መዝሙር ፻፮

1. Verse 1.፩

   ሀሌሉያ ። ግነዩ ፡ ለእግዚአብሔር ፡ እስመ ፡ ኄር ፤ እስመ ፡ ለዓለም ፡ ምሕረቱ ።

   Halleluyah. Give thanks to Yahweh, for he is good; for his mercy endures forever.

2. Verse 2.፪

   ለይበሉ ፡ እለ ፡ አድኀኖሙ ፡ እግዚአብሔር ፤ እለ ፡ አድኀኖሙ ፡ እምእደ ፡ ፀሮሙ ።

   Let those whom Yahweh has saved say so, those whom he has saved from the hand of their enemies,

3. Verse 3.፫

   ወአስተጋብኦሙ ፡ እምበሓውርት ፤ እምጽባሕ ፡ ወእምዐረብ ፡ ወመስዕ ፡ ወባሕር ።

   and whom he has gathered from the lands, from the east and from the west, and the north and the sea.

4. Verse 4.፬

   ወሳኰዩ ፡ ውስተ ፡ በድው ፡ ዘአልቦ ፡ ማየ ፤ ወኢረከቡ ፡ ፍኖተ ፡ ሀገረ ፡ ብሔሮሙ ።

   They wandered in a wilderness where there was no water; and they did not find the way to a city to dwell in.

5. Verse 5.፭

   ጸምኡ ፡ ወርኅቡ ፤ ወኀልቀት ፡ ነፍሶሙ ፡ በላዕሌሆሙ ።

   They thirsted and they hungered; and their soul fainted within them.

6. Verse 6.፮

   ወዐውየዉ ፡ ኀበ ፡ እግዚአብሔር ፡ ሶበ ፡ ተመንደቡ ፤ ወአድኀኖሙ ፡ እምንዳቤሆሙ ።

   And they cried out to Yahweh when they were afflicted; and he saved them from their distress.

7. Verse 7.፯

   ወመርሖሙ ፡ ፍኖተ ፡ ርቱዐ ፤ ከመ ፡ ይሖሩ ፡ ፍኖተ ፡ ሀገሮሙ ።

   And he led them by a straight way, that they might go to a city to dwell in.

8. Verse 8.፰

   ንግሩ ፡ ለእግዚአብሔር ፡ ምሕረቶ ፤ ወመንክሮሂ ፡ ለእጓለ ፡ እመሕያው ።

   Let them confess to Yahweh his mercy, and his wonders toward the children of men.

9. Verse 9.፱

   እስመ ፡ አጽገበ ፡ ነፍሰ ፡ ርኅብተ ፤ ወመልአ ፡ ነፍሰ ፡ ዕራቃ ፡ በረከተ ።

   For he has satisfied the hungry soul; and the empty soul he has filled with good things.

10. Verse 10.፲

    ለእለ ፡ ይነብሩ ፡ ውስተ ፡ ጽልመት ፡ ወጽላሎተ ፡ ሞት ፤ ወመቁሓን ፡ በንዴት ፡ ወበኀጺን ።

    As for those who sit in darkness and the shadow of death, bound in affliction and in iron,

11. Verse 11.፲፩

    እስመ ፡ አምረሩ ፡ ቃለ ፡ እግዚአብሔር ፤ ወአምዕዑ ፡ ምክረ ፡ ልዑል ።

    for they embittered the word of Yahweh; and they provoked the counsel of the Most High.

12. Verse 12.፲፪

    ወሰርሐ ፡ በሕማም ፡ ልቦሙ ፤ ደወዩ ፡ ወኀጥኡ ፡ ዘይቀብሮሙ ።

    And their heart was humbled with toil; they were weakened, and there was none to bury them.

13. Verse 13.፲፫

    ወዐውየዉ ፡ ኀበ ፡ እግዚአብሔር ፡ ሶበ ፡ ተመንደቡ ፤ ወአድኀኖሙ ፡ እምንዳቤሆሙ ።

    And they cried out to Yahweh when they were afflicted; and he saved them from their distress.

14. Verse 14.፲፬

    ወአውፅኦሙ ፡ እምጽልመት ፡ ወጽላሎተ ፡ ሞት ፤ ወሰበረ ፡ መዋቅሕቲሆሙ ።

    And he brought them out of darkness and the shadow of death; and he broke their bonds.

15. Verse 15.፲፭

    ንግሩ ፡ ለእግዚአብሔር ፡ ምሕረቶ ፤ ወመንክሮሂ ፡ ለእጓለ ፡ እመሕያው ።

    Let them confess to Yahweh his mercy, and his wonders toward the children of men.

16. Verse 16.፲፮

    እስመ ፡ ሰበረ ፡ ኆኃተ ፡ ብርት ፤ ወቀጥቀጠ ፡ መናስግተ ፡ ኀጺን ።

    For he has broken the gates of bronze; and he has shattered the bars of iron.

17. Verse 17.፲፯

    ወተወክፎሙ ፡ እምፍኖተ ፡ ጌጋዮሙ ፤ እስመ ፡ ሐሙ ፡ በኃጢአቶሙ ።

    And he took them up out of the way of their iniquity; for they were brought low because of their sin.

18. Verse 18.፲፰

    ወኵሎ ፡ መብልዐ ፡ አስቆረረት ፡ ነፍሶሙ ፤ ወቀርቡ ፡ ኀበ ፡ አናቅጸ ፡ ሞት ።

    And their soul abhorred all food; and they drew near to the gates of death.

19. Verse 19.፲፱

    ወዐውየዉ ፡ ኀበ ፡ እግዚአብሔር ፡ ሶበ ፡ ተመንደቡ ፤ ወአድኀኖሙ ፡ እምንዳቤሆሙ ።

    And they cried out to Yahweh when they were afflicted; and he saved them from their distress.

20. Verse 20.፳

    ወፈነወ ፡ ቃሎ ፡ ወአሕየዎሙ ፤ ወአድኀኖሙ ፡ እሞቶሙ ።

    And he sent forth his word and healed them; and he delivered them from their death.

21. Verse 21.፳፩

    ንግሩ ፡ ለእግዚአብሔር ፡ ምሕረቶ ፤ ወመንክሮሂ ፡ ለእጓለ ፡ እመሕያው ።

    Let them confess to Yahweh his mercy, and his wonders toward the children of men.

22. Verse 22.፳፪

    ወይሡዑ ፡ ሎቱ ፡ መሥዋዕተ ፡ ስብሐት ፤ ወይንግሩ ፡ ግብሮ ፡ በትፍሥሕት ።

    And let them offer to him the sacrifice of praise; and let them declare his works with gladness.

23. Verse 23.፳፫

    እለ ፡ ይወርዱ ፡ ውስተ ፡ ባሕር ፡ በአሕማር ፤ ወይትጌበሩ ፡ ተግባሮሙ ፡ ውስተ ፡ ማይ ፡ ብዙኅ ።

    Those who go down to the sea in ships, who do their labor in many waters,

24. Verse 24.፳፬

    እሙንቱሰ ፡ ያአምሩ ፡ ግብረ ፡ እግዚአብሔር ፤ ወመንክሮሂ ፡ በውስተ ፡ ልጐት ።

    they have seen the works of Yahweh, and his wonders in the deep.

25. Verse 25.፳፭

    ይቤ ፡ ወመጽአ ፡ መንፈሰ ፡ ዐውሎ ፤ ወተለዐለ ፡ ማዕበል ።

    He spoke, and there came a stormy wind; and the wave was lifted up.

26. Verse 26.፳፮

    የዐርጉ ፡ እስከ ፡ ሰማይ ፡ ወይወርዱ ፡ እስከ ፡ ቀላይ ፤ ወተመስወት ፡ ነፍሶሙ ፡ በሕማም ።

    They mount up to the heaven and they go down to the deep; and their soul was melted in distress.

27. Verse 27.፳፯

    ደንገፁ ፡ ወተሀውኩ ፡ ከመ ፡ ስኩር ፤ ወተሰጥመ ፡ ኵሉ ፡ ጥበቦሙ ።

    They reeled and were shaken like a drunken man; and all their skill was swallowed up.

28. Verse 28.፳፰

    ወዐውየዉ ፡ ኀበ ፡ እግዚአብሔር ፡ ሶበ ፡ ተመንደቡ ፤ ወአድኀኖሙ ፡ እምንዳቤሆሙ ።

    And they cried out to Yahweh when they were afflicted; and he saved them from their distress.

29. Verse 29.፳፱

    ወአጥፍኦ ፡ ለዐውሎ ፡ ወአርመመ ፡ ባሕር ፤ ወአርመመ ፡ ማዕበል ።

    And he stilled the storm and the sea grew calm; and the wave grew calm.

30. Verse 30.፴

    ወተፈሥሑ ፡ እስመ ፡ አዕረፉ ፤ ወመርሖሙ ፡ ውስተ ፡ መርሶ ፡ ኀበ ፡ ፈቀዱ ።

    And they rejoiced because they were quieted; and he led them to the harbor where they desired.

31. Verse 31.፴፩

    ንግሩ ፡ ለእግዚአብሔር ፡ ምሕረቶ ፤ ወመንክሮሂ ፡ ለእጓለ ፡ እመሕያው ።

    Let them confess to Yahweh his mercy, and his wonders toward the children of men.

32. Verse 32.፴፪

    ወያዐብይዎ ፡ በማኅበረ ፡ አሕዛብ ፤ ወይሴብሕዎ ፡ በመንበረ ፡ ሊቃውንት ።

    And let them exalt him in the assembly of the peoples; and let them praise him on the seat of the elders.

33. Verse 33.፴፫

    ወረሰዮሙ ፡ ለአፍላግ ፡ በድወ ፤ ወረሰየ ፡ ምጽማአ ፡ ሙሓዘ ፡ ማይ ።

    And he turned rivers into a wilderness; and he made springs of water into a thirsty ground.

34. Verse 34.፴፬

    ወረሰየ ፡ ጼወ ፡ ለምድር ፡ እንተ ፡ ትፈሪ ፤ በእከዮሙ ፡ ለእለ ፡ ይነብርዋ ።

    And he turned fruitful land into a salt waste, because of the wickedness of those who dwell in it.

35. Verse 35.፴፭

    ወረሰዩ ፡ ለበድው ፡ ሙሓዘ ፡ ማይ ፤ ወለምድረ ፡ በድው ፡ ቀላያተ ፡ ማያት ።

    And he turned the wilderness into springs of water, and the dry land into pools of waters.

36. Verse 36.፴፮

    ወአንበረ ፡ ህየ ፡ ርኁባነ ፤ ወሐነጹ ፡ አህጉረ ፡ ኀበ ፡ ይነብርዋ ።

    And he settled the hungry there; and they built cities to dwell in.

37. Verse 37.፴፯

    ወዘርዑ ፡ ገራውሀ ፡ ወተከሉ ፡ ወይነ ፤ ወገብሩ ፡ ማእረረ ፡ እክል ።

    And they sowed fields and planted vineyards; and they gathered a harvest of grain.

38. Verse 38.፴፰

    ወባረኮሙ ፡ ወበዝኁ ፡ ፈድፋደ ፤ ወኢያውኀደ ፡ ሎሙ ፡ እንስሳሆሙ ።

    And he blessed them, and they were multiplied exceedingly; and he did not let their cattle decrease.

39. Verse 39.፴፱

    ወደወዩ ፡ ወውኅዱ ፤ በሕማም ፡ እኩይ ፡ ወበጻዕር ።

    But they were weakened and diminished by evil affliction and by sorrow.

40. Verse 40.፵

    ወተክዕወ ፡ ኀሳር ፡ ዲበ ፡ መላእክት ፤ ወአስሐቶሙ ፡ ውስተ ፡ በድው ፡ ዘኢኮነ ፡ ፍኖተ ።

    Contempt was poured out upon the rulers; and he made them wander in a wilderness where there was no way.

41. Verse 41.፵፩

    ወረድኦ ፡ ለነዳይ ፡ በተጽናሱ ፤ ወረሰዮ ፡ ከመ ፡ አባግዐ ፡ ብሔር ።

    But he helped the poor man in his affliction; and he made him like flocks of the land.

42. Verse 42.፵፪

    ይርአዩ ፡ ራትዓን ፡ ወይትፌሥሑ ፤ ወትትፈፀም ፡ አፉሃ ፡ ኵላ ፡ ዐመፃ ።

    The upright shall see it and shall rejoice; and all iniquity shall stop her mouth.

43. Verse 43.፵፫

    መኑ ፡ ጠቢብ ፡ ዘየዐቅቦ ፡ ለዝ ፤ ወያአምር ፡ ከመ ፡ መሓሪ ፡ እግዚአብሔር ።

    Who is wise that he should keep this, and understand that Yahweh is merciful?
