መዝሙር ፻፳፫

1. Verse 1.፩

   ማኅሌት ፡ ዘበመዓርጊሁ ። ሶበ ፡ አኮ ፡ እግዚአብሔር ፡ ምስሌነ ፤ ይብል ፡ እስራኤል ።

   A Song of the Ascents. Had Yahweh not been with us, let Israel now say,

2. Verse 2.፪

   ሶበ ፡ አኮ ፡ እግዚአብሔር ፡ ምስሌነ ፤ እንተ ፡ ጊዜ ፡ ተንሥአ ፡ ሰብእ ፡ ላዕሌነ ።

   had Yahweh not been with us when men rose up against us,

3. Verse 3.፫

   አሕዛብ ፡ ሕያዋኒነ ፡ እምውኅጡነ ፤ በከመ ፡ አንሥኡ ፡ ቍጥዓ ፡ መዐቶሙ ፡ ላዕሌነ ።

   the nations would have swallowed us alive, when their wrath was kindled in anger against us.

4. Verse 4.፬

   አሕዛብ ፡ በማይ ፡ እምአስጠሙነ ፤ እምውሒዝ ፡ አምሰጠት ፡ ነፍስነ ።

   The waters would have drowned us; our soul would have escaped from the torrent.

5. Verse 5.፭

   አምሰየት ፡ ነፍስነ ፡ እማየ ፡ ሀከክ ።

   Our soul passed through the raging waters.

6. Verse 6.፮

   ይትባረክ ፡ እግዚአብሔር ፡ አምላክነ ፤ ዘኢያግብአነ ፡ ውስተ ፡ መሥገርተ ፡ ማዕገቶሙ ።

   Blessed be Yahweh our God, who did not give us up into the snare of their teeth.

7. Verse 7.፯

   ነፍስነሰ ፡ አምሰጠት ፡ ከመ ፡ ዖፍ ፡ እመሥገርት ፡ ነዓዊት ፤ መሥገርትሰ ፡ ተቀጥቀጠት ፡ ወንሕነሰ ፡ ድኅነ ።

   Our soul escaped like a bird from the snare of the fowlers; the snare was broken, and we were delivered.

8. Verse 8.፰

   ረድኤትነ ፡ በስመ ፡ እግዚአብሔር ፤ ዘገብረ ፡ ሰማየ ፡ ወምድረ ።

   Our help is in the name of Yahweh, who made heaven and earth.
