- Verse 1.
ፍጻሜ ፡ ኢታማስን ፡ ዘዳዊት ፡ አርአየ ፡ ምስሐፍ ፤ አመ ፡ ፈነወ ፡ ሳኦል ፡ ይዕቀቡ ፡ ቤቶ ፡ ከመ ፡ ይቅትሎ ።
To the end. Do not destroy. Of David, as a memorial inscription; when Saul sent men to watch his house in order to kill him.
- Verse 2.
አድኅነኒ ፡ እግዚኦ ፡ እምፀርየ ፤ ወአንግፈኒ ፡ እምእለ ፡ ቆሙ ፡ ላዕሌየ ።
Deliver me, O Yahweh, from my foes; and rescue me from those who rise up against me.
- Verse 3.
ወባልሐኒ ፡ እምገበርተ ፡ ዐመፃ ፤ ወአድኅነኒ ፡ እምዕድወ ፡ ደም ።
And save me from the workers of iniquity; and deliver me from men of blood.
- Verse 4.
እስመ ፡ ናሁ ፡ ናዐውዋ ፡ ለነፍስየ ፤ ወቆሙ ፡ ላዕሌየ ፡ ኀያላን ፤ አኮ ፡ በአበሳየ ፡ ወአኮ ፡ በጌጋይየ ፡ እግዚኦ ።
For behold, they have hunted my soul; and the mighty have risen up against me; not for my transgression and not for my sin, O Yahweh.
- Verse 5.
ዘእንበለ ፡ ዐመፃ ፡ ሮጽኩ ፡ ወአርታዕኩ ፤ ተንሥእ ፡ ተቀበለኒ ፡ ወርኢ ።
Without iniquity I ran and made myself upright; arise, meet me, and see.

አንተ ፡ እግዚኦ ፡ አምላከ ፡ ኀያላን ፡ ንጉሠ ፡ እስራኤል ፡ ሐውጾሙ ፡ ለኵሎሙ ፡ አሕዛብ ፡ ወተሣሀሎሙ ፤ ወኢትሣሀሎሙ ፡ ለኵሎሙ ፡ ገበርተ ፡ ዐመፃ ።
You, O Yahweh, God of hosts, King of Israel, draw near to all the nations and have mercy on them; but do not have mercy on all the workers of iniquity.
- Verse 7.
ይትመየጡ ፡ ሰርከ ፡ ወይርኀቡ ፡ ከመ ፡ ከልብ ፤ ወይዑዱ ፡ ሀገር ።
Let them return at evening, and let them be hungry like a dog, and let them go about the city.
- Verse 8.
ናሁ ፡ ይነቡ ፡ በአፉሆሙ ፡ ወሰይፍ ፡ ውስተ ፡ ከናፍሪሆሙ ፤ ወዘሂ ፡ ይሰምዖሙ ።
Behold, they speak with their mouth, and a sword is in their lips; and who is it that hears them?
- Verse 9.
ወአንተ ፡ እግዚኦ ፡ ትስሕቆሙ ፤ ወነንኮሙ ፡ ለኵሎሙ ፡ አሕዛብ ።
But you, O Yahweh, will laugh at them; and you will bring to nothing all the nations.
- Verse 10.
ኣምኀፅን ፡ ኀቤከ ፡ ኀይልየ ፤ እስመ ፡ አምላኪየ ፡ ወምስካይየ ፡ አንተ ።
I will commit my strength to you; for you are my God and my refuge.
- Verse 11.
ይብጽሐኒ ፡ ሣህሉ ፡ ለአምላኪየ ፤ አምላኪየ ፡ አርእየኒ ፡ በጸላእትየ ።
Let the mercy of my God come to me; my God has shown me my desire upon my enemies.
- Verse 12.
ኢትቅትሎሙ ፡ ከመ ፡ ኢይርስዑ ፡ ሕገከ ፡ ዘርዎሙ ፡ በኀይልከ ፡ ወአጽድፎሙ ፡ አምላኪየ ፡ ወረዳእየ ።
Do not slay them, lest they forget your law; scatter them by your power and cast them down, my God and my helper.
- Verse 13.
ኀጢአተ ፡ አፉሆሙ ፡ ቃለ ፡ ከናፍሪሆሙ ፤ ወይሠገሩ ፡ በትዕቢቶሙ ። ወበመርገሞሙ ፡ ወእምሐሰቶሙ ፡ ይትዐወቅ ፡ ደኃሪቶሙ ።
The sin of their mouth is the word of their lips; and let them be caught in their pride. And for their cursing and their lying their end shall be made known.
- Verse 14.
ወየኀልቁ ፡ በደኃሪ ፡ መቅሠፍት ፤ ወያእምሩ ፡ ከመ ፡ አምላከ ፡ ያዕቆብ ፡ ይኴንን ፡ እስከ ፡ አጽናፈ ፡ ምድር ።
And they shall be consumed by a final scourge; and they shall know that the God of Jacob rules unto the ends of the earth.
- Verse 15.
ይትመየጡ ፡ ሰርከ ፡ ወይርኀቡ ፡ ከመ ፡ ከልብ ፡ ወይዑዱ ፡ ሀገረ ።
Let them return at evening, and let them be hungry like a dog, and let them go about the city.
- Verse 16.
እሙንቱሰ ፡ ይዘረዉ ፡ ለበሊዕ ፤ ወእስመ ፡ ኢጸግቡ ፡ ወአንጐርጐሩ ።
But they shall be scattered to feed; and because they were not satisfied, they also murmured.
- Verse 17.
ወአንሰ ፡ እሴብሕ ፡ ለኀይልከ ፡ ወእትፌሣሕ ፡ በጽባሕ ፡ በምሕረትከ ፤ እስመ ፡ ኮንከኒ ፡ ምስካይየ ፡ ወጸወንየ ፡ በዕለተ ፡ ምንዳቤየ ።
But I will praise your strength, and I will rejoice at dawn in your mercy; for you have been my refuge and my stronghold in the day of my affliction.
- Verse 18.
ረዳእየ ፡ አንተ ፡ ወለከ ፡ እዜምር ፡ አምላኪየ ፤ እስመ ፡ አምላኪየ ፡ ወምስካይየ ፡ አንተ ፡ አምላኪየ ፡ ውእቱ ፡ ሣህልየ ።
You are my helper, and to you I will make melody, my God; for my God and my refuge are you; my God, he is my mercy.
