The Psalms 62 · Geʽez & English
- Verse 1.
መዝሙር ፡ ዘዳዊት ፤ አመ ፡ ሀሎ ፡ ውስተ ፡ ገዳመ ፡ ኢዶምያስ ።
A psalm of David, when he was in the wilderness of Idumea.
- Verse 2.
አምላኪየ ፡ አምላኪየ ፡ እገይስ ፡ ኀቤከ ፤ ጸምአት ፡ ነፍስየ ፡ ለከ ፤ እፎ ፡ እስፋሕ ፡ ለከ ፡ ሥጋየ ፡ በምደረ ፡ በድው ፡ ኀበ ፡ አልቦ ፡ ዕፀ ፡ ወማየ ።
My God, my God, I go early to you; my soul has thirsted for you. How shall I stretch out my flesh to you in a parched land, where there is no tree and no water?
- Verse 3.
ከመዝ ፡ በመቅደስከ ፡ አስተርአይኩከ ፤ ከመ ፡ ኣእምር ፡ ኀይለከ ፡ ወስብሐቲከ ።
Thus in your sanctuary I have appeared before you, that I might know your power and your glory.
- Verse 4.
እስመ ፡ ይኄይስ ፡ እምሐይው ፡ ሣህልከ ፤ ከናፍሪየ ፡ ይሴብሓከ ።
For your mercy is better than life; my lips shall praise you.
- Verse 5.
ከመዝ ፡ እባርከከ ፡ በሕይወትየ ፤ ወበስመ ፡ ዚአከ ፡ ኣነሥእ ፡ እደውየ ።
Thus will I bless you in my life; and in your name I will lift up my hands.
- Verse 6.
ከመ ፡ ዘእምሥቡሕ ፡ ወእምአንጕዕ ፡ ጸግበት ፡ ነፍስይ ፤ ከናፍርየ ፡ ፍሡሓት ፡ ይሴብሓ ፡ ለስምከ ።
As with fat and with marrow my soul is filled; my joyful lips shall praise your name.
- Verse 7.
ወበምስካብየኒ ፡ እዜክረከ ፤ ወጽባሕ ፡ ኣነብብ ፡ ለከ ።
And on my bed I remember you; and at dawn I will speak to you.
- Verse 8.
እስመ ፡ ኮንከኒ ፡ ረዳእየ ፤ ወእትዌከል ፡ በጽላሎተ ፡ ክነፊከ ።
For you have been my helper; and I will trust in the shadow of your wings.
- Verse 9.
ተለወት ፡ ነፍስየ ፡ ድኅሬከ ፤ ሊተሰ ፡ ተወክፈተኒ ፡ የማንከ ።
My soul has followed after you; and your right hand has taken hold of me.
- Verse 10.
እሙንቱሰ ፡ ለከንተ ፡ ኀሠሥዌ ፡ ለነፍስየ ፤ ለይባኡ ፡ ውስተ ፡ መዓምቅቲሃ ፡ ለምድር ።
But they sought my soul in vain; let them go into the depths of the earth.
- Verse 11.
ወይግብኡ ፡ ውስተ ፡ እደ ፡ ሰይፍ ፤ ክፍለ ፡ ቈናጽል ፡ ለይኩኑ ።
And they shall be given over into the hand of the sword; let them become the portion of foxes.
- Verse 12.
ወንጉሥሰ ፡ ይትፌሣሕ ፡ በእግዚአብሔር ፤ ወይከብር ፡ ኵሉ ዘይምሕል ፡ ኪያሁ ። እስመ ፡ ይትፈፀም ፡ አፍ ፡ ዘይነብብ ፡ ዐመፃ ።
But the king shall rejoice in Yahweh; and everyone who swears by him shall be honored. For the mouth that speaks iniquity shall be stopped.
