ፀራዊ ፤ ወዘልፈ ፡ ያምዕዖ ፡ ለስምከ ፡ ጸላኢ ።
How long yet, O Yahweh, shall the enemy revile, and the foe forever provoke your name?
- Verse 11.
ለምንት ፡ እግዚኦ ፡ ትመይጥ ፡ እዴከ ፤ ወየማንከ ፡ ማእከለ ፡ ሕፅንከ ፡ ለግሙራ ።
Why, O Yahweh, do you turn back your hand, and your right hand from the midst of your bosom utterly?
- Verse 12.
ወእግዚአብሔር ፡ ንጉሥ ፡ ውእቱ ፡ እምቅድመ ፡ ዓለም ፤ ወገብረ ፡ መድኀኒተ ፡ በማእከለ ፡ ምድር ።
But Yahweh is king from before the world, and he has wrought salvation in the midst of the earth.
- Verse 13.
አንተ ፡ አጽናዕካ ፡ ለባሕር ፡ በኀይልከ ፤ አንተ ፡ ሰበርከ ፡ ርእሰ ፡ ከይሲ ፡ በውስተ ፡ ማይ ።
You strengthened the sea by your power; you broke the head of the dragon upon the waters.
- Verse 14.
ወአንተ ፡ ቀጥቀጥከ ፡ አርእስቲሁ ፡ ለከይሲ ፤ ወወሀብኮሙ ፡ ሲሳዮሙ ፡ ለሕዝበ ፡ ኢትዮጵያ ።
And you crushed the heads of the dragon, and you gave them as food to the people of Ethiopia.
- Verse 15.
አንተ ፡ ሰጠቀ ፡ አፍላገ ፡ ወአንቅዕት ፤ [አንተ ፡ ኢይበስኮሙ ፡ ለአፍላገ ፡ ኤታም ።]
You cleft open the rivers and the springs; [you it was who dried up the rivers of Etham.]
- Verse 16.
ለከ ፡ ውእቱ ፡ መዐልት ፡ ወዚአከ ፡ ይእቲ ፡ ሌሊት ፤ አንተ ፡ ፈጠርከ ፡ ፀሐየ ፡ ወወርኀ ።
Yours is the day, and yours is the night; you made the sun and the moon.
- Verse 17.
ወአንተ ፡ ገበርከ ፡ አድባረ ፡ ወምድረ ፡ ኵሎ ፤ ክረምተ ፡ ወሐጋየ ፡ አንተ ፡ ፈጠርከ ።
And you made the mountains and all the earth; the winter and the summer you fashioned.
- Verse 18.
ወተዘከር ፡ ዘንተ ፡ ተግባረከ ፤ ፀራዊ ፡ ተዐየሮ ፡ ለእግዚአብሔር ፤ ወሕዝብ ፡ አብድ ፡ አምዕዖ ፡ ለስሙ ።
And remember this your work; the enemy has reproached Yahweh, and a foolish people has provoked his name.
- Verse 19.
ኢትመጥዋ ፡ ለአራዊት ፡ ነፍሰ ፡ እንተ ፡ ትገኒ ፡ ለከ ፤ ወኢትርሳዕ ፡ ነፍሰ ፡ ነዳያኒከ ፡ ለዝሉፉ ።
Do not deliver up to the wild beasts the soul that confesses you; and do not forget the soul of your poor ones forever.
- Verse 20.
ወነጽር ፡ ውስተ ፡ ሥርዐትከ ፤ እስመ ፡ በዝኁ ፡ ጽሉማነ ፡ ምድር ፡ አብያተ ፡ ኃጥኣን ።
And look upon your covenant; for the darkened of the earth are filled with the houses of the wicked.
- Verse 21.
ወኢይግባእ ፡ ነዳይ ፡ ተኀፊሮ ፤ ንዳይ ፡ ወምስኪን ፡ ይሴብሑ ፡ ለስምከ ።
Let not the poor man return in shame; the poor and the needy shall praise your name.
- Verse 22.
ተንሥእ ፡ እግዚኦ ፡ ወተበቀል ፡ በቀልየ ፤ ወተዘከር ፡ ዘተዐየሩከ ፡ አብዳን ፡ ኵሎ ፡ አሚረ ።
Arise, O Yahweh, and avenge my cause; and remember the fools who reproach you all the day long.
- Verse 23.
ወኢትርሳዕ ፡ ቃለ ፡ አግብርቲከ ፤ ትዝህርቶሙ ፡ ለጸላእትከ ፡ ይዕረግ ፡ ኀቤከ ፡ በኵሉ ፡ ጊዜ ።
And do not forget the voice of your servants; the boasting of your foes ascends to you at all times.
