መዝሙር ፴፱

1. Verse 1.፩

   ፍጻሜ ፡ መዝሙር ፡ ዘዳዊት ።

   To the end. A psalm of David.

2. Verse 2.፪

   ጸኒሐ ፡ ጸናሕክዎ ፡ ለእግዚአብሔር ፤ ሰምዐኒ ፡ ወተመይጠኒ ፡ ወሰምዐኒ ፡ ቃለ ፡ ስእለትየ ።

   Waiting, I waited for Yahweh; he heard me and turned to me, and he heard the voice of my supplication.

3. Verse 3.፫

   ወአውፅአኒ ፡ እምዐዘቅተ ፡ ሕርትምና ፡ ወእምጽብረ ፡ ዐምዓም ፤ ወአቀሞኒ ፡ ውስተ ፡ ኰኵሕ ፡ ለእገርየ ፡ ወአጽንዖኒ ፡ ለመካይድየ ።

   And he brought me up out of the pit of misery and from the miry clay; and he set my feet upon a rock and made my steps firm.

4. Verse 4.፬

   ወወደየ ፡ ውስተ ፡ አፉየ ፡ ስብሓተ ፡ ሐዲሰ ፡ ስብሓቲሁ ፡ ለአምላክነ ፤ ይርአዩ ፡ ብዙኃን ፡ ወይፍርሁ ፤ ወይትወከሉ ፡ በእግዚአብሔር ።

   And he put in my mouth a new praise, a praise to our God; many shall see and shall fear, and shall put their trust in Yahweh.

5. Verse 5.፭

   ብፁዕ ፡ ብእሲ ፡ ዘስመ ፡ እግዚአብሔር ፡ ትውክልቱ ፤ ወዘኢነጸረ ፡ ውስተ ፡ ከንቱ ፡ ውስተ ፡ መዐት ፡ ወሐሰት ።

   Blessed is the man whose trust is the name of Yahweh, and who has not looked toward vanity, toward madness and falsehood.

6. Verse 6.፮

   ብዙኀ ፡ ገበርከ ፡ እግዚኦ ፡ አምላኪየ ፡ መንክረከ ፡ ወአልቦ ፡ ዘይመስሎ ፡ ለሕሊናከ ፤ አይደዕኩ ፡ ወነገርኩ ፡ ወበዝኃ ፡ እምኈልቍ ።

   Many things you have done, O Yahweh my God, your wonders, and there is none that can be likened to your thoughts; I have declared and spoken [of them], and they are more than can be numbered.

7. Verse 7.፯

   መሥዋዕተ ፡ ወቍርባነ ፡ ኢፈቀድከ ፡ ሥጋሰ ፡ አንጽሕ ፡ ሊተ ፤ መሥዋዕተ ፡ ዘበእንተ ፡ ኃጢአት ፡ ኢሠመርከ ።

   Sacrifice and offering you did not desire, but a body you have purified for me; sacrifice for sin you have not been pleased with.

8. Verse 8.፰

   ውእቱ ፡ ጊዜ ፡ እቤ ፡ ነየ ፡ መጻእኩ ፤ ውስተ ፡ ርእሰ ፡ መጽሐፍ ፡ ተጽሕፈ ፡ በእንቲአየ ።

   At that time I said: Behold, I have come; in the head of the book it is written concerning me.

9. Verse 9.፱

   ከመ ፡ እንግር ፡ ፈቃደከ ፡ መከርኩ ፡ አምላኪየ ፤ ወሕግከኒ ፡ በማእከለ ፡ ከርሥየ ።

   That I should do your will I have purposed, O my God; and your law is within my belly.

10. Verse 10.፲

    ዜነውኩ ፡ ጽድቀ ፡ በማኅበር ፡ ዐቢይ ፡ ናሁ ፡ ኢከላእኩ ፡ ከናፍርየ ፤ እግዚኦ ፡ ለሊከ ፡ ታአምር ፡ ጽድቅየ ።

    I have proclaimed righteousness in the great assembly; behold, I have not restrained my lips; O Yahweh, you yourself know my righteousness.

11. Verse 11.፲፩

    ኢኀባእኩ ፡ ውስተ ፡ ልብየ ፡ ርትዐከ ፤ ወነገርኩ ፡ አድኅኖተከ ፤ ወኢሰወርኩ ፡ ሣህለከ ፡ ወምሕረትከ ፡ እማኅበር ፡ ዐቢይ ።

    I have not hidden your justice within my heart; and I have spoken of your salvation; and I have not concealed your grace and your mercy from the great assembly.

12. Verse 12.፲፪

    አንተ ፡ እግዚኦ ፡ ኢታርሕቅ ፡ ሣህለከ ፡ እምኔየ ፤ ምሕረትከ ፡ ወጽድቅከ ፡ ዘልፈ ፡ ይርከባኒ ።

    You, O Yahweh, do not remove your grace from me; let your mercy and your righteousness ever sustain me.

13. Verse 13.፲፫

    እስመ ፡ ረከበተኒ ፡ እኪት ፡ እንተ ፡ አልባቲ ፡ ኈልቈ ፡ ወተራከባኒ ፡ ኃጣውእየ ፡ ወስእንኩ ፡ ነጽሮ ፤ ወበዝኃ ፡ እምሥዕርተ ፡ ርእስየ ፤ ልብየኒ ፡ ኀደገኒ ።

    For evils without number have found me, and my iniquities have overtaken me, and I was unable to see; and they are more than the hairs of my head; and my heart has forsaken me.

14. Verse 14.፲፬

    ሥመር ፡ እግዚኦ ፡ ከመ ፡ ታድኅነኒ ፤ እግዚኦ ፡ ነጽር ፡ ውስተ ፡ ረዲኦትየ ።

    Be pleased, O Yahweh, to deliver me; O Yahweh, look to my help.

15. Verse 15.፲፭

    ይትኀፈሩ ፡ ወይኅሰሩ ፡ ኅቡረ ፡ እለ ፡ ይፈቅዱ ፡ ያእትትዋ ፡ ለነፍስየ ፡ ለይግብኡ ፡ ድኅሬሆሙ ፡ ወይትኀፈሩ ፡ እለ ፡ ይፈቅዱ ፡ ሊተ ፡ እኩየ ።

    Let them be ashamed and confounded together who seek to take away my soul; let them be turned back behind them, and let them be ashamed who wish me evil.

16. Verse 16.፲፮

    ወይትፈደዩ ፡ በጊዜሃ ፡ ኀሳሮሙ ፤ እለ ፡ ይብሉኒ ፡ እንቋዕ ፡ እንቋዕ ።

    And let them be requited at once with their shame, those who say to me: Aha, aha.

17. Verse 17.፲፯

    ለይትፈሥሑ ፡ ወይትሐሰዩ ፡ ብከ ፡ ኵሎሙ ፡ እለ ፡ የኀሡከ ፡ እግዚኦ ። ወይበሉ ፡ ዘልፈ ፡ ዐቢይ ፡ እግዚአብሔር ፤ እለ ፡ ይፈቅዱ ፡ አድኀኖተከ ፡ በኵሉ ፡ ጊዜ ።

    Let all who seek you rejoice and be glad in you, O Yahweh; and let those who desire your salvation say always: Great is Yahweh, at all times.

18. Verse 18.፲፰

    አንሰ ፡ ነዳይ ፡ ወምስኪን ፡ አነ ፡ ወእግዚአብሔር ፡ ይሔሊ ፡ ሊተ ፤ ረዳእየ ፡ ወመድኀንየ ፡ አንተ ፡ አምላኪየ ፡ ወኢትጐንዲ ።

    But as for me, I am poor and needy, yet Yahweh cares for me; you are my helper and my deliverer, O my God, do not delay.
