- Verse 1.
ዘዳዊት ፡ ዘአመ ፡ ይትባአስ ፡ ምስለ ፡ ጎልያድ ። ይትባረክ ፡ እግዚአብሔር ፡ አምላኪየ ፡ ዘመሀሮን ፡ ፀብአ ፡ ለእደውየ ፤ ወቀትለ ፡ ለአጻብእየ ።
Of David, when he fought with Goliath. Blessed be Yahweh my God, who teaches my hands for war and my fingers for battle.
- Verse 2.
መሓሪየ ፡ ወጸወንየ ፡ ምስካይየ ፡ ወመድኀኒየ ፤ ምእመንየ ፡ ወኪያሁ ፡ ተወከልኩ ፡ ዘያገርር ፡ ሊተ ፡ አሕዛበ ፡ በመትሕቴየ ።
My mercy and my refuge, my support and my deliverer; my protector, and in him I have trusted, who subdues the peoples under me.
- Verse 3.
እግዚኦ ፡ ምንትኑ ፡ ውእቱ ፡ ሰብእ ፡ ከመ ፡ ታስተርኢ ፡ ሎቱ ፤ ወእጓለ ፡ እመሕያው ፡ ዘተሐስቦ ።
O Yahweh, what is man that you should be made known to him, or the son of man that you should regard him?
- Verse 4.
ሰብእሰ ፡ ከንቶ ፡ ይመስል ፤ ወመዋዕሊሁኒ ፡ ከመ ፡ ጽላሎት ፡ የኀልፍ ።
Man is like a breath; and his days pass away like a shadow.
- Verse 5.
እግዚኦ ፡ አጽንን ፡ ሰማያቲከ ፡ ወረድ ፤ ግስሶሙ ፡ ለአድባር ፡ ወይጠይሱ ።
O Yahweh, bow down your heavens and come down; touch the mountains, and they shall smoke.
- Verse 6.
አብርቅ ፡ መባርቅቲከ ፡ ወዝርዎሙ ፤ ፈኑ ፡ አሕጻከ ፡ ወሁኮሙ ፤
Flash forth your lightnings and scatter them; send out your arrows and confound them.
- Verse 7.
ፈኑ ፡ እዴከ ፡ እምአርያም ፤ አድኅነኒ ፡ ወባልሐኒ ፡ እማይ ፡ ብዙኅ ፡ ወእምእዴሆሙ ፡ ለደቂቀ ፡ ነኪር ።
Send out your hand from on high; deliver me and rescue me from the many waters, and from the hand of the sons of the foreigner,
- Verse 8.
እለ ፡ ከንቶ ፡ ነበበ ፡ አፉሆሙ ፤ ወየማኖሙኒ ፡ የማነ ፡ ዐመፃ ።
whose mouth has spoken vanity, and whose right hand is a right hand of falsehood.
- Verse 9.
እግዚኦ ፡ ስብሐተ ፡ ሐዲሰ ፡ እሴብሐከ ፤ ወበመዝሙር ፡ ዘዐሠርቱ ፡ አውታሪሁ ፡ እዜምር ፡ ለከ ።
O Yahweh, a new song I will sing to you; on a harp of ten strings I will make music to you.
- Verse 10.
ዘይሁቦሙ ፡ ለነገሥት ፡ መድኀኒተ ፤ ዘአድኀኖ ፡ ለዳዊት ፡ ገብሩ ፡ አምኲናት ፡ እኪት ።
He who gives salvation to kings, who delivered David his servant from the evil sword.
- Verse 11.
አድኅነኒ ፡ ወባልሐኒ ፡ እምእዲሆሙ ፡ ለደቂቀ ፡ ነኪር ፤ እለ ፡ ከንቶ ፡ ነበበ ፡ አፉሆሙ ። ወየማኖሙኒ ፡ የማነ ፡ ዐመፃ ።
Deliver me and rescue me from the hand of the sons of the foreigner, whose mouth has spoken vanity, and whose right hand is a right hand of falsehood.
- Verse 12.
እለ ፡ ደቂቆሙ ፡ ከመ ፡ ተክል ፡ ሐዲስ ፡ ጽኑዓን ፡ በውርዙቶሙ ፤ ወአዋልዲሆሙኒ ፡ ርሱያት ፡ ወስርግዋት ፡ ከመ ፡ እንተ ፡ ጽርሕ ።
Whose sons are like a new plant, sturdy in their youth; and whose daughters are adorned and decked out like the likeness of a temple.
- Verse 13.
ወአብያቲሆሙኒ ፡ ምሉእ ፡ ወይሰወጥ ፡ እምዝ ፡ ውስተዝ ፤ ወአባግዒሆሙኒ ፡ ብዙኀ ፡ ይትዋለዱ ፡ ወይትባዝኃ ፡ በሙፋሪሆን ።
And whose storehouses are full, overflowing from this into that; and whose sheep are fruitful, multiplying greatly in their pastures.
- Verse 14.
ወአልህምቲሆሙኒ ፡ ሥቡሓን ፤ ወአልቦ ፡ ድቀተ ፡ ለቅጽሮሙ ፡ ወአልቦ ፡ እንተ ፡ ኀበ ፡ ያበውእዎሙ ፤ ወአልቦ ፡ ዐውያተ ፡ ውስተ ፡ ሀገሮሙ ።
And whose oxen are fat; and there is no breach in their wall, and none to whom they are carried off into captivity, and no cry of distress in their streets.
- Verse 15.
አስተብፅዕዎ ፡ ለዘ ፡ ከመዝ ፡ ሕዝብ ፤ ብፁዕ ፡ ሕዝብ ፡ ዘእግዚአብሔር ፡ አምላኩ ።
They called the people who are like this blessed; blessed is the people whose God is Yahweh.
