- Verse 1.
ዘዳዊት ፡ ዘወልደ ፡ አሚናዳብ ፡ ለእለ ፡ አቅደሙ ፡ ተፄውዎ ። ኪያከ ፡ ተወከልኩ ፡ እግዚኦ ፡ ወኢይትኀፈር ፡ ለዓለም ።
Of David, of the son of Aminadab, of those who were the first to be taken captive. In you I have trusted, O Yahweh, and I shall not be put to shame forever.
- Verse 2.
ወበጽድቅከ ፡ አንግፈኒ ፡ ወባልሐኒ ፤ አፅምእ ፡ እዝነከ ፡ ኀቤየ ፡ ወፍጡነ ፡ አድኅነኒ ።
And in your righteousness deliver me and rescue me; incline your ear to me and save me quickly.
- Verse 3.
ኩነኒ ፡ አምላኪየ ፡ ወመድኀንየ ፡ ውስተ ፡ ብሔር ፡ ጽኑዕ ፡ ከመ ፡ ታድኅነኒ ፤ እስመ ፡ ኀይልየ ፡ ወጸወንየ ፡ አንተ ።
Be for me, O my God and my Savior, in a strong land, that you may save me; for you are my strength and my refuge.
- Verse 4.
አምላኪየ ፡ አድኅነኒ ፡ እምእደ ፡ ኃጥኣን ፤ ወእምእደ ፡ ዐመፂ ፡ ወገፋዒ ።
O my God, deliver me from the hand of the wicked; and from the hand of the transgressor and the oppressor.
- Verse 5.
እስመ ፡ አንተ ፡ ተስፋየ ፡ እግዚኦ ፤ እግዚእየ ፡ ተሰፈውኩከ ፡ እምንእስየ ።
For you are my hope, O Yahweh; O my Lord, I have hoped in you from my youth.
- Verse 6.
ወብከ ፡ ጸናዕኩ ፡ በውስተ ፡ ከርሠ ፡ እምየ ። ወበውስተ ፡ ማኅፀን ፡ እንተ ፡ ከደንከኒ ።
And in you I was strengthened from the womb of my mother; and from the belly you covered me.
- Verse 7.
ወአንተ ፡ ዝክርየ ፡ በኵሉ ፡ ጊዜ ። ከመ ፡ ኳሄላ ፡ ኮንክዎሙ ፡ ለብዙኃን ። ወአንተ ፡ ረዳእየ ፡ ወኀይልየ ።
And you are my remembrance at all times. As a marvel I have become to many. And you are my helper and my strength.
- Verse 8.
ምላእ ፡ አፉየ ፡ ስብሐቲከ ፤ ከመ ፡ እሴብሕ ፡ አኰቴተከ ፡ ወኵሎ ፡ አሚረ ፡ ዕበየ ፡ ስብሐቲከ ።
Let my mouth be filled with your praise; that I may praise your honor, and all the day the greatness of your glory.
- Verse 9.
ኢትግድገኒ ፡ በመዋዕለ ፡ ርሥእየ ፤ ወአመሂ ፡ ኀልቀ ፡ ኀይልየ ፡ ኢትኅድገኒ ፡ አምላኪየ ።
Do not cast me off in the days of my old age; and even when my strength fails, do not forsake me, O my God.
- Verse 10.
እስመ ፡ ነበቡ ፡ ላዕሌየ ፡ ጸላእትየ ፤ ወእለሂ ፡ የኀሥዋ ፡ ለነፍስየ ፡ ተማከሩ ፡ ኅቡረ ፡
For my enemies have spoken against me; and those who seek my soul have plotted together,
- Verse 11.
ወይቤሉ ፡ ኀደጎ ፡ እግዚአብሔር ፤ ዴግንዎ ፡ ወትእኅዝዎ ፤ እስመ ፡ አልቦ ፡ ዘያድኅኖ ።
and they have said, Yahweh has forsaken him; pursue him and seize him; for there is none to deliver him.
- Verse 12.
አምላኪየ ፡ ኢትርሐቅ ፡ እምኔየ ፤ አምላኪየ ፡ ነጽር ፡ ውስተ ፡ ረዲኦትየ ።
O my God, do not be far from me; O my God, look to my help.
- Verse 13.
ይትኀፈሩ ፡ ወይኅሰሩ ፡ እለ ፡ ያስተዋድይዋ ፡ ለነፍስየ ፤ ወይልበሱ ፡ ኀፍረተ ፡ ወኀሳረ ፡ እለ ፡ ይፈቅዱ ፡ ሊተ ፡ ሕማመ ።
Let those who accuse my soul be confounded and put to shame; let those who desire affliction for me be clothed with shame and dishonor.
- Verse 14.
ወአንሰ ፡ ዘልፈ ፡ እሴፈወከ ፡ እግዚኦ ፤ ወእዌስክ ፡ ዲበ ፡ ኵሉ ፡ ስብሐቲከ ።
But as for me, I will hope in you always, O Yahweh; and I will add to all your praise.
- Verse 15.
አፉየ ፡ ይነግር ፡ ጽድቀከ ፡ ወኵሎ ፡ አሚረ ፡ አድኅኖተከ ፤ እስመ ፡ ኢያአምር ፡ ተግባረ ።
My mouth shall tell of your righteousness, and all the day of your salvation; for I do not know [the sum of] its workings.
- Verse 16.
እበውእ ፡ በኀይለ ፡ እግዚአብሔር ፤ እግዚኦ ፡ እዜከር ፡ ጽድቀከ ፡ ባሕቲቶ ።
I will enter in the power of Yahweh; O Yahweh, I will make mention of your righteousness alone.
- Verse 17.
ወመሀርከኒ ፡ አምላኪየ ፡ እምንእስየ ፤ እስከ ፡ ይእዜ ፡ እነግር ፡ ስብሐቲከ ።
And you taught me, O my God, from my youth; until now I declare your wondrous works.
- Verse 18.
ወእስከ ፡ እልህቅ ፡ ወእረሥእ ፡ ኢትኅድገኒ ፡ አምላኪየ ፤ እስከ ፡ እነግረ ፡ መዝራዕተከ ፡ ለትውልድ ፡ ዘይመጽእ ። ኀይለከኒ ፡ ወጽድቀከኒ ።
And until I grow old and aged, do not forsake me, O my God; until I declare your arm to the generation that is to come, your power and your righteousness.
- Verse 19.
እግዚኦ ፡ እስከ ፡ አርያም ፡ ገበርከ ፡ ዐቢያተ ። እግዚኦ ፡ መኑ ፡ ከማከ ።
O Yahweh, even to the heights you have done great things. O Yahweh, who is like you?
- Verse 20.
እስመ ፡ አርአይከኒ ፡ ሕማመ ፡ ወምንዳቤ ፡ ብዙኀ ፤ ወተመየጥከኒ ፡ ወአሕየውከኒ ፤ ወእምቀላየ ፡ ምድር ፡ ካዕበ ፡ አውፃእከኒ ።
For you have shown me affliction and much distress; and you turned back to me and revived me; and from the depths of the earth you brought me up again.
- Verse 21.
ወአብዛኅኮ ፡ ለጽድቅከ ፡ ወገባእከ ፡ ታስተፌሥሐኒ ፤ ወእምቀላየ ፡ ምድር ፡ ካዕበ ፡ አውፃእከኒ ።
And you have multiplied your righteousness, and turning again you have made me glad; and from the depths of the earth you brought me up again.
- Verse 22.
ወአነሂ ፡ እገኒ ፡ ለከ ፡ በንዋየ ፡ መዝሙር ፡ ለጽድቅከ ፤ እዜምር ፡ ለከ ፡ አምላኪየ ፡ በመሰንቆ ፡ ቅዱሰ ፡ እስራኤል ።
And I too will be subject to you with instruments of music, for your righteousness; I will sing to you, O my God, with the harp, O Holy One of Israel.
- Verse 23.
ይትፌሥሓኒ ፡ ከናፍርየ ፡ ሶበ ፡ እዜምር ፡ ለከ ፤ ወለነፍስየኒ ፡ አንተ ፡ አድኀንካ ።
My lips shall rejoice when I sing to you; and my soul also, which you have redeemed.
- Verse 24.
ወዓዲ ፡ ልሳንየ ፡ ያነብብ ፡ ጽድቀከ ፡ ኵሎ ፡ አሚረ ፤ ሶበ ፡ ተኀፍሩ ፡ ወኀስሩ ፡ እለ ፡ የኀሡ ፡ ሊተ ፡ እኩየ ።
And my tongue also shall speak of your righteousness all the day; when those who seek evil for me are confounded and put to shame.
