መዝሙር ፯

1. Verse 1.፩

   መዝሙር ፡ ዘዳዊት ፤ ዘዘመረ ፡ ለእግዚአብሔር ፡ በእንተ ፡ ነገረ ፡ ኩዝ ፡ ወልደ ፡ አሚናዳብ ።

   A psalm of David, which he sang to Yahweh concerning the words of Cush son of Aminadab.

2. Verse 2.፪

   እግዚኦ ፡ አምላክየ ፡ ብከ ፡ ተወከልኩ ፡ ወኢትግድፈኒ ፤ ወአድኅነኒ ፡ እምኵሎሙ ፡ እለ ፡ ሮዱኒ ፡ ወባልሐኒ ።

   O Yahweh my God, in you I have trusted; do not forsake me, and save me from all those who pursue me, and deliver me;

3. Verse 3.፫

   ከመ ፡ ኢይምስጥዋ ፡ ከመ ፡ አንበሳ ፡ ለነፍስየ ፤ እንዘ ፡ አልቦ ፡ ዘያድኅን ፡ ወዘይባልሕ ።

   lest he seize my soul like a lion, while there is none to save and none to deliver.

4. Verse 4.፬

   እግዚኦ ፡ አምላክየ ፡ እመሰ ፡ ከመዝ ፡ ገበርኩ ፤ ወእመኒቦ ፡ ዐመፃ ፡ ውስተ ፡ እደውየ ።

   O Yahweh my God, if I have done this thing, or if there be iniquity in my hands,

5. Verse 5.፭

   ወእመኒ ፡ ፈደይክዎሙ ፡ ለእለ ፡ ይፈድዩኒ ፡ እኩየ ፤ ለያውድቁኒ ፡ ጸላእትየ ፡ ዕራቅየ ።

   or if I have repaid evil to those who repaid me, then let me fall empty before my enemies.

6. Verse 6.፮

   ወይዴግና ፡ ፀራዊ ፡ ለነፍስየ ፡ ወይርከባ ፤ ወይኪዳ ፡ ውስተ ፡ ምድር ፡ ለሕይወትየ ። ወያኅስሮ ፡ ውስተ ፡ መሬት ፡ ለክብርየ ።

   Let the adversary pursue my soul and overtake it; and let him tread my life down into the ground, and lay my glory in the dust.

7. Verse 7.፯

   ተንሥእ ፡ እግዚኦ ፡ በመዐትከ ፤ ወተለዐል ፡ መልዕልቶሙ ፡ ለጸላእትየ ።

   Arise, O Yahweh, in your anger; and be lifted up above my enemies.

8. Verse 8.፰

   ተንሥእ ፡ እግዚኦ ፡ አምላክየ ፡ በሥርዐት ፡ ዘአዘዝከ ። ወማኅበረ ፡ አሕዛብኒ ፡ የዐውደከ ፤ ወበእንተዝ ፡ ተመየጥ ፡ ውስተ ፡ አርያም ።

   Arise, O Yahweh my God, in the decree which you have commanded. And the assembly of the peoples shall surround you; and for this cause return on high.

9. Verse 9.፱

   እግዚአብሔር ፡ ይኴንኖሙ ፡ ለአሕዛብ ። ፍታሕ ፡ ሊተ ፡ እግዚኦ ፡ በከመ ፡ ጽድቅከ ፤ ወይኩነኒ ፡ በከመ ፡ የዋሃትየ ።

   Yahweh shall judge the peoples. Judge me, O Yahweh, according to your righteousness; and let it be to me according to my innocence.

10. Verse 10.፲

    የኀልቅ ፡ እከዮሙ ፡ ለኃጥኣን ፤ ወታረትዖሙ ፡ ለጻድቃን ፤ ይፈትን ፡ ልበ ፡ ወኵልያተ ፡ እግዚአብሔር ።

    Let the wickedness of the wicked come to an end; and you shall direct the righteous; for Yahweh tries the heart and the reins.

11. Verse 11.፲፩

    አማን ፡ ይረድአኒ ፡ እግዚአብሔር ፤ ዘያድኅኖሙ ፡ ለርቱዓነ ፡ ልብ ።

    Truly Yahweh helps me; who saves the upright in heart.

12. Verse 12.፲፪

    እግዚአብሔር ፡ መኰንነ ፡ ጽድቅ ፡ ኀያል ፡ ወመስተዐግስ ፤ ወኢያምጽእ ፡ መንሱተ ፡ ኵሎ ፡ አሚረ ።

    Yahweh is a righteous judge, strong and patient; and he does not bring down punishment every day.

13. Verse 13.፲፫

    ወእመሰ ፡ ኢተመየጥክሙ ፡ ሰይፎ ፡ ይመልኅ ፤ ቀስቶኒ ፡ ወተረ ፡ ወአስተዳለወ ።

    And if you do not turn, he will whet his sword; he has bent his bow and made it ready.

14. Verse 14.፲፬

    ወአስተዳለወ ፡ ቦቱ ፡ ሕምዘ ፡ ዘይቀትል ፤ ወአሕጻሁኒ ፡ ለእለ ፡ ይነዲ ፡ ገብረ ።

    And in it he has prepared the instruments of death that kill; he has made his arrows for those who burn.

15. Verse 15.፲፭

    ናሁ ፡ ሐመ ፡ በዐመፃ ፤ ፀንሰ ፡ ጻዕረ ፡ ወወለደ ፡ ኃጢአተ ።

    Behold, he has travailed with iniquity; he has conceived trouble and brought forth sin.

16. Verse 16.፲፮

    ግበ ፡ ከረየ ፡ ወደሐየ ፤ ወይወድቅ ፡ ውስተ ፡ ግብ ፡ ዘገብረ ።

    He dug a pit and hollowed it out; and he shall fall into the pit which he made.

17. Verse 17.፲፯

    ወይገብእ ፡ ጻማሁ ፡ ዲበ ፡ ርእሱ ፤ ወትወርድ ፡ ዐመፃሁ ፡ ዲበ ፡ ድማሑ ።

    His trouble shall return upon his own head; and his iniquity shall come down upon his own crown.

18. Verse 18.፲፰

    እገኒ ፡ ለእግዚአብሔር ፡ በከመ ፡ ጽድቁ ፤ ወእዜምር ፡ ለስመ ፡ እግዚአብሔር ፡ ልዑል ።

    I will give thanks to Yahweh according to his righteousness; and I will sing to the name of Yahweh the Most High.
