መዝሙር ፶፱

1. Verse 1.፩

   ፍጻሜ ፡ ዘእለ ፡ ተበዐዱ ፡ ዓዲ ፤ አርአየ ፡ መጽሐፍ ፡ ዘዳዊት ፡ ለትምህርት ። 2 ዘአመ ፡ አውዐየ ፡ መስጴጦምየ ፡ ዘሶርያ ፡ ወሶርያ ፡ ዘሶበል ፡ ወተመይጠ ፡ ዮአብ ፡ ወቀተለ ፡ በቈላቲሆም ፡ ካልኣን ፡ ዐሠርተ ፡ ወ ፪ ፻ ።

   To the end. Concerning those who were yet again estranged; as a memorial inscription, of David, for instruction. 2 When he burned Mesopotamia of Syria and Syria of Zobah, and Joab returned and slew in their valleys twelve thousand others. [number uncertain in Ge’ez]

2. Verse 3.፫

   እግዚኦ ፡ ገደፍከነ ፡ ወነሠትከነ ፤ ቀሠፍከነሂ ፡ ወተሣሀልከነ ።

   O Yahweh, you have cast us off and destroyed us; you have scourged us, yet you have had mercy on us.

3. Verse 4.፬

   አድለቅለቃ ፡ ለምድር ፡ ወሆካ ፤ ወፈወስከ ፡ ቍስላ ፡ እስመ ፡ ምንቀልቀለት ።

   You have shaken the earth and troubled it; yet you have healed its wounds, for it was shaken.

4. Verse 5.፭

   ወአርአይኮሙ ፡ ዕፁባተ ፡ ለሕዝብከ ፤ ወአስተይከነ ፡ ወይነ ፡ መደንግፀ ።

   And you have shown your people hard things; and you have made us drink wine that bewilders.

5. Verse 6.፮

   ወወሀብኮሙ ፡ ትእምርተ ፡ ለእለ ፡ ይፈርሁከ ፤ ከመ ፡ ያምስጡ ፡ እምገጸ ፡ ቀስት ።

   And you have given a sign to those who fear you, that they may escape from before the bow.

6. Verse 7.፯

   ወይድኀኑ ፡ ፍቁራኒከ ፤ አድኅን ፡ በየማንከ ፡ ወስምዐኒ ።

   And let your beloved ones be delivered; save with your right hand and hear me.

7. Verse 8.፰

   እግዚአብሔር ፡ ነበበ ፡ በመቅደሱ ፡ እትፌሣሕ ፡ ወእትካፈል ፡ ምህርካ ፤ ወእሳፈር ፡ አዕጻደተ ፡ ቈላት ።

   Yahweh has spoken in his sanctuary: I will rejoice, and I will divide Shechem; and I will measure out the valley of the tents.

8. Verse 9.፱

   ዚአየ ፡ ውእቱ ፡ ገላዐድ ፡ ወዚአየ ፡ ምናሴ ፤ ወኤፍሬም ፡ ምስማከ ፡ ርእስየ ፤ ወይሁዳ ፡ ንጉሥየ ።

   Mine is Gilead and mine is Manasseh; and Ephraim is the strength of my head; and Judah is my king.

9. Verse 10.፲

   ወሞአብ ፡ ካህን ፡ ተስፋየ ፡ ዲበ ፡ አደምያስ ፡ እሰፍሕ ፡ መካይድየ ፤ ሊተ ፡ ይገንዩ ፡ ኢሎፍሊ ።

   And Moab is the priest of my hope [Ge’ez ካህን “priest”; LXX: washpot]; over Edom I will stretch out my sandal; to me the Philistines are made subject.

10. Verse 11.፲፩

    መኑ ፡ ይወስደኒ ፡ ሀገረ ፡ ጥቅም ፤ ወመኑ ፡ ይመርሐኒ ፡ እስከ ፡ ኢዶምያስ ።

    Who will lead me to the fortified city? And who will guide me as far as Edom?

11. Verse 12.፲፪

    አኮኑ ፡ አንተ ፡ እግዚኦ ፡ ዘገደፍከነ ፤ ወኢትወፅእ ፡ አምላክነ ፡ ምስለ ፡ ኀይልን ።

    Is it not you, O Yahweh, who have cast us off? And you do not go out, O our God, with our armies.

12. Verse 13.፲፫

    ሀበነ ፡ ረድኤተ ፡ በምንዳቤነ ፤ ወከንቱ ፡ ተአምኖ ፡ በሰብእ ።

    Give us help in our affliction; and vain is the trust in man.

13. Verse 14.፲፬

    በእግዚአብሔር ፡ ንገብር ፡ ኀይለ ፤ ወውእቱ ፡ ያኀስሮሙ ፡ ለእለ ፡ ይሣቅዩነ ።

    In Yahweh we shall do mightily; and he it is who will humble those who afflict us.
