መዝሙር ፻፴፮

1. Verse 1.፩

   ዘዳዊት ። ውስተ ፡ አፍላገ ፡ ባቢሎን ፡ ህየ ፡ ነበርነ ፡ ወበከይነ ፤ ሶበ ፡ ተዘከርናሃ ፡ ለጽዮን ።

   Of David. By the rivers of Babylon, there we sat down and wept, when we remembered Zion.

2. Verse 2.፪

   ውስተ ፡ ኲሓቲሃ ፡ ሰቀልነ ፡ ዕንዚራቲነ ።

   Upon the willows in her midst we hung up our harps.

3. Verse 3.፫

   እስመ ፡ በህየ ፡ ተስእሉነ ፡ እለ ፡ ፄወዉነ ፡ ነገረ ፡ ማኅሌት ፡ ወእለሂ ፡ ይወስዱነ ፡ ይቤሉነ ፡ ኅልዩ ፡ ለነ ፡ እምኃልዪሃ ፡ ለጽዮን ።

   For there those who had taken us captive asked of us words of song, and those who carried us away said to us, “Sing for us from the songs of Zion.”

4. Verse 4.፬

   ወእፈ ፡ ነኀሊ ፡ ማኅሌተ ፡ እግዚአብሔር ፡ በምድረ ፡ ነኪር ።

   But how shall we sing the song of Yahweh in a foreign land?

5. Verse 5.፭

   እመሰ ፡ ረሳዕኩኪ ፡ ኢየሩሳሌም ፡ ለትርስዐኒ ፡ የማንየ ።

   If I forget you, O Jerusalem, let my right hand be forgotten.

6. Verse 6.፮

   ወይጥጋዕ ፡ ልሳንየ ፡ በጕርዔየ ፡ ለእመ ፡ ኢተዘከርኩኪ ፤ ወለእመ ፡ ኢበፃእኩ ፡ ለኢየሩሳሌም ፡ በቀዳሚ ፡ ትፍሥሕትየ ።

   And let my tongue cleave to my throat, if I do not remember you, and if I do not set Jerusalem at the head of my rejoicing.

7. Verse 7.፯

   ተዘከሮሙ ፡ እግዚኦ ፡ ለደቂቀ ፡ ኤዶም ፡ በዕለተ ፡ ኢየሩሳሌም ። እለ ፡ ይብሉ ፡ ንሥቱ ፡ ንሥቱ ፡ እስከ ፡ መሰረታቲሃ ።

   Remember, O Yahweh, the sons of Edom on the day of Jerusalem, those who said, “Tear it down, tear it down, even to its foundations.”

8. Verse 8.፰

   ወለተ ፡ ባቢሎን ፡ ኅስርት ፤ ብፁዕ ፡ ዘይትቤቀለኪ ፡ በቀለ ፡ ተበቀልክነ ።

   O daughter of Babylon, you wretched one; blessed is he who repays you the recompense with which you repaid us.

9. Verse 9.፱

   ብፁዕ ፡ ዘይእኅዞሙ ፡ ለደቂቅኪ ፡ ወይነፅኆሙ ፡ ውስተ ፡ ኰኵሕ ።

   Blessed is he who seizes your children and dashes them against the rock.
