መዝሙር ፻፰

1. Verse 1.፩

   ፍጻሜ ፡ መዝሙር ፡ ዘዳዊት ። እግዚኦ ፡ ኢትጸመመኒ ፡ ስእለትየ ።

   The completion; a psalm of David. O Yahweh, do not be silent to my supplication.

2. Verse 2.፪

   እስመ ፡ አፈ ፡ ዐመፃ ፡ ወአፈ ፡ ኃጥእ ፡ አብቀወ ፡ ላዕሌየ ፤ ወነበቡ ፡ ላዕሌየ ፡ በልሳነ ፡ ዐመፃ ።

   For the mouth of iniquity and the mouth of the sinner have opened against me; and they have spoken against me with a deceitful tongue.

3. Verse 3.፫

   ወዐገቱኒ ፡ በጽልእ ፤ ወፀብኡኒ ፡ በከንቱ ።

   And they have surrounded me with hatred; and they have warred against me without cause.

4. Verse 4.፬

   ወዘእምአፍቀሩኒ ፡ አስተዋደዩኒ ፤ ወአንሰ ፡ እጼሊ ።

   And those who once loved me have slandered me; but as for me, I keep praying.

5. Verse 5.፭

   ገደዩኒ ፡ እኪተ ፡ ህየንተ ፡ ሠናይት ፤ ወጸልኡኒ ፡ ህየንተ ፡ ዘአፍቀርክዎሙ ።

   They have repaid me evil in place of good; and they have hated me in place of my love toward them.

6. Verse 6.፮

   ሢም ፡ ላዕሌሁ ፡ ኃጥአ ፤ ወሰይጣን ፡ ይቁም ፡ በየማኑ ።

   Set a sinner over him; and let an adversary stand at his right hand.

7. Verse 7.፯

   ወሶበሂ ፡ ይትዋቀሥ ፡ ይፃእ ፡ ተመዊኦ ፤ ወጸሎቱሂ ፡ ትኩኖ ፡ ጌጋየ ።

   And when he is judged, let him go forth condemned; and let his prayer become sin.

8. Verse 8.፰

   ወይኩና ፡ መዋዕሊሁ ፡ ኅዳጠ ፤ ወሢመቶሂ ፡ ይንሣእ ፡ ባዕድ ።

   And let his days be few; and let another take his office.

9. Verse 9.፱

   ወይኩኑ ፡ ደቂቁ ፡ እጓለ ፡ ማውታ ፤ ወብእሲቱሂ ፡ ትኩን ፡ መበለተ ።

   And let his children be orphans; and let his wife be a widow.

10. Verse 10.፲

    ወይትሀውኩ ፡ ደቂቁ ፡ ወይፍልሱ ፡ ወያስተፍእሙ ፤ ወይስድድዎሙ ፡ እምአብያቲሆሙ ።

    And let his children be shaken about and wander and beg; and let them be driven out of their houses.

11. Verse 11.፲፩

    ወይበርበሮ ፡ ባዕለ ፡ ዕዳ ፡ ኵሎ ፡ ንዋዮ ፤ ወይሐብልዩ ፡ ነቢር ፡ ኵሎ ፡ ተግባሮ ።

    And let the creditor seize all his goods; and let strangers plunder all his labor.

12. Verse 12.፲፪

    ወኢይርከብ ፡ ዘይረድኦ ፤ ወኢይምሐርዎሙ ፡ ለእጓለ ፡ ማውታሁ ።

    And let there be none to help him; and let none have compassion on his orphans.

13. Verse 13.፲፫

    ወይሠረዉ ፡ ደቂቁ ፤ በአሕቲ ፡ ትውልድ ፡ ትደምሰስ ፡ ስሙ ።

    And let his children be destroyed; in one generation let his name be blotted out.

14. Verse 14.፲፬

    ወትዘከር ፡ ኅጢአተ ፡ አቡሁ ፡ በቅድመ ፡ እግዚአብሔር ፤ ወኢይደምሰስ ፡ ጌጋያ ፡ ለእሙ ።

    And let the sin of his father be remembered before Yahweh; and let the iniquity of his mother not be blotted out.

15. Verse 15.፲፭

    ወየሀሉ ፡ ቅድመ ፡ እግዚአብሔር ፡ በኵሉ ፡ ጊዜ ፤ ወይጥፋእ ፡ እምድር ፡ ዝክሩ ።

    And let them be before Yahweh continually; and let his memory perish from the earth.

16. Verse 16.፲፮

    እስመ ፡ ኢተዘከረ ፡ ይግበር ፡ ምጽዋተ ፤ ወሰደደ ፡ ብእሴ ፡ ነዳየ ፡ ወምስኪነ ፡ ወጥቡዕ ፡ ልቡ ፡ ለቀቲል ።

    Because he did not remember to show mercy, but persecuted the poor and needy man, and one whose heart was steadfast, to kill him.

17. Verse 17.፲፯

    ወአብደረ ፡ መርገመ ፡ ወትመጽኦ ፤ ወአበያ ፡ ለበረከት ፡ ወትርሕቅ ፡ አምኔሁ ።

    And he loved cursing, and it came upon him; and he refused blessing, and it was far from him.

18. Verse 18.፲፰

    ወለብሳ ፡ ለመርገም ፡ ከመ ፡ ልብስ ፤ ወቦአት ፡ ከመ ፡ ማይ ፡ ውስተ ፡ አማዑቱ ፤ ወከመ ፡ ቅብእ ፡ ውስተ ፡ አዕጽምቲሁ ።

    And he clothed himself with cursing as with a garment; and it entered like water into his entrails, and like oil into his bones.

19. Verse 19.፲፱

    ወትኩኖ ፡ ከመ ፡ ልብስ ፡ ዘይትዐጸፍ ፤ ወከመ ፡ ቅናት ፡ ዘይቀንት ፡ ዘልፈ ።

    And let it be to him like a garment that he wraps about himself, and like a girdle that he girds on continually.

20. Verse 20.፳

    ዝግብር ፡ ለእለ ፡ ያስተዋድዩኒ ፡ ኀበ ፡ እግዚአብሔር ፤ ወለእለ ፡ ይነቡ ፡ እኩየ ፡ ላዕለ ፡ ነፍስየ ።

    This is the recompense for those who slander me to Yahweh, and for those who speak evil against my soul.

21. Verse 21.፳፩

    ወአንተሰ ፡ እግዚኦ ፡ እግዚእየ ፡ ግበር ፡ ሣህለከ ፡ ላዕሌየ ፡ በእንተ ፡ ስምከ ፤ እስመ ፡ ሠናይ ፡ ምሕረትከ ፡ አድኅነኒ ።

    But you, O Yahweh, my Lord, deal with me according to your mercy for your name's sake; for your kindness is good, deliver me.

22. Verse 22.፳፪

    እስመ ፡ ነዳይ ፡ ወምስኪን ፡ አነ ፤ ልብየኒ ፡ ደንገፀኒ ፡ በውስጥየ ።

    For I am poor and needy; and my heart is troubled within me.

23. Verse 23.፳፫

    ወኀለቁ ፡ ከመ ፡ ጽላሎት ፡ ዘኀለፈ ፤ ወተነገፍኩ ፡ ከመ ፡ አንበጣ ።

    And I am vanished like a shadow that passes away; and I am shaken off like a locust.

24. Verse 24.፳፬

    ወደክመኒ ፡ ብረክየ ፡ በጾም ፤ ወስሕከ ፡ ሥጋየ ፡ በኀጢአ ፡ ቅብእ ።

    And my knees are weak from fasting; and my flesh is wasted away for lack of oil.

25. Verse 25.፳፭

    ወአንሰ ፡ ተጸአልኩ ፡ በኀቤሆሙ ፤ ሶበ ፡ ይሬእዩኒ ፡ የሐውሱ ፡ ርእሶሙ ።

    And as for me, I have become a reproach to them; when they see me, they shake their heads.

26. Verse 26.፳፮

    ርድአኒ ፡ እግዚኦ ፡ አምላኪየ ፤ ወአድኅነኒ ፡ በእንተ ፡ ምሕረትከ ።

    Help me, O Yahweh my God; and save me according to your mercy.

27. Verse 27.፳፯

    ወያእምሩ ፡ ከመ ፡ እዴከ ፡ ይእቲ ፡ ዛቲ ፤ ወአንተ ፡ እግዚኦ ፡ ገበርከ ።

    And let them know that this is your hand, and that you, O Yahweh, have done it.

28. Verse 28.፳፰

    እሙንቱሰ ፡ ይረግሙ ፡ ወአንተ ፡ ባርክ ፤ ይትኀፈሩ ፡ እለ ፡ ይትነሥኡ ፡ ላዕሌየ ፡ ወገብርከሰ ፡ ይትፌሣሕ ።

    They will curse, but you will bless; let those who rise up against me be put to shame, but let your servant rejoice.

29. Verse 29.፳፱

    ለይልበሱ ፡ ኀፍረተ ፡ እለ ፡ ያስተዋድዩኒ ፤ ወይትዐጸፍዋ ፡ ከመ ፡ ዐጽፍ ፡ ለኃጢአቶሙ ።

    Let those who slander me be clothed with shame; and let them wrap themselves in their disgrace as in a mantle.

30. Verse 30.፴

    እገኒ ፡ በአፉየ ፡ ለእግዚአብሔር ፡ ፈድፋደ ፤ ወእሴብሖ ፡ በማእከለ ፡ ብዙኃን ።

    I will give thanks to Yahweh greatly with my mouth; and I will praise him in the midst of the multitude.

31. Verse 31.፴፩

    እስመ ፡ ቆመ ፡ በየማነ ፡ ነዳይ ፤ ከመ ፡ ያድኅና ፡ ለነፍስየ ፡ እምእለ ፡ ሮድዋ ።

    For he has stood at the right hand of the poor man, to save his soul from those who pursue it.
