መዝሙር ፴፪

1. Verse 1.፩

   መዝሙር ፡ ዘዳዊት ። ተፈሥሑ ፡ ጻድቃን ፡ በእግዚአብሔር ፤ ወለራትዓን ፡ ይደልዎሙ ፡ ክብር ።

   A psalm of David. Rejoice, you righteous, in Yahweh; praise befits the upright.

2. Verse 2.፪

   ግነዩ ፡ ለእግዚአብሔር ፡ በመሰንቆ ፤ ወበመዝሙር ፡ ዘዐሠርቱ ፡ አውታሪሁ ፡ ዘምሩ ፡ ሎቱ ።

   Give thanks to Yahweh with the harp; sing to him with the psaltery of ten strings.

3. Verse 3.፫

   ወሰብሐዎ ፡ ስብሐተ ፡ ሐዲሰ ፤ ሠናየ ፡ ዘምሩ ፡ ወየብቡ ፡ ሎቱ ።

   Praise him with a new song; sing well and shout aloud to him.

4. Verse 4.፬

   እስመ ፡ ጽድቅ ፡ ቃሉ ፡ ለእግዚአብሔር ፤ ውኵሉ ፡ ግብሩ ፡ በሀይማኖት ።

   For the word of Yahweh is righteousness, and all his work is done in faithfulness.

5. Verse 5.፭

   ያፈቅር ፡ እግዚአብሔር ፡ ጽድቀ ፡ ወምጽዋተ ፤ ሣህሉ ፡ ለእግዚአብሔር ፡ መልአ ፡ ምድረ ።

   Yahweh loves righteousness and mercy; the mercy of Yahweh has filled the earth.

6. Verse 6.፮

   ወበቃለ ፡ እግዚአብሔር ፡ ጸንዓ ፡ ሰማያት ፤ ወበእስትንፋሰ ፡ አፉሁ ፡ ኵሉ ፡ ኀይሎሙ ።

   By the word of Yahweh the heavens were established, and by the breath of his mouth all their host.

7. Verse 7.፯

   ዘያስተጋብኦ ፡ ከመ ፡ ዝቅ ፡ ለማየ ፡ ባሕር ፤ ወይሠይሞሙ ፡ ውስተ ፡ መዛግብተ ፡ ቀላያት ።

   He gathers the waters of the sea together as into a wineskin, and he sets the deeps in storehouses.

8. Verse 8.፰

   ትፍርሆ ፡ ለእግዚአብሔር ፡ ኵላ ፡ ምድር ፤ ወእምኔሁ ፡ ይደንግፁ ፡ ኵሎሙ ፡ እለ ፡ ይነብሩ ፡ ውስተ ፡ ዓለም ።

   Let all the earth fear Yahweh, and let all who dwell in the world stand in awe of him.

9. Verse 9.፱

   እስመ ፡ ውእቱ ፡ ይቤ ፡ ወኮኑ ፤ ወውእቱ ፡ አዘዘ ፡ ወተፈጥሩ ።

   For he himself spoke, and they came to be; he himself commanded, and they were created.

10. Verse 10.፲

    እግዚአብሔር ፡ ይመይጥ ፡ ምክሮሙ ፡ ለአሕዛብ ፤ ወይመይጥ ፡ ሕሊናሆሙ ፡ ለሕዝብ ፤ ወያረስዖሙ ፡ ምክሮሙ ፡ ለመላእክት ።

    Yahweh overturns the counsel of the nations, and he overturns the devices of the peoples, and he brings to nothing the counsels of rulers.

11. Verse 11.፲፩

    ወምክሩሰ ፡ ለእግዚአብሔር ፡ ይሄሉ ፡ ለዓለም ፤ ወሕሊና ፡ ልቡኒ ፡ ለትውልደ ፡ ትውልድ ።

    But the counsel of Yahweh abides forever, and the thoughts of his heart from generation to generation.

12. Verse 12.፲፪

    ብፁዕ ፡ ሕዝብ ፡ ዘእግዚአብሔር ፡ አምላኩ ፤ ሕዝብ ፡ ዘኀረየ ፡ ሎቱ ፡ ለርስቱ ።

    Blessed is the people whose God is Yahweh, the people he has chosen for his inheritance.

13. Verse 13.፲፫

    እምሰማይ ፡ ሐወጸ ፡ እግዚአብሔር ፤ ወርእየ ፡ ኵሎ ፡ ደቂቀ ፡ እጓለ ፡ እምሕያው ።

    From heaven Yahweh has looked down, and he has seen all the sons of the children of men.

14. Verse 14.፲፬

    ወእምድልው ፡ ጽርሐ ፡ መቅደሱ ፤ ወርእየ ፡ ላዕለ ፡ ኵሎሙ ፡ እለ ፡ ኅዱራን ፡ ዲበ ፡ ምድር ።

    And from the place prepared, the sanctuary of his dwelling, he has looked upon all who abide on the earth.

15. Verse 15.፲፭

    ዘውእቱ ፡ ባሕቲቱ ፡ ፈጠረ ፡ ልኮሙ ፤ ዘያአምር ፡ ኵሎ ፡ ምግባሮሙ ።

    He who alone formed their hearts, who understands all their works.

16. Verse 16.፲፮

    ኢይድኅን ፡ ንጉሥ ፡ በብዝኀ ፡ ሰራዊቱ ፤ ወያርብኅኒ ፡ ኢደኅነ ፡ በብዙኀ ፡ ኀይሉ ።

    A king is not saved by the multitude of his army, nor is a giant delivered by the greatness of his strength.

17. Verse 17.፲፯

    ወፈረስኒ ፡ ሐሳዊ ፡ ኢያድኅን ፤ ወኢያመስጥ ፡ በብዝኀ ፡ ጽንዑ ።

    A horse is a false thing for safety; it does not save, nor does it deliver by the greatness of its might.

18. Verse 18.፲፰

    ናሁ ፡ አዕይንቲሁ ፡ ለእግዚአብሔር ፡ ኀበ ፡ እለ ፡ ይፈርህዎ ፤ ወእለሰ ፡ ይትዌከሉ ፡ በምሕረቱ ።

    Behold, the eyes of Yahweh are upon those who fear him, and upon those who hope in his mercy,

19. Verse 19.፲፱

    ያድኅና ፡ እሞት ፡ ለነፍሶሙ ፤ ወይሴስዮሙ ፡ አመ ፡ ረኃብ ።

    to deliver their souls from death, and to feed them in time of famine.

20. Verse 20.፳

    ነፍስነሰ ፡ ትሴፈዎ ፡ ለእግዚአብሔር ፤ እስመ ፡ ረዳኢነ ፡ ወምስካይነ ፡ ውእቱ ።

    But our soul waits for Yahweh, for he is our helper and our shield.

21. Verse 21.፳፩

    እስመ ፡ ቦቱ ፡ ይትፌሣሕ ፡ ልብነ ፤ ወተወከልነ ፡ በስሙ ፡ ቅዱስ ።

    For in him our heart rejoices, and we have trusted in his holy name.

22. Verse 22.፳፪

    ለትኩን ፡ እግዚኦ ፡ ምሕረትከ ፡ ላዕሌነ ፤ በከመ ፡ ላዕሌከ ፡ ተወከልነ ።

    Let your mercy, O Yahweh, be upon us, even as we have hoped in you.
