- Verse 1.
መዝሙር ፡ ዘበአእምሮ ፡ ዘደቂቀ ፡ ቆሬ ።
A psalm of understanding, of the sons of Korah.
- Verse 2.
ከመ ፡ ያፈቅር ፡ ኀየል ፡ ኀበ ፡ አንቅዕተ ፡ ማያት ፤ ከማሁ ፡ ታፈቅር ፡ ነፍስየ ፡ ኀበ ፡ እግዚአብሔር ።
As the hart longs for the springs of waters, so does my soul long for Yahweh.
- Verse 3.
ጸምአት ፡ ነፍስይ ፡ ኀበ ፡ አምላኪየ ፡ ሕያው ፤ ማእዜ ፡ እበጽሕ ፡ ወእሬኢ ፡ ገጾ ፡ ለአምላኪየ ።
My soul thirsted for the living God; when shall I come and see the face of my God?
- Verse 4.
ሲሳየ ፡ ኮነኒ ፡ አንብዕየ ፡ መዐልተ ፡ ወሌሊተ ፤ እስመ ፡ ይብሉኒ ፡ ኵሎ ፡ አሚረ ፡ አይቴ ፡ ውእቱ ፡ አምላክከ ። ዘንተ ፡ ተዘኪርየ ፡ ተክዕወት ፡ ነፍስየ ፡ በላዕሌየ ፡ እስመ ፡ እበውእ ፡ ውስተ ፡ መካነ ፡ ማኅደረ ፡ ስብሐት ፡ ቤተ ፡ እግዚአብሔር ፤ በቃለ ፡ አሚን ፡ ወትፍሥሕት ፡ ደምፁ ፡ እለ ፡ ይገብሩ ፡ በዓለ ።
My tears were food to me by day and by night, for they say to me all the day: Where is your God? Remembering this, my soul was poured out within me, for I shall go in unto the place of the dwelling of glory, the house of Yahweh; with the voice of ‘Amen’ and of rejoicing resounded those who keep festival.
- Verse 5.
ለምንት ፡ ትቴክዚ ፡ ነፍስየ ፡ ወለምንት ፡ ተሀውክኒ ፤ እመኒ ፡ በእግዚአብሔር ፡ ከመ ፡ እገኒ ፡ ሎቱ ፤ መድኀኔ ፡ ገጽየ ፡ አምላኪየ ።
Why are you cast down, O my soul, and why do you trouble me? Trust in Yahweh, for I shall yet confess to him; the salvation of my countenance is my God.
- Verse 7.
ተሀውከት ፡ ነፍስየ ፡ በላዕሌየ ፤ በእንተዝ ፡ እዜከረከ ፡ እግዚኦ ፡ በምድረ ፡ ዮርዳኖስ ፡ በአርሞንኤም ፡ በደብር ፡ ንኡስ ።
My soul was troubled within me; therefore I will remember you, O Yahweh, in the land of Jordan, in Hermon, on the little hill.
- Verse 8.
ቀላይ ፡ ለቀላይ ፡ ትጼውዓ ፡ በቃለ ፡ አስራቢከ ፤ ኵሉ ፡ ማዕበልከ ፡ ወሞገድከ ፡ እንተ ፡ ላዕሌየ ፡ ኀለፈ ።
Deep calls to deep at the voice of your waterfalls; all your waves and your billows have passed over me.
- Verse 9.
መዐልተ ፡ ይኤዝዝ ፡ እግዚአብሔር ፡ ሣህሎ ፡ ወሌሊተ ፡ ይነብር ፤ እምኀቤየ ፡ ብፅአተ ፡ ሕይወትየ ፡ ለእግዚአብሔር ።
By day Yahweh commands his grace, and by night it abides; from me [goes up] a prayer of my life to Yahweh.
- Verse 10.
እብሎ ፡ ለእግዚአብሔር ፡ አምላኪየ ፡ አንተ ፡ ለምንት ፡ ትረስዐኒ ፤ ለምንት ፡ ተኀድገኒ ፡ ወለምንት ፡ ትኩዝየ ፡ አንሶሱ ፡ ሶበ ፡ ያመነድቡኒ ፡ ፀርየ ።
I will say to Yahweh my God: You are my God; why do you forget me? Why do you forsake me, and why do I go about mourning while my foes oppress me?
- Verse 11.
ወያጸንጵዉኒ ፡ አዕጽምትየ ፡ ወይጼእሉኒ ፡ ኵሎሙ ፡ ጸላእትየ ፤ እስመ ፡ ይብሉኒ ፡ ኵሎ ፡ አሚረ ፡ አይቴ ፡ ውእቱ ፡ አምላክከ ።
And my bones are crushed while all my enemies revile me; for they say to me all the day: Where is your God?
- Verse 12.
ለምንት ፡ ትቴክዚ ፡ ነፍስየ ፡ ወለምንት ፡ ተሀውክኒ ፤ እመኒ ፡ በእግዚአብሔር ፡ ከመ ፡ እገኒ ፡ ሎቱ ፤ መድኀኔ ፡ ገጽየ ፡ አምላኪየ ።
Why are you cast down, O my soul, and why do you trouble me? Trust in Yahweh, for I shall yet confess to him; the salvation of my countenance is my God.
