  1. Verse 1.

    መዝሙር ፡ ዘዳዊት ። እግዚኦ ፡ ጸራኅኩ ፡ ኀቤከ ፡ ስምዐኒ ፤ ወአፅምእ ፡ ቃለ ፡ ስእለትየ ፡ ዘጸራኅኩ ፡ ኀቤከ ።

    A psalm of David. O Yahweh, I have cried out to you, hear me; and give ear to the voice of my supplication when I cry out to you.

  2. Verse 2.

    ተወከፈኒ ፡ ጸሎትየ ፡ ከመ ፡ ዕጣን ፡ በቅድሜከ ፤ አንሥኦ ፡ እደውየ ፡ መሥዋዕተ ፡ ሰርክ ።

    Let my prayer be received as incense before you; let the lifting up of my hands be an evening sacrifice.

  3. Verse 3.

    ሢም ፡ እግዚኦ ፡ ዐቃቤ ፡ ለአፉየ ፤ ወማዕጾ ፡ ዘዐቅም ፡ ለከናፍርየ ።

    Set, O Yahweh, a guard for my mouth, and a watch of restraint over my lips.

  4. Verse 4.

    ኢትሚጦ ፡ ለልብየ ፡ ውስተ ፡ ነገር ፡ እኩይ ፡ ወአመክንዮ ፡ ምክንያት ፡ ለኃጢአት ፡ ምስለ ፡ ሰብእ ፡ ገበርተ ፡ ዐመፃ ፤ ወኢይትኀበር ፡ ምስለ ፡ ኅሩያኒሆሙ ።

    Do not turn my heart aside to an evil matter, to make excuses for sins with men who work iniquity; and let me not join with their chosen ones.

  5. Verse 5.

    ገሥጸኒ ፡ በጽድቅ ፡ ወተዛለፈኒ ፡ በምሕረት ፤ ወቅብአ ፡ ኃጥኣንሰ ፡ ኢይትቀባእ ፡ ርእስየ ። እስመ ፡ ዓዲ ፡ ጸሎትየኒ ፡ ከመ ፡ ኢተሣሀሎሙ ፤

    Chasten me in righteousness, and reprove me in mercy; but let not the oil of the wicked anoint my head, for still my prayer is against their evil deeds.

  6. Verse 6.

    ተሰጥሙ ፡ በጥቃ ፡ ኰኵሕ ፡ ጽኑዓኒሆሙ ። ሰምዑኒ ፡ ቃልየ ፡ እስመ ፡ ተክህለኒ ።

    Their mighty ones were swallowed up beside the rock; they shall hear my words, for they have prevailed against me.

  7. Verse 7.

    ከመ ፡ ግዝፈ ፡ ምድር ፡ ተሠጥቁ ፡ ዲበ ፡ ምድር ፤ ወተዘርወ ፡ አዕጽምቲሆሙ ፡ በኀበ ፡ ሲኦል ፡

    As the thickness of the earth is split open upon the ground, so their bones were scattered beside Sheol.

  8. Verse 8.

    እስመ ፡ ኀቤከ ፡ እግዚኦ ፡ እግዚኦ ፡ አዕይንትየ ፤ ብከ ፡ ተወከልኩ ፡ ኢታውፅኣ ፡ ለነፍስየ ።

    For to you, O Yahweh, O Yahweh, are my eyes; in you I have trusted, do not pour out my soul.

  9. Verse 9.

    ዕቀበኒ ፡ አመሥገርት ፡ እንተ ፡ ኀብኡ ፡ ሊተ ፤ ወእማዕቀፎሙ ፡ ለገበርተ ፡ ዐመፃ ።

    Keep me from the snare that they have hidden for me, and from the traps of the workers of iniquity.

  10. Verse 10.

    ለይደቁ ፡ ውስተ ፡ መሥገርቶሙ ፡ ኃጥኣን ፤ እስመ ፡ አኀልፍ ፡ አነ ፡ ባሕቲትየ ።

    Let the wicked fall into their own snares, while I alone pass over.
