- Verse 1.
ፍጻሜ ፡ ስብሐት ፡ ዘበኣእምሮ ፡ ዘዳዊት ፡
To the end. A song of praise, of instruction, of David,
- Verse 2.
ዘአመ ፡ መጽኡ ፡ ዜፌዊያን ፡ ወይቤልዎ ፡ ለሳኦል ፤ ናሁ ፡ ዳዊት ፡ ይትኀባእ ፡ ኀቤነ ።
when the Ziphites came and said to Saul, Behold, David is hiding among us.
- Verse 3.
እግዚኦ ፡ በስምከ ፡ አድኅነኒ ፤ ወበኀይልከ ፡ ፍታሕ ፡ ሊተ ።
O Yahweh, save me by your name, and judge me by your might.
- Verse 4.
እግዚኦ ፡ ስምዐኒ ፡ ጸሎትየ ፤ ወአፅምእ ፡ ቃለ ፡ አፉየ ።
O Yahweh, hear my prayer; and give ear to the words of my mouth.
- Verse 5.
እስመ ፡ ነኪራን ፡ ቆሙ ፡ ላዕሌየ ፡ ወኀያላን ፡ ኀሠሥዋ ፡ ለነፍስየ ፤ ወኢረሰይዎ ፡ ለእግዚአብሔር ፡ ቅድሜሆሙ ።
For strangers have risen up against me, and the mighty have sought after my soul; and they have not set Yahweh before them.
- Verse 6.
ናሁ ፡ እግዚአብሔር ፡ ይረድአኒ ፤ ወእግዚእየ ፡ ያድኅና ፡ ለነፍስየ ።
Behold, Yahweh helps me; and my Lord delivers my soul.
- Verse 7.
ወይመይጣ ፡ ለእኪት ፡ ዲበ ፡ ጸላእትየ ፤ ወበጽድቅከ ፡ ሠርዎሙ ።
And he shall turn back the evil upon my enemies; in your truth uproot them.
- Verse 8.
ዘእምፈቃድየ ፡ እሠውዕ ፡ ለከ ፤ እገኒ ፡ ለስምከ ፡ እግዚኦ ፡ እስመ ፡ ሠናይ ።
Of my own free will I will sacrifice to you; I will give thanks to your name, O Yahweh, for it is good.
- Verse 9.
እስመ ፡ እምኵሎ ፡ ምንዳቤየ ፡ አድኀንከኒ ፤ ወርእየት ፡ ዐይንየ ፡ በጸላእትየ ።
For from all my trouble you have delivered me, and my eye has looked upon my enemies.
