መዝሙር ፴፩

1. Verse 1.፩

   መዝሙር ፡ ዘዳዊት ፡ ዘበኣእምሮ ። ብፁዓን ፡ እለ ፡ ተኀድገ ፡ ሎሙ ፡ ኀጢአቶሙ ፤ ወለእለ ፡ ኢሐሰበ ፡ ሎሙ ፡ ኵሎ ፡ ገጋዮሙ ።

   A Psalm of David, of understanding. Blessed are those whose sins are forgiven them; and to whom all their transgression is not reckoned.

2. Verse 2.፪

   ብፁዕ ፡ ብእሲ ፡ ዘኢኈለቈ ፡ ሎቱ ፡ እግዚአብሔር ፡ ኃጢአቶ ፤ ወዘአልቦ ፡ ጽልሑተ ፡ ውስተ ፡ ልቡ ።

   Blessed is the man to whom Yahweh has not counted his sin; and in whose heart there is no guile.

3. Verse 3.፫

   እስመ ፡ አርመምኩ ፡ በልብየ ፡ አዕጽምትየ ፤ እምኀበ ፡ እጸርኅ ፡ ኵሎ ፡ አሚረ ።

   For I kept silence; my bones [wasted away] within me, while I cried out all the day long.

4. Verse 4.፬

   እስመ ፡ መዐልተ ፡ ወሌሊተ ፡ ከብደት ፡ እዴከ ፡ ላዕሌየ ፤ ወተመየጥኩ ፡ ለሕርትምና ፡ ሶበ ፡ ወግዐኒ ፡ ሦክ ።

   For day and night your hand was heavy upon me; and I was turned to misery when the thorn pierced me.

5. Verse 5.፭

   ኃጢአትየ ፡ ነገርኩ ፡ ወአበሳየ ፡ ኢኀባእኩ ፤ ወእቤ ፡ ኣስተዋዳ ፡ ርእስየ ፡ ኀበ ፡ እግዚአብሔር ፡ በእንተ ፡ ኀጢአትየ ፤ ወአንተ ፡ ኅድግ ፡ ጽልሑቶ ፡ ለልብየ ።

   My sin I declared, and my iniquity I did not hide; and I said, I will accuse myself to Yahweh concerning my sin; and you forgave the guile of my heart.

6. Verse 6.፮

   በእንተዝ ፡ ይጼሊ ፡ ኀቤከ ፡ ኵሉ ፡ ጻድቅ ፡ በጊዜ ፡ ርቱዕ ፤ ወባሕቱ ፡ ማየ ፡ አይኅ ፡ ብዙኅ ፡ ኢይቀርብ ፡ ኀቤከ ።

   Therefore every righteous one prays to you in the right season; yet the flood of great waters shall not come near to him.

7. Verse 7.፯

   አንተ ፡ ምስካይየ ፡ እምዛቲ ፡ ምንዳቤየ ፡ እንተ ፡ ረከበትኒ ፤ ወትፍሥሕትየኒ ፡ ከመ ፡ ታድኅነኒ ፡ እምእለ ፡ ሮዱኒ ።

   You are my refuge from this affliction which has found me; and you are my joy, to save me from those who pursue me.

8. Verse 8.፰

   ኣሌብወከ ፡ ወኣጸንዐከ ፡ በዛቲ ፡ ፍኖት ፡ እንተ ፡ ሖርከ ፤ ወኣጸንዕ ፡ አዕይንትየ ፡ ላዕሌከ ።

   I will instruct you and strengthen you in this way which you should go; and I will fix my eyes upon you.

9. Verse 9.፱

   ኢትኩኒ ፡ ከመ ፡ ፈረስ ፡ ወበቅል ፡ እለ ፡ አልቦሙ ፡ ልበ ፤ እለ ፡ በሕሳል ፡ ወበልጓም ፡ ይመይጥዎሙ ፡ መላትሒሆሙ ፡ ከመ ፡ ኢይቅረቡ ፡ ኀቤከ ።

   Do not be like the horse and the mule, which have no understanding; whose jaws must be held with bit and bridle, lest they come near to you.

10. Verse 10.፲

    ብዙኅ ፡ መቅሠፍቶሙ ፡ ለኃጥኣን ፤ ወእለሰ ፡ ይትዌከሉ ፡ በእግዚአብሔር ፡ ሣህል ፡ ይሜግቦሙ ።

    Many are the chastisements of the sinners; but as for those who trust in Yahweh, mercy shall surround them.

11. Verse 11.፲፩

    ተፈሥሑ ፡ በእግዚአብሔር ፡ ወተሐሠዩ ፡ ጻድቃኑ ፤ ወተመክሑ ፡ ኵልክሙ ፡ ርቱዓነ ፡ ልብ ።

    Rejoice in Yahweh and be glad, you righteous ones; and exult, all you upright in heart.
