መዝሙር ፻፳፪

1. Verse 1.፩

   ማኅሌት ፡ ዘበመዓርጊሁ ። ኀቤከ ፡ አንቃዕዶነ ፡ አዕይንቲነ ፤ ዘትነብር ፡ ውስተ ፡ ሰማይ ።

   A Song of the Ascents. To you I lifted up our eyes, you who dwell in heaven.

2. Verse 2.፪

   ናሁ ፡ ከመ ፡ አዕይንተ ፡ አግብርት ፡ ውስተ ፡ እደ ፡ አጋእስቲሆሙ ፤ ወከመ ፡ ዐይነ ፡ አመት ፡ ውስተ ፡ እደ ፡ እግዝእታ ፤ ከማሁ ፡ አዕይንቲነ ፡ ኀበ ፡ እግዚአብሔር ፡ አምላክነ ፡ እስከ ፡ አመ ፡ ይሣሀለነ ።

   Behold, as the eyes of servants are toward the hand of their masters, and as the eye of a maidservant toward the hand of her mistress, so are our eyes toward Yahweh our God, until he has mercy on us.

3. Verse 3.፫

   ተሣሀለነ ፡ እግዚኦ ፡ ተሣሀለነ ፤ እስመ ፡ ፈድፋደ ፡ ጸገብነ ፡ ጽእለተ ።

   Have mercy on us, O Yahweh, have mercy on us, for we are exceedingly filled with contempt.

4. Verse 4.፬

   ወፈድፋደ ፡ ጸግበት ፡ ነፍስነ ፤ ጽእለተ ፡ ብዑላን ፡ ወኀሳረ ፡ ዕቡያን ።

   And our soul is exceedingly filled with the scorn of the wealthy and the contempt of the proud.
