- Verse 1.
ፍጻሜ ፡ ኢታማስን ፡ ዘዳዊት ፡ አርአያ ፡ መጽሐፍ ።
To the end. Do not destroy. Of David, as a memorial inscription.
- Verse 2.
እመሰ ፡ አማን ፡ ጽድቀ ፡ ትነቡ ፤ ወርትዐ ፡ ትኴንኑ ፡ ደቂቀ ፡ እጓለ ፡ እምሕያው ።
If you truly speak righteousness, then judge uprightly, you sons of the sons of men.
- Verse 3.
እስመ ፡ በልብክሙ ፡ ኃጢአተ ፡ ትገብሩ ፡ በዲበ ፡ ምድር ፤ ወጽልሑተ ፡ ይፀፍራ ፡ እደዊክሙ ።
For in your heart you work iniquity upon the earth; your hands plait wickedness.
- Verse 4.
ተነክሩ ፡ ኃጥኣን ፡ እማሕፀን ፤ እምከርሥ ፡ ስሕቱ ፡ ወነበቡ ፡ ሐሰተ ።
The wicked are estranged from the womb; from the belly they have gone astray and spoken falsehood.
- Verse 5.
ወመዐቶሙኒ ፡ ከመ ፡ ሕምዘ ፡ አርዌ ፡ ምድር ፤ ከመ ፡ አርዌ ፡ ምድር ፡ ጽምምት ፡ እዘኒሃ ።
And their wrath is like the venom of a serpent; like a deaf serpent that stops its ears,
- Verse 6.
እንት ፡ ኢትሰምዕ ፡ ቃለ ፡ ዘይሬቅያ ፤ እንዘ ፡ ይሠርያ ፡ መሠርይ ፡ ጠቢብ ።
which does not hear the voice of those who charm it, while the wise enchanter casts his spell.
- Verse 7.
እግዚአብሔር ፡ ይሰብር ፡ ስነኒሆሙ ፡ በውስተ ፡ አፉሆሙ ፤ ወይሰብር ፡ እግዚአብሔር ፡ ጥረሲሆሙ ፡ ለአናብስት ።
Yahweh shall break their teeth within their mouth; and Yahweh shall break the jaw-teeth of the lions.
- Verse 8.
ወየኀስሩ ፡ ከመ ፡ ማይ ፡ ዘይትከዐው ፤ ወይዌስቅ ፡ ቀስቶ ፡ እስከ ፡ ያደክዎሙ ።
And they shall come to nothing like water that is poured out; and he shall bend his bow until he wears them out.
- Verse 9.
ወየኀልቁ ፡ ከመ ፡ ሰምዕ ፡ ዘይትመሰው ፤ ወድቀት ፡ እሳት ፡ ወኢርኢክዋ ፡ ለፀሐይ ።
And they shall be consumed like wax that melts; and fire has fallen, and they have not seen the sun.
- Verse 10.
ዘእንበለ ፡ ይትዐወቅ ፡ ሦክክሙ ፡ ሕለተ ፡ ኮነ ፡ ከመ ፡ ሕያዋን ፡ በመዐቱ ፡ ይውኅጠክሙ ።
Before your thorns grow up into a bramble, like the living he will swallow you up in his wrath. [text uncertain]
- Verse 11.
ይትፌሣሕ ፡ ጻድቅ ፡ ሶበ ፡ ይሬኢ ፡ በቀለ ፤ ወይትኀፀብ ፡ እዴሁ ፡ በደመ ፡ ኃጥእ ።
The righteous shall rejoice when he sees vengeance; and he shall wash his hands in the blood of the wicked.
- Verse 12.
ወይብል ፡ ሰብእ ፡ ቦኑ ፡ እንጋ ፡ ፍሬ ፡ ለጻድቅ ፤ ወቦኑ ፡ እንጋ ፡ እግዚአብሔር ፡ ይፈትሕ ፡ ሎሙ ፡ በዲበ ፡ ምድር ።
And a man shall say: Is there then indeed a fruit for the righteous? And is there then indeed a God who judges them upon the earth?
