መዝሙር ፻፵፩

1. Verse 1.፩

   ኣእምሮ ፡ ዘዳዊት ፤ አመ ፡ ሀሎ ፡ ውስተ ፡ በአት ።

   An instruction of David, when he was in the cave.

2. Verse 2.፪

   ቃልየ ፡ ኀበ ፡ እግዚአብሔር ፡ ጸራኅኩ ፤ ቃልየ ፡ ኀበ ፡ እግዚአብሔር ፡ ሰአልኩ ።

   With my voice I cried out to Yahweh; with my voice I made supplication to Yahweh.

3. Verse 3.፫

   ወእክዑ ፡ ቅድሜሁ ፡ ስእለትየ ፤ ወእነግር ፡ ቅድሜሁ ፡ ሕማምየ ።

   And I will pour out my supplication before him; and I will declare my affliction before him.

4. Verse 4.፬

   ሶበ ፡ ተኀልቅ ፡ ነፍስየ ፡ በላዕሌየ ፤ አንተ ፡ እግዚኦ ፡ ታአምር ፡ ፍናትየ ፤ በዛቲ ፡ ፍኖት ፡ እንተ ፡ ሖርኩ ፡ ኀብኡ ፡ ሊተ ፡ መሥገርተ ።

   When my soul fainted within me, you, O Yahweh, knew my paths; in this way that I walked they have hidden a snare for me.

5. Verse 5.፭

   ተመየጥኩ ፡ መንገለ ፡ የማንየ ፡ ወርኢኩ ፤ ወኀጣእኩ ፡ ዘያአምረኒ ፤ ወኀበሂ ፡ ኣመስጥ ፡ አልብየ ፡ ወአልቦ ፡ ዘይትኃሠሥ ፡ በእንተ ፡ ነፍስይ ።

   I looked toward my right hand and saw, but there was none who knew me; refuge has failed me, and there is no one who seeks after my soul.

6. Verse 6.፮

   ኀቤከ ፡ እግዚኦ ፡ ጸራኅኩ ፤ ወእቤለከ ፡ አንተ ፡ ተስፋየ ፤ ወአንተ ፡ መክፈልትየ ፡ በምድረ ፡ ሕያዋን ።

   To you, O Yahweh, I cried out; and I said, You are my hope, and my portion in the land of the living.

7. Verse 7.፯

   ነጽር ፡ ስእለትየ ፡ እስመ ፡ ሐመምኩ ፡ ፈድፋደ ፤ አድኅነኒ ፡ እምእለ ፡ ሮዱኒ ፡ እስመ ፡ ይኄይሉኒ ።

   Attend to my supplication, for I am brought very low; deliver me from those who pursue me, for they are stronger than I.

8. Verse 8.፰

   ወአውፅኣ ፡ እሞቅሕ ፡ ለነፍስየ ፡ ከመ ፡ እግነይ ፡ ለስምከ ፡ እግዚኦ ፤ ኪያየ ፡ ይፀንሑ ፡ ጻድቃን ፡ እስከ ፡ ሶበ ፡ ተዐስየኒ ።

   And bring my soul out of prison, that I may give thanks to your name, O Yahweh; the righteous shall wait for me until you reward me.
