- Verse 1.
መዝሙር ፡ ዘዳዊት ። ግፍዖሙ ፡ እግዚኦ ፡ ለእለ ፡ ይገፍዑኒ ፤ ፅብኦሙ ፡ እግዚኦ ፡ ለእለ ፡ ይፀብኡኒ ።
A psalm of David. Oppress, O Yahweh, those who oppress me; contend, O Yahweh, with those who fight against me.
- Verse 2.
ንሥእ ፡ ወልታ ፡ ወኲናተ ፤ ወተንሥእ ፡ ውስተ ፡ ረዲኦትየ ።
Take up shield and spear, and rise up to my help.
- Verse 3.
ምላኅ ፡ ሰይፈከ ፡ ወዕግቶሙ ፡ ለእለ ፡ ሮዱኒ ፤ በላ ፡ ለነፍስየ ፡ አነ ፡ ውእቱ ፡ ረዳኢኪ ።
Draw out your sword and shut in those who pursue me; say to my soul, 'I am your helper.'
- Verse 4.
ለይትኀፈሩ ፡ ወይኅሰሩ ፡ ኵሎሙ ፡ እለ ፡ የኀሥዋ ፡ ለነፍስየ ፤ ለይግብኡ ፡ ድኅሬሆሙ ፡ ወይትኀፈሩ ፡ እለ ፡ መከሩ ፡ እኩየ ፡ ላዕሌየ ።
Let all those who seek my soul be put to shame and confounded; let those who plot evil against me be turned back and put to shame.
- Verse 5.
ለይኩኑ ፡ ከመ ፡ ጸበል ፡ ዘቅድመ ፡ ገጸ ፡ ነፋስ ፤ ወመልአከ ፡ እግዚአብሔር ፡ ለይሣቅዮሙ ።
Let them be as dust before the face of the wind, and let the angel of Yahweh afflict them.
- Verse 6.
ለትኩን ፡ ፍኖቶሙ ፡ ዳኅፀ ፡ ወጽልመተ ፤ ወመልአከ ፡ እግዚአብሔር ፡ ለይስድዶሙ ።
Let their way be slippery and dark, and let the angel of Yahweh pursue them.
- Verse 7.
እስመ ፡ በከንቱ ፡ ኀብኡ ፡ ሊተ ፡ መሥገርተ ፡ ያጥፍኡኒ ፤ ወበከንቱ ፡ አምንዘዝዋ ፡ ለነፍስየ ።
For without cause they have hidden for me a snare to destroy me; without cause they have reproached my soul.
- Verse 8.
ለትምጽኦሙ ፡ መሥገርት ፡ እንተ ፡ ኢያእመሩ ። ወተአኅዞሙ ፡ መሥገርት ፡ እንተ ፡ ኀብኡ ፤ ወይደቁ ፡ ውስተ ፡ ይእቲ ፡ መሥገርት ።
Let a snare that they do not know come upon them, and let the snare that they hid take hold of them; and let them fall into that very snare.
- Verse 9.
ወነፍስየሰ ፡ ትትፌሣሕ ፡ በእግዚአብሔር ፤ ወትትሐሠይ ፡ በአድኅኖቱ ።
But my soul shall rejoice in Yahweh; it shall delight in his salvation.
- Verse 10.
ኵሉ ፡ አዕጽምትየ ፡ ይብሉከ ፤ እግዚኦ ፡ መኑ ፡ ከማከ ፡ ታድኅኖ ፡ ለነዳይ ፡ እምእደ ፡ ዘይትዔገሎ ፤ ለነዳይ ፡ ወለምስኪን ፡ እምእደ ፡ ዘይመስጦ ።
All my bones shall say, 'O Yahweh, who is like you, who delivers the poor from the hand of the one stronger than he, the poor and needy from the hand of the one who plunders him?'
- Verse 11.
ተንሥኡ ፡ ላዕሌየ ፡ ሰማዕተ ፡ ዐመፃ ፤ ወዘኢያአምር ፡ ነበቡ ፡ ላዕሌየ ።
Unjust witnesses rose up against me; they questioned me about things I did not know.
- Verse 12.
ፈደዩኒ ፡ እኪተ ፡ ህየንተ ፡ ሠናይት ፤ ወአኅጥእዋ ፡ ውሉደ ፡ ለነፍስየ ።
They repaid me evil for good, and bereavement to my soul.
- Verse 13.
ወአንሰ ፡ ሶበ ፡ አስርሑኒ ፡ ለበስኩ ፡ ሠቀ ፡ ወአሕመምክዋ ፡ በጾም ፡ ለነፍስየ፤ ወጸሎትየኒ ፡ ገብአ ፡ ውስተ ፡ ሕፅንየ ።
But as for me, when they troubled me, I put on sackcloth and afflicted my soul with fasting; and my prayer returned into my own bosom.
- Verse 14.
ከመ ፡ ዘለአኀውየ ፡ ወለቢጽየ ፡ ከማሁ ፡ አድሎኩ ፤ ከመ ፡ ዘይላሑ ፡ ወይቴክዝ ፡ ከማሁ ፡ አትሐትኩ ፡ ርእስየ ።
As though it were for my brother and my companion, so I behaved; as one who mourns and is sorrowful, so I bowed down my head.
- Verse 15.
ተጋብኡ ፡ ላዕሌየ ፡ ወተፈሥሑ ፤ ተማከሩ ፡ ይቅሥፉኒ ፡ ወኢያእመርኩ ።
They gathered against me and rejoiced; they took counsel to scourge me, and I did not know it.
- Verse 16.
ተሰብሩሂ ፡ ወኢደንገፁ ። ፈተኑኒ ፡ ወተሳለቁ ፡ ላዕሌየ ፡ ወሠሐቁኒ ፤ ወሐቀዩ ፡ ስነኒሆሙ ፡ ላዕሌየ ።
They were broken and did not stand in awe. They tempted me, and they mocked me with scorn and laughed me to scorn; and they gnashed their teeth against me.
- Verse 17.
እግዚኦ ፡ ማእዜኑ ፡ ትፈትሕ ፡ ሊተ ። አድኅና ፡ ለነፍስየ ፡ እምእከየ ፡ ምግባሮሙ ፤ ወእምአናብስት ፡ ለብሕቱትየ ።
O Yahweh, when will you judge in my favor? Deliver my soul from the malice of their deeds, and my solitary life from the lions.
- Verse 18.
እገኒ ፡ ለከ ፡ እግዚኦ ፡ በውስተ ፡ ማኅበር ፡ ዐቢይ ፤ ወእሴብሐከ ፡ በውስተ ፡ ሕዝብ ፡ ክቡድ ፡
I will give thanks to you, O Yahweh, in the great assembly; I will praise you among a mighty people.
- Verse 19.
ወኢይትፌሥሑ ፡ ላዕሌየ ፡ እለ ፡ ይጸልኡኒ ፡ በዐመፃ ፤ እለ ፡ ይፃረሩኒ ፡ በከንቱ ፡ ወይትቃጸቡኒ ፡ በአዕይንቲሆሙ ።
Let not those who hate me wrongfully rejoice over me, those who oppose me without cause and wink at me with their eyes.
- Verse 20.
እስመ ፡ ሊተሰ ፡ ሰላመ ፡ ይትናገሩኒ ፤ ወይመክሩ ፡ በቍፅር ፡ ያመንስዉኒ ።
For to me they speak peace, but in wrath they devise to entrap me.
- Verse 21.
ወአብቀዉ ፡ አፉሆሙ ፡ ላዕሌየ ፤ ወይቤሉ ፡ እንቋዕ ፡ እንቋዕ ፤ ርኢናሁ ፡ በአዕይንቲነ ።
They opened wide their mouths against me, and said, 'Aha, aha! We have seen it with our own eyes.'
- Verse 22.
ርኢ ፡ እግዚኦ ፡ ወኢታርምም ፤ እግዚኦ ፡ ኢትርሐቅ ፡ እምኔየ ።
You have seen, O Yahweh; be not silent. O Yahweh, do not be far from me.
- Verse 23.
ተንሥእ ፡ እግዚኦ ፡ አፅምእ ፡ ፍትሕየ ፤ አምላኪየ ፡ ወእግዚእየ ፡ ውስተ ፡ ቅሥትየ ።
Arise, O Yahweh, and attend to my judgment; my God and my Lord, attend to my cause.
- Verse 24.
ፍታሕ ፡ ሊተ ፡ እግዚኦ ፡ አምላኪየ ፡ በከመ ፡ ጽድቅከ ፤ ወኢይትፌሥሑ ፡ ላእሌየ ።
Judge me, O Yahweh my God, according to your righteousness, and let them not rejoice over me.
- Verse 25.
ወኢይበሉ ፡ በልቦሙ ፡ እንቋዕ ፡ እንቋዕ ፡ ላዕለ ፡ ነፍስየ ፤ ወኢይበሉ ፡ ውኅጥናሁ ።
And let them not say in their hearts, 'Aha, aha, against our soul,' and let them not say, 'We have swallowed him up.'
- Verse 26.
ለይትኀፈሩ ፡ ወይኅሰሩ ፡ እለ ፡ ይትፌሥሑ ፡ በሕማምየ ፤ ወይልበሱ ፡ ኀፍረተ ፡ ወኀሳረ ፡ እለ ፡ ያዐብዩ ፡ አፉሆሙ ፡ ላዕሌየ ።
Let those who rejoice at my affliction be put to shame and confounded; let those who magnify themselves against me be clothed with shame and disgrace.
- Verse 27.
ለይትፌሥሑ ፡ ወይትሐሠዩ ፡ እለ ፡ ይፈቅድዋ ፡ ለጽድቅየ ፤ ወይበሉ ፡ በኵሉ ፡ ጊዜ ፡ ዐቢይ ፡ እግዚአብሔር ፡ እለ ፡ ይፈቅዱ ፡ ሰላመ ፡ ገብርከ ።
Let those who delight in my righteousness rejoice and be glad; and let those who desire the peace of your servant say at all times, 'Yahweh be magnified.'
- Verse 28.
ልሳንየ ፡ ያነብብ ፡ ጽድቀከ ፤ ወኵሎ ፡ አሚረ ፡ ስብሐቲከ ።
My tongue shall speak of your righteousness, and of your praise all the day.
