- Verse 1.
መዝሙር ፡ ዘዳዊት ፡ ዘእንበለ ፡ ይትቀባእ ። እግዚአብሔር ፡ ያበርህ ፡ ሊተ ፡ ወያድኅነኒ ፡ ምንትኑ ፡ ያፈርሀኒ ፤ እግዚአብሔር ፡ ምእመና ፡ ለሕይወትየ ፡ ምንትኑ ፡ ያደነግፀኒ ።
A psalm of David, before he was anointed. Yahweh enlightens me and saves me; whom shall I fear? Yahweh is the protector of my life; of whom shall I be afraid?
- Verse 2.
ሶበ ፡ ይቀርቡኒ ፡ እኩያን ፡ ይብልዑኒ ፡ ሥጋየ ፤ ጸላእትየሰ ፡ እለ ፡ ይሣቅዩኒ ፡ እሙንቱ ፡ ደክሙ ፡ ወወድቁ ።
When the wicked draw near to me to devour my flesh, my enemies who afflict me, they themselves grew weak and fell.
- Verse 3.
እመኒ ፡ ፀብአኒ ፡ ተዓይን ፡ ኢይፈርሀኒ ፡ ልብየ ፤ ወእመኒ ፡ ሮዱኒ ፡ ፀባኢት ፡ አንሰ ፡ ቦቱ ፡ ተወከልኩ ።
Though a camp array itself against me, my heart shall not fear; and though war rise up against me, I trust in him.
- Verse 4.
አሐተ ፡ ሰአልክዎ ፡ ለእግዚአብሔር ፡ ወኪያሃ ፡ አኀሥሥ ፤ ከመ ፡ እኅድር ፡ ቤቶ ፡ ለእግዚአብሔር ፡ በኵሉ ፡ መዋዕለ ፡ ሕይወትየ ፤ ከመ ፡ ያርእየኒ ፡ ዘያሠምሮ ፡ ለእግዚአብሔር ፡ ወከመ ፡ እፀመድ ፡ ውስተ ፡ ቤተ ፡ መቅደሱ ።
One thing have I asked of Yahweh, and this I will seek: that I may dwell in the house of Yahweh all the days of my life, that he may show me what is pleasing to Yahweh, and that I may worship in his holy temple.
- Verse 5.
እስመ ፡ ኀብአኒ ፡ ውስተ ፡ ጽላሎቱ ፡ በዕለተ ፡ ምንዳቤየ ። ወሰወረኒ ፡ በምኅባአ ፡ ጽላሎቱ ፤ ወዲበ ፡ ኰኵሕ ፡ አልዐለኒ ።
For he has hidden me in his tabernacle in the day of my trouble. And he has sheltered me in the secret place of his tabernacle, and he has lifted me up upon a rock.
- Verse 6.
ናሁ ፡ ይእዜ ፡ አልዐለ ፡ እግዚአብሔር ፡ ርእስየ ፡ ዲበ ፡ ጸላእትየ ። ዖድኩ ፡ ወሦዕኩ ፡ ውስተ ፡ ደብተራሁ ፡ መሥዋዕተ ፤ ወየበብኩ ፡ ሎቱ ። እሴብሕ ፡ ወእዜምር ፡ ለእግዚአብሔር ።
Behold, now Yahweh has lifted up my head above my enemies. I went about and offered sacrifice in his tent, and I shouted for joy to him. I will praise and sing to Yahweh.
- Verse 7.
ስምዐኒ ፡ እግዚኦ ፡ ቃልየ ፡ ዘሰአልኩ ፡ ኀቤከ ። ተሣሀለኒ ፡ ወስምዐኒ ፡
Hear, O Yahweh, my voice with which I have cried to you. Have mercy on me and hear me.
- Verse 8.
ለከ ፡ ይብለከ ፡ ልብየ ፡ ወኀሠሥኩ ፡ ገጸከ ፤ ገጸ ፡ ዚአከ ፡ አኀሥሥ ፡ እግዚኦ ።
To you my heart says, and I have sought your face; your face, O Yahweh, will I seek.
- Verse 9.
ወኢትሚጥ ፡ ገጸከ ፡ እምኔየ ፡ ወኢትትገሐስ ፡ እምገብርከ ፡ ተምዒዐከ ። ረዳኤ ፡ ኩነኒ ፡ ወኢትግድፈኒ ፡ ወኢትትሀየየኒ ፡ አምላኪየ ፡ ወመድኀኒየ ።
And turn not your face away from me, and turn not aside from your servant in your anger. Be my helper, and forsake me not, neither despise me, my God and my savior.
- Verse 10.
እስመ ፡ አቡየ ፡ ወእምየ ፡ ገደፉኒ ፤ ወእግዚአብሔር ፡ ተወክፈኒ ።
For my father and my mother have forsaken me, but Yahweh has received me.
- Verse 11.
ምህረኒ ፡ እግዚኦ ፡ ፍኖትከ ፤ ወምርሐኒ ፡ ፍኖተ ፡ ርትዕከ ፡ በእንተ ፡ ጸላእትየ ።
Teach me your way, O Yahweh, and lead me in the path of your uprightness, because of my enemies.
- Verse 12.
ወኢትመጥወኒ ፡ ለነፍስ ፡ ለእለ ፡ ይሣቅዩኒ ፤ እስመ ፡ ቆሙ ፡ ላእሌየ ፡ ሰምዕተ ፡ ዐመፃ ፡ ወሐሰወት ፡ ርእሳ ፡ ዐመፃ ።
And deliver me not over to the soul of those who afflict me, for they have risen up against me as witnesses of iniquity, and iniquity has lied to itself.
- Verse 13.
እትአመን ፡ ከመ ፡ እርአይ ፡ ሠናይቶ ፡ ለእግዚአብሔር ፡ በብሔረ ፡ ሕያዋን ።
I believe that I shall see the goodness of Yahweh in the land of the living.
- Verse 14.
ወተሰፈዎ ፡ ለእግዚአብሔር ። ተዐገሥ ፡ ወአጽንዕ ፡ ልበከ ፡ ወተሰፈዎ ፡ ለእግዚአብሔር ።
And wait for Yahweh. Be patient and strengthen your heart, and wait for Yahweh.
