  1. Verse 1.

    ፍጻሜ ፡ መዝሙር ፡ ዘዳዊት ።

    To the end. A psalm of David.

  2. Verse 2.

    ብፁዕ ፡ ዘይሌቡ ፡ ላዕለ ፡ ነዳይ ፡ ወምስኪን ፤ እምዕለት ፡ እኪተ ፡ ያድኅኖ ፡ እግዚአብሔር ።

    Blessed is he who has understanding toward the poor and needy; in the day of evil Yahweh will deliver him.

  3. Verse 3.

    እግዚአብሔር ፡ ያዐቅቦ ፡ ወያሐይዎ ፡ ወያበጽዖ ፡ ዲበ ፡ ምድር ፤ ወኢያገብኦ ፡ ውስተ ፡ እደ ፡ ጸላኢሁ ።

    Yahweh will keep him and give him life, and make him blessed upon the earth; and he will not deliver him into the hand of his enemy.

  4. Verse 4.

    እግዚአብሔር ፡ ይረድኦ ፡ ውስተ ፡ ዐራተ ፡ ሕማሙ ፤ ወይመይጥ ፡ ሎቱ ፡ ኵሎ ፡ ምስካቤሁ ፡ እምደዌሁ ።

    Yahweh will help him upon the bed of his sickness; and he will turn for him all his couch from his disease.

  5. Verse 5.

    አንሰ ፡ እቤ ፡ እግዚኦ ፡ ተሣሀለኒ ፤ ወስረይ ፡ ላቲ ፡ ለነፍስየ ፡ እስመ ፡ አበስኩ ፡ ለከ ።

    As for me, I said: O Yahweh, have mercy on me; and heal my soul, for I have sinned against you.

  6. Verse 6.

    ጸላእትየሰ ፡ እኩየ ፡ ይቤሉ ፡ ላዕሌየ ፤ ማእዜ ፡ ይመውት ፡ ወይሰዐር ፡ ስሙ ።

    But my enemies have spoken evil against me: When will he die, and his name perish?

  7. Verse 7.

    ወይባእ ፡ ወይርአይ ፡ ዘከንቶ ፡ ይነብብ ፡ ልቡ ፡ አስተጋብአ ፡ ኃጢአተ ፡ ላዕሌሁ ፤ ይወፅእ ፡ አፍአ ፡ ወይትናገር ።

    And he comes in to see me, while his heart speaks vanity; he gathers up iniquity to himself; he goes outside and tells it.

  8. Verse 8.

    ወየኀብር ፡ ላዕሌየ ፡ ወይትቃጸቡኒ ፡ ኵሎሙ ፡ ጸላእትየ ፤ ወይመክሩ ፡ እኩየ ፡ ላዕሌየ ፤

    And they conspire against me, and all my enemies whisper together against me; and they devise evil against me;

  9. Verse 9.

    ነገረ ፡ ጌጋየ ፡ አውፅኡ ፡ ላዕሌየ ፤ ዘኖመሰ ፡ ኢይነቅህኑ ፡ እንከ ።

    A word of transgression they have brought out against me: he that sleeps, shall he not rise again henceforth?

  10. Verse 10.

    ብእሴ ፡ ሰላምየ ፡ ዘኪያሁ ፡ እትአመን ፡ ዘይሴስይ ፡ እክልየ ፤ አንሥአ ፡ ሰኰናሁ ፡ ላዕሌየ ።

    The man of my peace, in whom I trusted, who ate my bread, has lifted up his heel against me.

  11. Verse 11.

    እንተ ፡ እግዚኦ ፡ ተሣሀለኒ ፡ ወአንሥአኒ ፡ እፍድዮሙ ።

    But you, O Yahweh, have mercy on me and raise me up, that I may requite them.

  12. Verse 12.

    ወበእንተዝ ፡ አእመርኩ ፡ ከመ ፡ ሠመርከኒ ፤ ወኢተፈሥሑ ፡ ጸላእትየ ፡ ላዕሌየ ።

    And by this I knew that you were pleased with me, that my enemies have not rejoiced over me.

  13. Verse 13.

    ወሊተሰ ፡ በእንተ ፡ የዋሀትየ ፡ ተወከፍከኒ ፤ ወአጽናዕከኒ ፡ ቅድሜከ ፡ ለዓለም ።

    And as for me, because of my innocence you have received me; and you have established me before you forever.

  14. Verse 14.

    ይትባረክ ፡ እግዚአብሔር ፡ አምላከ ፡ እስራኤል ፡ እምይእዜ ፡ ወእስከ ፡ ለዓለም ፤ ለይኩን ፡ ለይኩን ።

    Blessed be Yahweh, the God of Israel, from now and unto forever; let it be, let it be.
