  1. Verse 1.

    ፍጻሜ ፡ መዝሙር ፡ ዘዳዊት ።

    To the end. A psalm of David.

  2. Verse 2.

    ስምዐኒ ፡ እግዚኦ ፡ ጸሎትየ ፡ ዘሰአልኩ ፡ ኀቤከ ፤ እምትሕዝብተ ፡ ጽላኢ ፡ አድኅና ፡ ለነፍስይ ።

    Hear, O Yahweh, my prayer that I have asked of you; from the dread of the enemy deliver my soul.

  3. Verse 3.

    ወሰውረኒ ፡ እምዕሌቶሙ ፡ ለእኩያን ፤ ወእምብዝኆሙ ፡ ለገበርተ ፡ ዐመፃ ።

    And shelter me from the counsel of the wicked; and from the multitude of the workers of iniquity.

  4. Verse 4.

    እለ ፡ አብልኁ ፡ ልሳኖሙ ፡ ከመ ፡ አርዌ ፡ ምድር ፤ ወወሰቁ ፡ ቀስቶሙ ፡ ለገቢረ ፡ መሪር ።

    who have sharpened their tongue like a serpent of the earth; and have bent their bow to do a bitter thing,

  5. Verse 5.

    ከመ ፡ ይቅትልዎ ፡ ለንጹሕ ፡ በጽሚት ፤ ግብተ ፡ ይነድፍዎሙ ፡ ወኢይፈርሁ ።

    to slay the innocent in secret; suddenly they shoot at them and do not fear.

  6. Verse 6.

    ወአጽንዑ ፡ ሎሙ ፡ ነገረ ፡ እኩየ ፡ ወተማከሩ ፡ ይኅብኡ ፡ ሎሙ ፡ መሥገርተ ፤ ወይቤሉ ፡ አልቦ ፡ ዘይሬእየነ ።

    And they have strengthened for themselves an evil word, and have plotted together to hide a snare for themselves; and they have said, There is none who sees us.

  7. Verse 7.

    ወኀሠሥዋ ፡ ለዐመፃ ፡ ወኀልቁ ፡ እዝነ ፡ ይፈትኑ ፡ ወይወጥኑ ፤ ወይበውእ ፡ ሰብእ ፡ በልብ ፡ ዕሙቅ ፤

    And they have searched out iniquity, and have grown weary in the searching; the ear examines and devises, and a man enters into the deep heart;

  8. Verse 8.

    ወይትሌዐል ፡ እግዚአብሔር ። ከመ ፡ ሐጸ ፡ ደቂቅ ፡ ኮነ ፡ መቅሠፍቶሙ ።

    and Yahweh shall be exalted. As an arrow of children, their wound has become.

  9. Verse 9.

    ወደክመ ፡ ለሳኖሙ ፡ በላዕሌሆሙ ፡ ወደንገፁ ፡ ኵሎሙ ፡ እለ ፡ ርእይዎሙ ።

    And their own tongue has grown weak against them, and all who saw them were troubled.

  10. Verse 10.

    ወፈርሁ ፡ ኵሉ ፡ ሰብእ ፡ ወነገሩ ፡ ግብረ ፡ እግዚአብሔር ፤ ወአእመሩ ፡ ምግባሮ ።

    And every man feared, and they declared the work of Yahweh; and they understood his deeds.

  11. Verse 11.

    ይትፌሣሕ ፡ ጻድቅ ፡ በእግዚአብሔር ፡ ወይትዌከል ፡ ቦቱ ፤ ወይከብሩ ፡ ኵሎሙ ፡ ርቱዓነ ፡ ልብ ።

    The righteous one shall rejoice in Yahweh, and shall trust in him; and all the upright of heart shall be honored.
