መዝሙር ፶፬

1. Verse 1.፩

   ፍጻሜ ፡ ስብሐት ፡ ዘበኣእምሮ ፡ ዘዳዊት ።

   To the end. A song of understanding. Of David.

2. Verse 2.፪

   አፅምአኒ ፡ እግዚኦ ፡ ጸሎትየ ፤ ወኢትትሀየየኒ ፡ ስእለትየ ።

   Give ear, O Yahweh, to my prayer; and do not despise my supplication.

3. Verse 3.፫

   ነጽረኒ ፡ ወስምዐኒ ፤ ተከዝኩ ፡ ወደንገፅኩ ፡ ወተዛዋዕኩ ። እምቃለ ፡ ጸላኢ ፡ ወእምሥቃየ ፡ ኃጥእ ፤

   Look upon me and hear me. I am grieved, and I am troubled, and I am tossed about, because of the voice of the enemy and because of the affliction of the wicked one;

4. Verse 4.፬

   እስመ ፡ ሜጥዋ ፡ ለዐመፃ ፡ ላዕሌየ ፡ ወቆሙ ፡ ላዕሌየ ፡ ያመንስዉኒ ።

   for they have turned iniquity against me, and they have risen up against me to afflict me.

5. Verse 5.፭

   ወደንገፀኒ ፡ ልብየ ፡ በላዕሌየ ፤ ወመጽአኒ ፡ ድንጋፄ ፡ ሞት ።

   And my heart is troubled within me, and the terror of death has come upon me.

6. Verse 6.፮

   ፍርሀት ፡ ወረዐድ ፡ አኀዘኒ ፤ ወደፈነኒ ፡ ጽልመት ።

   Fear and trembling have seized me, and darkness has covered me.

7. Verse 7.፯

   ወእቤ ፡ መኑ ፡ ይሁበኒ ፡ ክንፈ ፡ ከመ ፡ ርጌብ ፤ እሥርር ፡ ወኣዕርፍ ።

   And I said: Who will give me wings like a dove? I would fly away and find rest.

8. Verse 8.፰

   ናሁ ፡ አርሐቁ ፡ ተኀጥኦ ፤ ወቤትኩ ፡ ውስተ ፡ በድው ።

   Behold, I would flee far off in escape, and I would lodge in the wilderness.

9. Verse 9.፱

   እሴፈዎ ፡ ለዘ ፡ ያድኅነኒ ፤ እምዕንባዜ ፡ ነፍስየ ፡ ከመ ፡ ዐውሎ ።

   I wait for him who saves me from faintness of my soul and from the storm.

10. Verse 10.፲

    አስጥሞሙ ፡ እግዚኦ ፡ ወምትር ፡ ልሳናቲሆሙ ፤ እስመ ፡ ርኢኩ ፡ ዐመፃ ፡ ወቅሥተ ፡ ውስተ ፡ ሀገር ።

    Drown them, O Yahweh, and cut off their tongues; for I have seen iniquity and strife in the city.

11. Verse 11.፲፩

    እስመ ፡ መዐልተ ፡ ወሌሊተ ፡ ዕጉት ፡ ውስተ ፡ አረፋቲሃ ፤ ዐመፃ ፡ ወስራሕ ፡ ወኀጢአት ፡ ማእከላ ።

    For day and night [trouble] surrounds it upon its walls; iniquity and toil and sin are in its midst.

12. Verse 12.፲፪

    ወኢይርሕቅ ፡ እመርሕባ ፡ ጕሕሉት ።

    And deceit does not depart from its streets.

13. Verse 13.፲፫

    ሶበሰ ፡ ጸላኢ ፡ ጸአለኒ ፡ እምተዐገሥኩ ፤ ውሶበሂ ፡ ጸላኢ ፡ አዕበየ ፡ አፉሁ ፡ ላዕሌየ ፡ እምተኀባእክዎ ።

    For if an enemy had reproached me, I would have endured it; and if it had been an enemy who magnified his mouth against me, I would have hidden myself from him.

14. Verse 14.፲፬

    ወአንተሰ ፡ ብእሲ ፡ ዘከመ ፡ ነፍስየ ፤ ማእምርየ ፡ ወዐውቅየ ።

    But you are a man like my own soul, my familiar and my companion;

15. Verse 15.፲፭

    ዘኅቡረ ፡ አስተጠዐምከ ፡ ሊተ ፡ መባልዕተ ፤ ወነሐውር ፡ ቤተ ፡ እግዚአብሔር ፡ በአሐዱ ፡ ልብ ።

    you who together with me made food sweet to me, and we walked to the house of Yahweh with one heart.

16. Verse 16.፲፮

    ይምጽኦሙ ፡ ሞት ፡ ወይረዱ ፡ ውስተ ፡ ሲኦል ፡ ሕያዋኒሆሙ ፤ እስመ ፡ እኩይ ፡ ማእከሎሙ ፡ ውስተ ፡ አብያቲሆሙ ።

    Let death come upon them, and let them go down alive into Sheol; for wickedness is in their midst, in their houses.

17. Verse 17.፲፯

    ወአንሰ ፡ ጸራኅኩ ፡ ኀበ ፡ እግዚአብሔር ፤ ወአምላኪየ ፡ ሰምዐኒ ።

    But I cried out to Yahweh, and my God heard me.

18. Verse 18.፲፰

    ሰርከ ፡ ወነግሀ ፡ ወመዐልተ ፡ እነግር ፡ ወኣየድዕ ፤ ወይሰምዐኒ ፡ ቃልየ ።

    Evening and morning and at noonday I tell and declare, and he hears my voice.

19. Verse 19.፲፱

    አድኅና ፡ በሰላም ፡ ለነፍስየ ፡ እምእለ ፡ ይትቃረቡኒ ፤ እስመ ፡ ይበዝኁ ፡ እምእለ ፡ ምስሌየ ።

    He has delivered my soul in peace from those who draw near against me; for they were many who were with me.

20. Verse 20.፳

    ይስማዕ ፡ እግዚአብሔር ፡ ወያኅስሮሙ ፤ ዘሀሎ ፡ እምቅድመ ፡ ይትፈጠር ፡ ዓለም ። እስመ ፡ አልቦሙ ፡ ቤዛ ፡ ወኢፈርህዎ ፡ ለእግዚአብሔር ።

    Yahweh will hear and will humble them, he who is from before the world was created. For there is no ransom for them, and they did not fear Yahweh.

21. Verse 21.፳፩

    ወሰፍሐ ፡ እዴሁ ፡ ለፍድይ ። ወአርኰሱ ፡ ሥርዐቶ ።

    And he stretched out his hand for repayment. And they defiled his covenant.

22. Verse 22.፳፪

    ወተናፈቁ ፡ እምዐተ ፡ ገጹ ፡ ወቀርበ ፡ ልቡ ። ወጽሕደ ፡ እምቅብእ ፡ ነገሩ ፡ እሙንቱሰ ፡ ማዕበል ፡ ያስጥሙ ።

    And they were divided by the wrath of his face, yet his heart drew near. And his words were softer than oil, yet they are a flood that drowns. [text uncertain]

23. Verse 23.፳፫

    ግድፍ ፡ ላዕለ ፡ እግዚአብሔር ፡ ሕሊናከ ፡ ወውእቱ ፡ ይሴስየከ ፤ ወኢይሁቦ ፡ ሁከተ ፡ ለጻድቅ ፡ ለዓለም ።

    Cast your care upon Yahweh, and he will sustain you; and he will not give tumult to the righteous forever.

24. Verse 24.፳፬

    አንተ ፡ እግዚኦ ፡ አጽድፎሙ ፡ ውስተ ፡ ዐዘቅተ ፡ ሞት ፡ ዕድው ፡ ደም ፡ ወጽልሕዋን ፡ ኢይነፍቁ ፡ መዋዕሊሆሙ ፤ ወአንሰ ፡ ተወከልኩከ ፡ እግዚኦ ።

    But you, O Yahweh, will cast them down into the pit of death. Men of blood and deceivers shall not divide their days; but I have trusted in you, O Yahweh.
