መዝሙር ፸፪

1. Verse 1.፩

   መዝሙር ፡ ዘአሳፍ ። ጥቀ ፡ ኄር ፡ እግዚአብሔር ፡ ለእስራኤል ፡ ለርቱዓነ ፡ ልብ ።

   A psalm of Asaph. How exceedingly good is Yahweh to Israel, to the upright of heart.

2. Verse 2.፪

   ሊተሰ ፡ ሕቀ ፡ ክመ ፡ ዘእምተንተና ፡ እገርየ ፤ ወሕቀ ፡ ክመ ፡ ዘእምድኅፀ ፡ ሰኰናየ ።

   But as for me, my feet were very nearly turned aside, and my steps had all but slipped away.

3. Verse 3.፫

   እስመ ፡ ቀናእኩ ፡ ላዕለ ፡ ኃጥኣን ፤ ሰላሞሙ ፡ ርእይየ ፡ ለዐማፅያን ።

   For I was envious of the wicked, when I beheld the peace of the lawless.

4. Verse 4.፬

   እስመ ፡ አልቦሙ ፡ ሣኅተ ፡ ለሞቶሙ ፤ ወኢኀይለ ፡ ለመቅሠፍቶሙ ።

   For there is no sparing in their death, and no firmness in their scourging.

5. Verse 5.፭

   ወበጻማሂ ፡ ኢኮኑ ፡ ከመ ፡ ሰብእ ፤ ወኢተቀሥፉ ፡ ምስለ ፡ ሰብእ ።

   And in toil they are not like other men, nor are they scourged together with men.

6. Verse 6.፮

   ወበእንተዝ ፡ አኀዞሙ ፡ ትዕቢት ፤ ወተዐጸፍዋ ፡ ለኀጢአቶሙ ፡ ወለዐመፃሆሙ ።

   Therefore pride has seized them, and they have wrapped themselves in their iniquity and their oppression.

7. Verse 7.፯

   ወይወፅእ ፡ ከመ ፡ እምአንጕዕ ፡ ኀጢአቶሙ ፤ ወኀለፈ ፡ እምትዕቢተ ፡ ልቦሙ ።

   Their iniquity comes forth as if out of fatness, and it passes beyond the pride of their heart.

8. Verse 8.፰

   ወሐለዩ ፡ ወነበቡ ፡ ከንቶ ፤ ወነበቡ ፡ ዐመፃ ፡ ውስተ ፡ አርያም ።

   They have devised and spoken vanity, and they have spoken oppression unto the heights.

9. Verse 9.፱

   ወአንበሩ ፡ ውስተ ፡ ሰማይ ፡ አፉሆሙ ፤ ወአንሶሰው ፡ ውስተ ፡ ምድር ፡ ልሳኖሙ ።

   They have set their mouth in heaven, and their tongue has gone walking over the earth.

10. Verse 10.፲

    ወበእንተዝ ፡ ይትመየጡ ፡ ሕዝብየ ፡ እምዝየ ፤ ወይትረከብ ፡ ፍጹም ፡ መዋዕል ፡ በላዕሌሆሙ ።

    Therefore my people will turn back from here, and full days will be found upon them.

11. Verse 11.፲፩

    ወይብሉ ፡ እፎ ፡ ያአምር ፡ እግዚአብሔር ፤ ወቦኑ ፡ ዘያአምር ፡ በአርያም ።

    And they say, How does Yahweh know? And is there one who knows in the heights?

12. Verse 12.፲፪

    ናሁ ፡ እሉ ፡ ኃጥኣን ፡ ይትፈግዑ ፡ ወለዓለም ፡ ያጸንዕዋ ፡ ለብዕሎሙ ።

    Behold, these are the wicked, and they prosper; and forever they hold fast to their riches.

13. Verse 13.፲፫

    ወእቤ ፡ ከንቶሁ ፡ እንጋ ፡ አጽደቅዋ ፡ ለልብየ ፤ ወኀፀብኩ ፡ በንጹሕ ፡ እደውየ ።

    And I said, Surely then in vain have I made my heart righteous, and washed my hands in innocence.

14. Verse 14.፲፬

    ወኮንኩ ፡ ቅሡፈ ፡ ኵሎ ፡ አሚረ ፤ ወዘለፋየኒ ፡ በጽባሕ ።

    And I have been scourged all the day long, and my rebuke comes in the morning.

15. Verse 15.፲፭

    ሶበ ፡ እቤሁ ፡ ነበብኩ ፡ ከመዝ ፤ ናሁ ፡ ሠራዕኩ ፡ ለትውልደ ፡ ደቂቅከ ።

    If I had said, I will speak thus, behold, I would have broken faith with the generation of your children.

16. Verse 16.፲፮

    ወተወከፍኩ ፡ ከመ ፡ ኣእምር ፤ ወዝንቱሰ ፡ ጻማ ፡ ውእቱ ፡ በቅድሜየ ።

    And I undertook to understand this, but it was toil before me.

17. Verse 17.፲፯

    እስከ ፡ እበውእ ፡ ውስተ ፡ መቅደሱ ፡ ለእግዚአብሔር ፤ ከመ ፡ ኣእምር ፡ ደኃሪቶሙ ።

    Until I enter into the sanctuary of Yahweh, that I may understand their latter end.

18. Verse 18.፲፰

    ወባሕቱ ፡ በእንተ ፡ ጽልሑቶሙ ፡ አጽናሕኮሙ ፤ ወነፃኅኮሙ ፡ በተንሥኦቶሙ ።

    Yet because of their treachery you have requited them; you have cast them down in their rising up.

19. Verse 19.፲፱

    እፎ ፡ ኮኑ ፡ ለሙስና ፡ ግብተ ፡ ኀልቁ ፡ ወተሐጕሉ ፡ በእንተ ፡ ኀጢአቶሙ ።

    How have they come to ruin! Suddenly they have failed and perished because of their iniquity.

20. Verse 20.፳

    ከመ ፡ ዘንቃህ ፡ እምንዋም ፡ እግዚኦ ፡ በሀገርከ ፡ አኅስር ፡ ራእዮሙ ።

    As one who awakes out of sleep, O Yahweh, in your city you will bring their image to nothing.

21. Verse 21.፳፩

    እስመ ፡ ውዕየ ፡ ልብየ ፡ ወተመስወ ፡ ኵልያትየ ። ወአንሰ ፡ ምኑን ፡ ወኢያእምርኩ ፤

    For my heart was kindled, and my inward parts were melted; and I was brought low and did not understand;

22. Verse 22.፳፪

    ወኮንኩ ፡ ከመ ፡ እንስሳ ፡ በኀቤከ ።

    And I was like a beast before you.

23. Verse 23.፳፫

    ወአንሰ ፡ ዘልፈ ፡ ምስሌከ ፤ አኀዝከኒ ፡ እዴየ ፡ ዘየማን ።

    Yet I am continually with you; you have held my right hand.

24. Verse 24.፳፬

    ወበምክረ ፡ ዚአከ ፡ መራሕከኒ ፤ ወምስለ ፡ ስብሐት ፡ ተወከፍከኒ ፤

    And by your counsel you have guided me, and with glory you have received me;

25. Verse 25.፳፭

    ምንተ ፡ ብየ ፡ ተሀሉ ፡ ውስተ ፡ ሰማይ ፤ ወምንተ ፡ እፈቅድ ፡ ኀቤከ ፡ ውስተ ፡ ምድር ።

    What have I in heaven, and what do I desire from you upon the earth?

26. Verse 26.፳፮

    ኀልቀ ፡ ልብየ ፡ ወሥጋየ ፡ በአምላከ ፡ መድኀኒትየ ፡ እግዚአብሔር ፡ መክፈልትየ ፡ ለዓለም ።

    My heart and my flesh have failed, in God my Savior; Yahweh is my portion forever.

27. Verse 27.፳፯

    እስመ ፡ ናሁ ፡ እለ ፡ ይርሕቁ ፡ እምኔከ ፡ ይትሐጐሉ ፤ ወሠረውኮሙ ፡ ለኵሎሙ ፡ እለ ፡ ይዜምዉ ፡ እምኔከ ።

    For behold, those who go far from you shall perish; you have rooted out all who play the harlot away from you.

28. Verse 28.፳፰

    ሊተሰ ፡ ተሊወ ፡ እግዚአብሔር ፡ ይኄይሰኒ ፤ ወትውክልትየኒ ፡ ላዕለ ፡ እግዚአብሔር ፤ ከመ ፡ እንግር ፡ ኵሎ ፡ ስብሐቲሁ ። በአናቅጺሃ ፡ ለወለተ ፡ ጽዮን ።

    But as for me, to cleave to Yahweh is good for me; and my trust is upon Yahweh, that I may declare all his praise, in the gates of the daughter of Zion.
