  1. Verse 1.

    ፍጻሜ ፡ ዘበአእምሮ ፡ ዘዳዊት ።

    To the end. A psalm of instruction, of David,

  2. Verse 2.

    ዘአመ ፡ መጽአ ፡ ዶይቅ ፡ ኤዶማዊ ፡ ወነገሮ ፡ ለሳኦል ፤ ወይቤሎ ፡ መጽአ ፡ ዳዊት ፡ ቤቶ ፡ ለአቤሜሌክ ።

    when Doeg the Edomite came and told Saul, and said to him, David has come to the house of Ahimelech.

  3. Verse 3.

    ለምንት ፡ ይዜሀር ፡ ኀያል ፡ በእከዩ ፤ ወይዔምፅ ፡ ኵሎ ፡ አሚረ ።

    Why does the mighty man boast in his wickedness, and act lawlessly all the day?

  4. Verse 4.

    ኀጢአተ ፡ ሐለየ ፡ ልብከ ፤ ከመ ፡ መላፄ ፡ በሊኅ ፡ ገበርከ ፡ ሕብለ ።

    Your heart has devised iniquity; like a sharpened razor you have wrought deceit.

  5. Verse 5.

    አብደርከ ፡ እኪተ ፡ እምሠናይት ፤ ወትዔምፅ ፡ እምትንብብ ፡ ጽድቀ ።

    You have loved evil more than goodness, and you act lawlessly rather than speak righteousness.

  6. Verse 6.

    ወአፍቀርከ ፡ ኵሎ ፡ ነገረ ፡ ልሳን ፡ መስጥም ።

    And you have loved all the words of a devouring tongue.

  7. Verse 7.

    በእንተዝ ፡ ይነሥተከ ፡ እግዚአብሔር ፡ ለዝሉፉ ፤ ይመልሐከ ፡ ወያፈልሰከ ፡ እምቤትከ ፡ ወሥርወከኒ ፡ እምድረ ፡ ሕያዋን ።

    Therefore Yahweh shall break you down forever; he shall pluck you up and uproot you from your dwelling, and root you out from the land of the living.

  8. Verse 8.

    ይርአዩ ፡ ጻድቃን ፡ ወይፍርሁ ፡ ወይስሐቁ ፡ ላዕሌሁ ፡ ወይበሉ ። ነዋ ፡ ብእሲ ፡ ዘኢረሰዮ ፡ ለእግዚአብሔር ፡ ረዳኢሁ ፤

    The righteous shall see and fear, and shall laugh at him, and shall say: Behold the man who did not make Yahweh his helper;

  9. Verse 9.

    ወተአመነ ፡ በብዝኀ ፡ ብዑሉ ፤ ወተኀየለ ፡ በከንቱ ።

    and he trusted in the abundance of his wealth, and was strong in his vanity.

  10. Verse 10.

    ወአንሰ ፡ ከመ ፡ ዕፀ ፡ ዘይት ፡ ስሙር ፡ ውስተ ፡ ቤተ ፡ እግዚአብሔር ፤ ወተወከልኩ ፡ በምሕረቱ ፡ ለእግዚአብሔር ፡ ለዓለም ፡ ወለዓለመ ፡ ዓለም ።

    But I am like a fruitful olive tree in the house of Yahweh; and I have trusted in the mercy of Yahweh forever and ever and ever.

  11. Verse 11.

    እገኒ ፡ ለከ ፡ ለዓለም ፡ እስመ ፡ ገበርከ ፡ ሊተ ፤ ወእሴፈዋ ፡ ለምሕረትከ ፡ እስመ ፡ ሠናያቲከ ፡ ኀበ ፡ ጻድቃኒከ ።

    I will give thanks to you forever, for you have done it; and I will hope in your mercy, for it is good before your righteous ones.
