መዝሙር ፳፩

1. Verse 1.፩

   ፍጻሜ ፡ በእንተ ፡ ተወክፎ ፡ እንተ ፡ ጸብሐት ፤ መዝሙር ፡ ዘዳዊት ።

   To the end, concerning the help that comes at dawn; a psalm of David.

2. Verse 2.፪

   አምላኪየ ፡ አምላኪየ ፡ ነጽረኒ ፡ ወለምንት ፡ ኀደገኒ ፤ ርሑቅ ፡ እምአድኅኖትየ ፡ ቃለ ፡ ኃጢአትየ ።

   My God, my God, look upon me; and why have you forsaken me? Far from my deliverance are the words of my transgression.

3. Verse 3.፫

   አምላኪየ፡ ጸራኅኩ ፡ ኀቤከ ፡ ዕለትየ ፡ ወኢሰማዕከኒ ፤ ወሌሊትየኒ ፡ ቅድሜከ ፡ ወኢሐለይከኒ ።

   My God, I cried out to you by day and you did not hear me; and in my night also, before you, and you did not consider me.

4. Verse 4.፬

   ወአንተሰ ፡ ውስተ ፡ ቅዱሳኒከ ፡ ተኀድር ፡ ስቡሐ ፡ እስራኤል ።

   But you dwell among your holy ones, O praised one of Israel.

5. Verse 5.፭

   ኪያከ ፡ ተወከሉ ፡ አበዊነ ፤ ተወከሉከኒ ፡ ወአድኀንኮሙ ።

   In you our fathers trusted; they trusted you, and you delivered them.

6. Verse 6.፮

   ኀቤከ ፡ ጸርኁ ፡ ወድኅኑ ፤ ኪያከ ፡ ተወከሉ ፡ ወኢተኀፍሩ ።

   To you they cried out and were saved; in you they trusted and were not put to shame.

7. Verse 7.፯

   አንሰ ፡ ዕፄ ፡ ወአኮ ፡ ሰብእ ፤ ምኑን ፡ በኀበ ፡ ሰብእ ፡ ወትሑት ፡ በውስተ ፡ ሕዝብ ።

   But I am a worm and not a man, despised among men and lowly among the people.

8. Verse 8.፰

   ኵሎሙ ፡ እለ ፡ ይሬእዩኒ ፡ ይትቃጸቡኒ ፤ ይብሉ ፡ በከናፍሪሆሙ ፡ ወየሐውሱ ፡ ርእሶሙ ።

   All who see me mock me; they speak with their lips and they shake their heads.

9. Verse 9.፱

   ተወከለ ፡ በእግዚአብሔር ፡ ለያድኅኖ ፤ ወያድኅኖ ፡ እመ ፡ ይፈቅዶ ።

   He trusted in Yahweh; let him deliver him, and let him save him, if he delights in him.

10. Verse 10.፲

    እስመ ፡ እንተ ፡ አውፃእከኒ ፡ እምከርሥ ፤ ወተወከልኩከ ፡ እንዘ ፡ ሀለውኩ ፡ ውስተ ፡ አጥባተ ፡ እምየ ።

    For you are the one who drew me out of the womb; and I trusted you while I was at my mother's breasts.

11. Verse 11.፲፩

    ላዕሌከ ፡ ተገደፍኩ ፡ እማኅፀን ፤ እምከርሠ ፡ እምየ ፡ አንተ ፡ አምላኪየ ።

    Upon you I was cast from the womb; from my mother's belly you are my God.

12. Verse 12.፲፪

    ኢትርሐቅ ፡ እምኔየ ፡ እስመ ፡ አልጸቁ ፡ እትመንድብ ፤ እስመ ፡ አልቦ ፡ ዘይረድአኒ ።

    Do not be far from me, for trouble has drawn near and I am afflicted; for there is no one to help me.

13. Verse 13.፲፫

    ዐገቱኒ ፡ አልህምት ፡ ብዙኃን ፤ ወአኀዙኒ ፡ አስዋር ፡ ሥቡሓን ፤

    Many bulls have surrounded me; and fat bulls have seized me;

14. Verse 14.፲፬

    ወአብቀዉ ፡ አፉሆሙ ፡ ላዕሌየ ፤ ከመ ፡ አንበሳ ፡ ዘጽኑሕ ፡ ለመሲጥ ።

    and they have opened their mouths against me, like a lion that is eager to tear.

15. Verse 14.፲፬

    ተከዐውኩ ፡ ከመ ፡ ማይ ፡ ወተዘርወ ፡ ኵሉ ፡ አዕጽምትየ ። ወኮነ ፡ ልብየ ፡ ከመ ፡ ሰምዕ ፡ ዘይትመሰው ፡ በማእከለ ፡ ከርሥየ ።

    I am poured out like water, and all my bones are scattered. And my heart has become like wax, melting in the midst of my belly.

16. Verse 16.፲፮

    ወየብሰ ፡ ከመ ፡ ገልዕ ፡ ኀይልየ ፡ ወጠግዕ ፡ ልሳንየ ፡ በጕርዔየ ፤ ወአውረድከኒ ፡ ውስተ ፡ መሬተ ፡ ሞት ።

    And my strength is dried up like a potsherd, and my tongue cleaves to my throat; and you have brought me down to the dust of death.

17. Verse 17.፲፯

    ዐገቱኒ ፡ ከለባት ፡ ብዙኃን ፤ ወአኀዙኒ ፡ ማኅበሮሙ ፡ ለእኩያን ። ቀነዉኒ ፡ እደውየ ፡ ወእገርየ ።

    Many dogs have surrounded me; and a band of evildoers has seized me. They have pierced my hands and my feet.

18. Verse 18.፲፰

    ወኈለቁ ፡ ኵሎ ፡ አዕጽምትየ ። እሙንተሰ ፡ ጠይቆሙ ፡ ተዐወሩኒ ።

    And they have counted all my bones. They themselves looked closely and gazed upon me.

19. Verse 19.፲፱

    ወተካፈሉ ፡ አልባስየ ፡ ለርእሶሙ ፤ ወተዓፀዉ ፡ ዲበ ፡ ዐራዝየ ።

    And they divided my garments among themselves; and over my clothing they cast lots.

20. Verse 20.፳

    አንተ ፡ እግዚኦ ፡ ኢትርሐቅ ፡ እምኔየ ፤ ወነጽር ፡ ውስተ ፡ ረዱኦትየ ።

    But you, O Lord, do not be far from me; and look to my help.

21. Verse 21.፳፩

    አድኅና ፡ አምኲናት ፡ ለነፍስየ ። ወእምእደ ፡ ከለባት ፡ ለብሕቱትየ ።

    Deliver my soul from the sword. And my only one from the power of the dogs.

22. Verse 22.፳፪

    አድኅነኒ ፡ እምአፈ ፡ አንበሳ ፤ ወእምአቅርንት ፡ ዘአሐዱ ፡ ቀርኑ ፡ ለብሕቱትየ ።

    Save me from the mouth of the lion; and my only one from the horns of the unicorn [the single-horned beast].

23. Verse 23.፳፫

    እነግሮሙ ፡ ስምከ ፡ ለአኀውየ ፤ ወበማእከለ ፡ ማኅበር ፡ እሴብሐከ ።

    I will declare your name to my brothers; and in the midst of the assembly I will praise you.

24. Verse 24.፳፬

    እለ ፡ ትፈርህዎ ፡ ልእግዚአብሔር ፡ ሰብሕዎ ፤ ኵልክሙ ፡ ዘርዐ ፡ ያዕቆብ ፡ አክብርዎ ፤ ወፍርህዎ ፡ ኵልክሙ ፡ ዘርዕ ፡ እስራኤል ።

    You who fear Yahweh, praise him; all you seed of Jacob, honor him; and fear him, all you seed of Israel.

25. Verse 25.፳፭

    እስመ ፡ ኢመነነ ፡ ወኢተቈጥዐ ፡ ስእለተ ፡ ነዳይ ፤ ወኢሜጠ ፡ ገጾ ፡ እምኔየ ፤ ሶበ ፡ ጸራኅኩ ፡ ኀቤሁ ፡ ይሰምዐኒ ።

    For he has not despised nor disdained the plea of the poor; nor has he turned his face from me; when I cried out to him, he heard me.

26. Verse 26.፳፮

    እምኀቤከ ፡ ክብርየ ፡ በማኅበር ፡ ዐቢይ ፤ ወእሁብ ፡ ብፅአትየ ፡ በቅድመ ፡ እለ ፡ ይፈርህዎ ።

    From you is my praise in the great assembly; and I will pay my vows before those who fear him.

27. Verse 27.፳፯

    ይብልዑ ፡ ነዳያን ፡ ወይጽገቡ ፡ ወይሴብሕዎ ፡ ለእግዚአብሔር ፡ ኵሎሙ ፡ እለ ፡ የኀሥዎ ፤ ወየሐዩ ፡ ልቦሙ ፡ ለዓለመ ፡ ዓለም ።

    The poor shall eat and be satisfied, and those who seek him shall praise Yahweh; and their hearts shall live forever and ever.

28. Verse 28.፳፰

    ወይዝክሩ ፡ ወይትመየጡ ፡ ኀበ ፡ እግዚአብሔር ፡ ኵሎሙ ፡ አጽናፈ ፡ ምድር ፤ ወይስግዱ ፡ ቅድሜሁ ፡ ኵሎሙ፡ በሐውርተ ፡ አሕዛብ ።

    And all the ends of the earth shall remember and turn back to Yahweh; and all the families of the nations shall bow down before him.

29. Verse 29.፳፱

    እስመ ፡ ለእግዚአብሔር ፡ መንግሥት ፤ ወውእቱ ፡ ይኴንኖሙ ፡ ለአሕዛብ ።

    For the kingdom is Yahweh's; and he rules over the nations.

30. Verse 30.፴

    ብልዑ ፡ ወስግዱ ፡ ኵልክሙ ፡ ጥሉላነ ፡ ምድር ፡ ቅድሜሁ ፡ ይወድቁ ፡ ኵሎሙ ፡ እለ ፡ ይወርዱ ፡ ውስተ ፡ ምድር ፤ ወነፍስየኒ ፡ ሎቱ ፡ ተሐዩ ።

    Eat and worship, all you fat ones of the earth; before him shall fall all who go down into the earth; and my soul lives for him.

31. Verse 31.፴፩

    ወዘርዕየኒ ፡ ሎቱ ፡ ይትቀነይ ፤ ትዜንዎ ፡ ለእግዚአብሔር ፡ ትውልድ ፡ እንተ ፡ ትመጽእ ።

    And my seed shall serve him; the generation that is to come shall be told of Yahweh.

32. Verse 32.፴፪

    ወይዜንዉ ፡ ጽድቀ ፡ ዚአሁ ፤ ሕዝብ ፡ ዘይትወለድ ፡ ዘገብረ ፡ እግዚአብሔር ።

    And they shall declare his righteousness; to a people that shall be born, what Yahweh has done.
