- Verse 1.
ሀሌሉያ ። አፍቀርኩ ፡ እስመ ፡ ሰምዐኒ ፡ እግዚአብሔር ፡ ቃለ ፡ ስእለትየ ።
Hallelujah. I have loved, because Yahweh has heard the voice of my supplication.
- Verse 2.
ወአፅምአ ፡ እዝኖ ፡ ኀቤየ ፤ ወጸዋዕክዎ ፡ በመዋዕልየ ።
And he inclined his ear to me; and I called upon him in my days.
- Verse 3.
አኀዘኒ ፡ ጻዕረ ፡ ሞት ፡ ወረከበኒ ፡ ሕማመ ፡ ሲኦል ፤ ሕማም ፡ ወምንዳቤ ፡ ረከበኒ ።
The pangs of death seized me, and the perils of Sheol found me; affliction and distress found me.
- Verse 4.
ወጸዋዕኩ ፡ ስመ ፡ እግዚአብሔር ፤ እግዚኦ ፡ ባልሓ ፡ ለነፍስየ ።
And I called upon the name of Yahweh: O Yahweh, deliver my soul.
- Verse 5.
መሓሪ ፡ እግዚአብሔር ፡ ወጻድቅ ፤ ወአምላክነሂ ፡ መስተሣህል ።
Merciful is Yahweh, and righteous; and our God is compassionate.
- Verse 6.
የዐቅብ ፡ ሕፃናተ ፡ እግዚአብሔር ፤ ተመንደብኩሂ ፡ ወአድኀነኒ ።
Yahweh guards the little ones; I was brought low, and he saved me.
- Verse 7.
ግብኢ ፡ ነፍስየ ፡ ውስተ ፡ ዕረፍትኪ ፤ እስመ ፡ እግዚአብሔር ፡ ረዳኢኪ ።
Return, O my soul, to your rest; for Yahweh is your helper.
- Verse 8.
እስመ ፡ አድኀና ፡ ለነፍስየ ፡ እሞት ፤ ወለአዕይንትየኒ ፡ እምአንብዕ ፡ ወለእገርየኒ ፡ እምዳኅፅ ።
For he has delivered my soul from death, and my eyes from tears, and my feet from stumbling.
- Verse 9.
ከመ ፡ አሥምሮ ፡ ለእግዚአብሔር ፡ በብሔረ ፡ ሕያዋን ።
That I may be well-pleasing to Yahweh in the land of the living.
