መዝሙር ፻፳፰

1. Verse 1.፩

   ማኅሌት ፡ ዘበመዓርጊሁ ። ዘልፈ ፡ ይፀብኡኒ ፡ እምንእስየ ፤ ይብል ፡ እስራኤል ።

   A Song of the Ascents. Often have they warred against me from my youth, let Israel now say.

2. Verse 2.፪

   ዘልፈ ፡ ይፀብኡኒ ፡ እምንእስየ ፤ ወባሕቱ ፡ ኢክህሉኒ ።

   Often have they warred against me from my youth, yet they did not prevail against me.

3. Verse 3.፫

   ዲበ ፡ ዘባንየ ፡ ዘበጡ ፡ ኃጥኣን ፤ ወአስተርሐቅዋ ፡ ለኃጢአቶሙ ።

   Upon my back the wicked struck, and they prolonged their iniquity.

4. Verse 4.፬

   እግዚአብሔር ፡ ጻድቅ ፡ ሰበረ ፡ አሕዳፊሆሙ ፡ ለኃጥኣን ።

   Yahweh is righteous; he has broken the necks of the wicked.

5. Verse 5.፭

   ይትኀፈሩ ፡ ወይግብኡ ፡ ድኅሬሆሙ ፤ ኵሎሙ ፡ እለ ፡ ይጸልእዋ ፡ ለጽዮን ።

   Let them be ashamed and turned back, all those who hate Zion.

6. Verse 6.፮

   ወይኩኑ ፡ ከመ ፡ ሣዕረ ፡ አንሕስት ፤ ወይየብስ ፡ ዘእንበለ ፡ ይምሐውዎ ።

   And let them be like the grass on the housetops, which withers before it is plucked up,

7. Verse 7.፯

   ወኢይመልእ ፡ እዴሁ ፡ ለዘ ፡ የዐፅዶ ፤ ወኢሕፅኖ ፡ ለዘ ፡ ያስተጋብእ ፡ ከላስስቲሁ ።

   with which the reaper does not fill his hand, nor he who gathers the sheaves his bosom.

8. Verse 8.፰

   ወኢይበሉ ፡ እለ ፡ የኀልፉ ፡ በረከተ ፡ እግዚአብሔር ፡ ምስሌሆሙ ፤ ባረክናክሙ ፡ በስመ ፡ እግዚአብሔር ።

   And those who pass by do not say, The blessing of Yahweh be upon you; we bless you in the name of Yahweh.
