መዝሙር ፲፯

1. Verse 1.፩

   ፍጻሜ ፡ ዘገብረ ፡ እግዚአብሔር ፡ ዘዳዊት ። ዘተናገሮ ፡ ለእግዚአብሔር ፡ በቃለ ፡ ማኅሌት ፤ በዕለተ ፡ አድኅኖ ፡ እግዚአብሔር ፡ እምእደ ፡ ኵሎሙ ፡ ጸላእቱ ፡ ወእምእደ ፡ ሳኦል ፡ 2 ወይቤ ። ኣፈቅረከ ፡ እግዚኦ ፡ በኀይልየ ።

   To the end. Of the servant of Yahweh, of David, who spoke to Yahweh with words of song, in the day when Yahweh delivered him from the hand of all his enemies and from the hand of Saul, and he said: I love you, O Yahweh, my strength.

2. Verse 3.፫

   እግዚአብሔር ፡ ኀይልየ ፡ ወጸወንየ ፡ ወመድኀኒየ ። አምላኪየ ፡ ወረዳኢየ ፡ ወእትዌከል ፡ ቦቱ ፤ ምእመንየ ፡ ወቀርነ ፡ ሕይወትየ ፡ ወምስካይየ ።

   Yahweh is my strength and my refuge and my deliverer. My God and my helper, and I will trust in him; my support and the horn of my life and my upholder.

3. Verse 4.፬

   እንተ ፡ ሶበ ፡ ጸዋዕክዎ ፡ ለእግዚአብሔር ፤ እድኅን ፡ እምፀርየ ።

   When I called upon Yahweh, I was saved from my enemies.

4. Verse 5.፭

   አኀዘኒ ፡ ጻዕረ ፡ ሞት ፤ ወውሒዘ ፡ ዐመፃ ፡ ሆከኒ ።

   The pangs of death took hold of me; and the torrents of iniquity troubled me.

5. Verse 6.፮

   ወዐገተኒ ፡ ጻዕረ ፡ ሲኦል ፤ ወበጽሐኒ ፡ መሣግረ ፡ ሞት ።

   The pangs of Sheol surrounded me; the snares of death came upon me.

6. Verse 7.፯

   ወሶበ ፡ ተመንድብኩ ፡ ጸዋዕክዎ ፡ ለእግዚአብሔር ፡ ወጸራኅኩ ፡ ኀበ ፡ አምላኪየ ። ወሰምዐኒ ፡ በጽርሐ ፡ መቅደሱ ፡ ቃልየ ፤ ወጽራኅየኒ ፡ ቦአ ፡ ቅድሜሁ ፡ ውስተ ፡ እዝኒሁ ።

   And when I was afflicted, I called upon Yahweh and cried out to my God. And he heard my voice from the temple of his sanctuary; and my cry came before him, into his ears.

7. Verse 8.፰

   ርዕደት ፡ ወአድለቅለቀት ፡ ምድር ፡ ወአንቀልቀሉ ፡ መሰረታተ ፡ አድባር ፤ ወተሀውኩ ፡ እስመ ፡ ተምዖሙ ፡ ለእግዚአብሔር ።

   The earth trembled and quaked, and the foundations of the mountains were shaken and troubled, because Yahweh was angry with them.

8. Verse 9.፱

   ዐርገ ፡ ጢስ ፡ እመዐቱ ፡ ወነደ ፡ እሳት ፡ እምቅድመ ፡ ገጹ ፤ ኀተወ ፡ አፍሓም ፡ እምኔሁ ።

   Smoke went up in his wrath, and fire blazed forth from before his face; coals were kindled by it.

9. Verse 10.፲

   አጽነነ ፡ ሰማያት ፡ ወወረደ ፤ ወቆባር ፡ ታሕተ ፡ እገሪሁ ።

   He bowed the heavens and came down; and thick darkness was under his feet.

10. Verse 11.፲፩

    ተጽእነ ፡ ላዕለ ፡ ኪሩቤል ፡ ወሠረረ ፤ ወሠረረ ፡ በክንፈ ፡ ነፋስ ።

    He mounted upon the cherubim and flew; he soared upon the wings of the wind.

11. Verse 12.፲፪

    ወረሰየ ፡ ጽልመት ፡ ምስዋር ፡ ወዐውዶሂ ፡ ጽላሎቱ ፤ ወጸልሙ ፡ ማያት ፡ በውስተ ፡ ደመናት ።

    And he made darkness his hiding place, and round about him was his canopy; the waters were dark within the clouds.

12. Verse 13.፲፫

    ወእምብርሃነ ፡ ገጹ ፡ ኀለፋ ፡ ደመናት ፡ ቅድሜሁ ፤ በረድ ፡ ወአፍሓመ ፡ እሳት ።

    And at the brightness of his face the clouds passed before him; hail and coals of fire.

13. Verse 14.፲፬

    ወአንጐድጐደ ፡ እግዚአብሔር ፡ በሰማያት ፡ ወልዑል ፡ ወሀበ ፡ ቃሉ ፤

    And Yahweh thundered in the heavens, and the Most High uttered his voice;

14. Verse 15.፲፭

    ፈነወ ፡ አሕፃሁ ፡ ወዘረዎሙ ፡ አብዝኀ ፡ መባርቅቲሁ ፡ ወሀኮሙ ።

    he sent forth his arrows and scattered them; he multiplied his lightnings and confounded them.

15. Verse 16.፲፮

    ወአስተርአየ ፡ አንቅዕተ ፡ ማያት ፡ ወተከሥተ ፡ መሰረታተ ፡ ዓለም ። እምተግሣጽከ ፡ እግዚኦ ፤ ወእምእስትንፋሰ ፡ መንፈሰ ፡ መዐትከ ።

    And the springs of the waters appeared, and the foundations of the world were laid bare, at your rebuke, O Yahweh, and at the blast of the breath of your wrath.

16. Verse 17.፲፯

    ፈነወ ፡ እምአርያም ፡ ወነሥአኒ ፤ ወተመጠወኒ ፡ እማይ ፡ ብዙኅ ።

    He sent from on high and took me; he drew me out of many waters.

17. Verse 18.፲፰

    ወአድኀነኒ ፡ እምፀርየ ፡ ጽኑዓን ፤ ወእምጸላእትየ ፡ እስመ ፡ ይኄይሉኒ ።

    And he delivered me from my mighty enemies, and from those who hate me, for they were stronger than I.

18. Verse 19.፲፱

    ወበጽሑኒ ፡ በዕለተ ፡ መንዳቤየ ፤ ወኮነኒ ፡ እግዚአብሔር ፡ ምስካይየ ።

    They came upon me in the day of my distress; but Yahweh became my upholder.

19. Verse 20.፳

    ወአውፅአኒ ፡ ውስተ ፡ መርሕብ ፤ ወአድኀነኒ ፡ እስመ ፡ ይፈቅደኒ ።

    And he brought me out into a broad place; and he delivered me, for he delighted in me.

20. Verse 21.፳፩

    የዐስየኒ ፡ እግዚአብሔር ፡ በከመ ፡ ጽድቅየ ፤ ወይፈድየኒ ፡ በከመ ፡ ንጹሐ ፡ እደውየ ።

    Yahweh will reward me according to my righteousness; and he will recompense me according to the cleanness of my hands.

21. Verse 22.፳፪

    እስመ ፡ ዐቀብኩ ፡ ፍናዊሁ ፡ ለእግዚአብሔር ፤ ወኢአበስኩ ፡ ለአምላኪየ ።

    For I have kept the ways of Yahweh, and have not sinned against my God.

22. Verse 23.፳፫

    እስመ ፡ ኵሉ ፡ ኵነኔሁ ፡ ቅድሜየ ፡ ውእቱ ፤ ወጽድቁኒ ፡ ኢርሕቀ ፡ እምኔየ ።

    For all his judgments are before me; and his righteousness has not departed from me.

23. Verse 24.፳፬

    ወእከውን ፡ ንጹሐ ፡ ምስሌሁ ፤ ወእትዐቀብ ፡ እምኃጢአትየ ።

    And I shall be blameless with him; and I shall keep myself from my iniquity.

24. Verse 25.፳፭

    የዐስየኒ ፡ እግዚአብሔር ፡ በከመ ፡ ጽድቅየ ፤ ወይፈድየኒ ፡ በከመ ፡ ንጹሐ ፡ እደውየ ፡ በቅድመ ፡ አዕይንቲሁ ።

    Yahweh will reward me according to my righteousness; and he will recompense me according to the cleanness of my hands before his eyes.

25. Verse 26.፳፮

    ምስለ ፡ ጻድቅ ፡ ትጸድቅ ፤ ወምስለ ፡ ብእሲ ፡ ንጹሕ ፡ ንጹሐ ፡ ትከውን ።

    With the righteous you will be righteous; and with the pure man you will be pure.

26. Verse 27.፳፯

    ወምስለ ፡ ኅሩይ ፡ ኅሩየ ፡ ትከውን ፤ ወምስለ ፡ ጠዋይ ፡ ትጠዊ ።

    And with the chosen you will be chosen; and with the crooked you will be perverse.

27. Verse 28.፳፰

    እስመ ፡ አንተ ፡ እግዚኦ ፡ ታድኅኖ ፡ ለሕዝብ ፡ ትሑት ፤ ወታኀስሮሙ ፡ ለአዕይንተ ፡ ዕቡያን ።

    For you, O Yahweh, will save the humble people; but you will bring low the eyes of the proud.

28. Verse 29.፳፱

    እስመ ፡ አንተ ፡ ታብርህ ፡ ማኅቶትየ ፡ እግዚኦ ፡ አምላኪየ ፡ ያበርህ ፡ ጽልመትየ ።

    For you will light my lamp, O Yahweh; my God will enlighten my darkness.

29. Verse 30.፴

    እስመ ፡ ብከ ፡ እድኅን ፡ እመንሱት ፤ ወበአምላኪየ ፡ እትዐደዋ ፡ ለአረፍት ።

    For by you I shall be delivered from temptation; and by my God I shall leap over a wall.

30. Verse 31.፴፩

    ለአምላኪየሰ ፡ ንጹሕ ፡ ፍኖቱ ። ቃል ፡ እግዚአብሔር ፡ ርሱን ፤ ወምእመኖሙ ፡ ውእቱ ፡ ለኵሎሙ ፡ እለ ፡ ይትዌከሉ ፡ ቦቱ ።

    As for my God, his way is pure. The word of Yahweh is tried; he is the protector of all who hope in him.

31. Verse 32.፴፪

    ወኑ ፡ ውእቱ ፡ አምላክ ፡ ዘእንበለ ፡ እግዚአብሔር ፤ ወመኑ ፡ እግዚአብሔር ፡ ዘእንበለ ፡ አምላክነ ።

    For who is God but Yahweh? And who is Yahweh but our God?

32. Verse 33.፴፫

    እግዚአብሔር ፡ ዘያቀንተኒ ፡ ኀይለ ፤ ወረሰያ ፡ ንጹሐ ፡ ለፍኖተየ ።

    It is Yahweh who girds me with strength, and has made my way pure.

33. Verse 34.፴፬

    ዘያረትዖን ፡ ከመ ፡ ኀየል ፡ ለእገርየ ፤ ወያቀውመኒ ፡ ውስተ ፡ መልዕልት ።

    Who makes my feet straight like a deer's, and sets me upon the heights.

34. Verse 35.፴፭

    ዘይሜህሮን ፡ ፀብአ ፡ ለእደውየ ፤ ወረሰየ ፡ ቀስተ ፡ ብርት ፡ ለመዝራዕትየ ።

    Who trains my hands for battle; and has made my arms a bow of bronze.

35. Verse 36.፴፮

    ወወሀበኒ ፡ ምእመነ ፡ ለመድኀኒትየ ። ወየማንከ ፡ ተወክፈኒ ፤ ወትምህርትከ ፡ ያጸንዐኒ ፡ ለዝሉፉ ። ወተግሣጽከ ፡ ውእቱ ፡ ዘይሜህረኒ ።

    And he gave me the protection of my salvation. And your right hand received me; and your discipline upholds me forever. And your instruction, it teaches me.

36. Verse 37.፴፯

    ወአርሐብከ ፡ መካይድየ ፡ በመትሕቴየ ፤ ወኢደክማ ፡ ሰኩናየ ።

    And you enlarged my steps beneath me; and my footsteps did not weaken.

37. Verse 38.፴፰

    እዴግኖሙ ፡ ለፀርየ ፡ ወእኅዞሙ ፤ ወኢይትመየጥ ፡ እስከ ፡ ኣጠፍኦሙ ።

    I will pursue my enemies and overtake them; and I will not turn back until I destroy them.

38. Verse 39.፴፱

    ኣመነድቦሙ ፡ ወኢይድክሉ ፡ ቀዊመ ፤ ወይወድቁ ፡ ታሕተ ፡ እገርየ ።

    I will shatter them, and they shall not be able to stand; and they shall fall under my feet.

39. Verse 40.፵

    ወታቀንተኒ ፡ ኀይለ ፡ በፀብእ ፤ አዕቀጽኮሙ ፡ ለኵሎሙ ፡ እለ ፡ ቆሙ ፡ ላዕሌየ ፡ በመትሕቴየ ።

    And you girded me with strength for battle; you overthrew under me all who rose up against me.

40. Verse 41.፵፩

    ወመጠውከኒ ፡ ዘባኖሙ ፡ ለፀርየ ፤ ወሠረውኮሙ ፡ ለጸላእትየ ።

    And you gave me the backs of my enemies; and those who hate me you uprooted.

41. Verse 42.፵፪

    ዐውየዉ ፡ ወኀጥኡ ፡ ዘይረድኦሙ ፤ ኀበ ፡ እግዚአብሔር ፡ ወኢሰምዖሙ ።

    They cried out, but there was none to help them; to Yahweh, but he did not hear them.

42. Verse 43.፵፫

    አኀርጾሙ ፡ ከመ ፡ ጸበል ፡ ዘቅድመ ፡ ገጸ ፡ ነፋስ ፤ ወእኪይዶሙ ፡ ከመ ፡ ጽንጕነ ፡ መርሕብ ።

    I will grind them like dust before the face of the wind; I will trample them like the mire of the streets.

43. Verse 44.፵፬

    አድኅነኒ ፡ እምነቢበ ፡ አሕዛብ ። ወትሠይመኒ ፡ ውስተ ፡ ርእሰ ፡ ሕዝብ ፤

    Deliver me from the contentions of the peoples. And you will set me at the head of the nations;

44. Verse 45.፵፭

    ሕዝብ ፡ ዘኢያአምር ፡ ተቀንየ ፡ ሊተ ። ውስተ ፡ ምስማዐ ፡ እዝን ፡ ተሠጥዉኒ ፤

    a people whom I did not know served me. At the hearing of the ear they obeyed me;

45. Verse 46.፵፮

    ውሉደ ፡ ነኪር ፡ ሐሰዉኒ ። ውሉደ ፡ ነኪር ፡ በልዩ ፤ ወሐንከሱ ፡ በፍኖቶሙ ።

    the sons of strangers lied to me. The sons of strangers grew old, and they limped from their ways.

46. Verse 47.፵፯

    ሕያው ፡ እግዚአብሔር ፡ ወቡሩክ ፡ አምላኪየ ፤ ወተለዐለ ፡ አምላከ ፡ መድኀኒትየ ።

    Yahweh lives, and blessed is my God; and exalted be the God of my salvation.

47. Verse 48.፵፰

    አምላኪየ ፡ ያገብእ ፡ በቀልየ ፤ ወአግረረ ፡ ሊተ ፡ አሕዛበ ፡ በመትሕቴየ ። ዘይባልሐኒ ፡ እምጸላእትየ ፡ ምንስዋን ፡

    My God, who avenges me, and has subdued the peoples under me; who delivers me from my enemies, the contentious.

48. Verse 49.፵፱

    ወዘያሌዕለኒ ፡ እምእለ ፡ ቆሙ ፡ ላዕሌየ ፤ እምብእሲ ፡ ገፋዒ ፡ ባልሐኒ ።

    And he lifts me up above those who rose up against me; from the man of violence he delivers me.

49. Verse 50.፶

    በእንተዝ ፡ እገኒ ፡ ለከ ፡ በውስተ ፡ አሕዛብ ፡ እግዚኦ ፤ ወእዜምር ፡ ለስምከ ።

    Therefore I will confess to you among the nations, O Yahweh; and I will sing to your name,

50. Verse 51.፶፩

    ዘያዐብያ ፡ ለመድኀኒተ ፡ ንጉሥ ። ወይገብር ፡ ምሕረቶ ፡ ለመሲሑ ፡ ለዳዊት ፡ ወለዘርዑ ፡ እስከ ፡ ለዓለም ።

    who magnifies the salvation of his king, and shows mercy to his anointed, to David and to his seed forever.
