መዝሙር ፻፩

1. Verse 1.፩

   ጸሎት ፡ ባሕታዊ ፡ ሶበ ፡ ይቴክዝ ፤ ወይክዑ ፡ ቅድመ ፡ እግዚአብሔር ፡ ኵሎ ፡ ስእለቶ ።

   A prayer of the afflicted, when he is in distress, and pours out all his supplication before Yahweh.

2. Verse 3.፫

   ስምዐኒ ፡ እግዚኦ ፡ ጸሎትየ ፤ ወይብጻሕ ፡ ቅድሜከ ፡ ገዐርየ ።

   Hear my prayer, O Yahweh, and let my cry come before you.

3. Verse 3.፫

   ወኢትሚጥ ፡ ገጸከ ፡ እምኔየ ፡ በዕለተ ፡ መንዳቤየ ፤ አፅምእ ፡ እዝነከ ፡ ኀቤየ ፡ አመ ፡ ዕለተ ፡ እጼውዐከ ፡ ፍጡነ ፡ ስምዐኒ ።

   And do not turn your face from me in the day of my affliction; incline your ear to me; in the day when I call upon you, hear me quickly.

4. Verse 4.፬

   እስመ ፡ ኀልቀ ፡ ከመ ፡ ጢስ ፡ መዋዕልየ ፤ ወነቅጸ ፡ ከመ ፡ ሣዕር ፡ አዕጽምትየ ።

   For my days have vanished like smoke, and my bones have dried up like grass.

5. Verse 5.፭

   ተቀሠፍኩ ፡ ወየብሰ ፡ ከመ ፡ ሣዕር ፡ ልብየ ፤ እስመ ፡ ተረስዐኒ ፡ በሊዐ ፡ እክል ።

   I am stricken, and my heart has withered like grass; for I have forgotten to eat my bread.

6. Verse 6.፮

   እምቃለ ፡ ገዐርየ ፡ ጠግዐ ፡ ሥጋየ ፡ ዲበ ፡ አዕጽምትየ ።

   From the sound of my groaning, my flesh has cleaved to my bones.

7. Verse 7.፯

   ወኮንኩ ፡ ከመ ፡ አዱገ ፡ መረብ ፡ ዘገዳም ፤ ወኮንኩ ፡ ከመ ፡ ጉጓ ፡ ውስተ ፡ ቤት ፡ ሌሊተ ።

   And I have become like a pelican of the wilderness; and I have become like an owl in the house by night.

8. Verse 8.፰

   ተጋህኩ ፡ ወኮንኩ ፡ ከመ ፡ ዖፍ ፡ ባሕታዊ ፡ ውስተ ፡ ናሕስ ።

   I have kept watch, and I have become like a solitary bird upon the rooftop.

9. Verse 9.፱

   ኵሎ ፡ አሚረ ፡ ይጼእሉኒ ፡ ጸላእትየ ፤ ወእለኒ ፡ ይሰዱኒ ፡ ይሰካትዩ ፡ ላዕሌየ ።

   All the day my enemies reproach me, and those who persecute me swear against me.

10. Verse 10.፲

    እስመ ፡ ሐመደ ፡ ከመ ፡ እክል ፡ ቀማሕኩ ፤ ወስቴየኒ ፡ ምስለ ፡ አንብዕየ ፡ ሰተይኩ ።

    For I have eaten ashes like bread, and I have mingled my drink with my tears,

11. Verse 11.፲፩

    እምገጸ ፡ መቅሠፍተ ፡ መዐትከ ፤ እስመ ፡ አንሣእከኒ ፡ ወነፃኅከኒ ።

    because of the presence of the fury of your anger; for you have lifted me up and cast me down.

12. Verse 12.፲፪

    ወመዋዕልየኒ ፡ ከመ ፡ ጽላሎት ፡ ኀለፈ ፤ ወአነሂ ፡ ከመ ፡ ሣዕር ፡ የበስኩ ።

    And my days have passed away like a shadow, and I myself have withered like grass.

13. Verse 13.፲፫

    ወአንተሰ ፡ እግዚኦ ፡ ለዓለም ፡ ትነብር ፤ ወዝክርከኒ ፡ ለትውልደ ፡ ትውልድ ።

    But you, O Yahweh, abide forever, and your remembrance is from generation to generation.

14. Verse 14.፲፬

    ተንሥእ ፡ እግዚኦ ፡ ወተሣሀለ ፡ ለጽዮን ፤ እስመ ፡ ጊዜሃ ፡ ውእቱ ፡ ከመ ፡ ተሣሀላ ፡ ወበጽሐ ፡ ዕድሜሃ ።

    Arise, O Yahweh, and have mercy on Zion; for it is the time to have mercy on her, for her appointed time has come.

15. Verse 15.፲፭

    እስመ ፡ ሠምሩ ፡ አግብርቲከ ፡ እበኒሃ ፤ ወአክበርዎ ፡ ለመሬታ ።

    For your servants have taken pleasure in her stones, and they have honored her dust.

16. Verse 16.፲፮

    ወይፍርሁ ፡ አሕዛብ ፡ ስመከ ፡ እግዚኦ ፤ ወኵሎሙ ፡ ነገሥት ፡ ለስብሐቲከ ።

    And the nations shall fear your name, O Yahweh, and all the kings shall fear your glory.

17. Verse 17.፲፯

    እስመ ፡ የሐንጻ ፡ እግዚአብሔር ፡ ለጽዮን ፤ ወያስተርኢ ፡ በስብሐቲሁ ።

    For Yahweh shall build up Zion, and he shall appear in his glory.

18. Verse 18.፲፰

    ወነጸረ ፡ ላዕለ ፡ ጸሎተ ፡ ነዳይ ፤ ወኢተቈጥዐ ፡ ስእለቶሙ ።

    And he has regarded the prayer of the poor, and he has not despised their supplication.

19. Verse 19.፲፱

    ወተጽሕፈት ፡ ዛቲ ፡ ለካልእ ፡ ትውልድ ፤ ወሕዝብ ፡ ዘይትፈጠር ፡ ይሴብሖ ፡ ለእግዚአብሔር ።

    And this shall be written for another generation, and a people that shall be created shall praise Yahweh.

20. Verse 20.፳

    እስመ ፡ ሐወጸ ፡ እምሰማየ ፡ መቅደሱ ፤ እግዚአብሔር ፡ ሐወጸ ፡ እምሰማይ ፡ ዲበ ፡ ምድር ።

    For he has looked down from his holy heaven; Yahweh has looked from heaven upon the earth,

21. Verse 21.፳፩

    ከመ ፡ ይስማዕ ፡ ገዐሮሙ ፡ ለሙቁሓን ፤ ወከመ ፡ ያሕይዎሙ ፡ ለደቂቀ ፡ ቅቱላን ።

    that he may hear the groaning of those in chains, that he may give life to the children of the slain;

22. Verse 22.፳፪

    ከመ ፡ ይንግሩ ፡ በጽዮን ፡ ስመ ፡ እግዚአብሔር ፤ ወስብሐቲሁኒ ፡ በኢየሩሳሌም ።

    that they may declare in Zion the name of Yahweh, and his praise in Jerusalem,

23. Verse 23.፳፫

    ሶበ ፡ ተጋብኡ ፡ አሕዛብ ፡ ኅቡረ ፤ ወነገሥትኒ ፡ ከመ ፡ ይትቀነዩ ፡ ለእግዚአብሔር ።

    when the peoples are gathered together, and the kings also, to serve Yahweh.

24. Verse 24.፳፬

    ወተሠጥዎሙ ፡ በፍኖተ ፡ ኀይሉ ፤ ንግረኒ ፡ ውሕዶን ፡ ለመዋዕልየ ።

    And he answered them in the way of his strength; tell me the fewness of my days.

25. Verse 25.፳፭

    ወኢትሰደኒ ፡ በመንፈቀ ፡ ዐመትየ ። ለትውልደ ፡ ትውልድ ፡ ዐመቲከ ።

    Do not take me away in the midst of my days; your years are from generation to generation.

26. Verse 26.፳፮

    አንተ ፡ እግዚኦ ፡ አቅደምከ ፡ ሳርሮታ ፡ ለምድር ፤ ወግብረ ፡ እደዊከ ፡ እማንቱ ፡ ሰማያት ።

    You, O Yahweh, in the beginning founded the earth, and the heavens are the work of your hands.

27. Verse 27.፳፯

    እማንቱሰ ፡ ይትሐጐላ ፡ ወአንተሰ ፡ ትሄሉ ፤ ወኵሉ ፡ ከመ ፡ ልብስ ፡ ይበሊ ፤ ወከመ ፡ ሞጣሕት ፡ ትዌልጦሙ ፡ ወይትዌለጡ ።

    They shall perish, but you remain; and they shall all wear out like a garment; and like a cloak you shall change them, and they shall be changed.

28. Verse 28.፳፰

    ወአንተሰ ፡ አንተ ፡ ክመ ፤ ወዐመቲከኒ ፡ ዘኢየኀልቅ ።

    But you are the same, and your years shall not fail.

29. Verse 29.፳፱

    ወደቂቀ ፡ አግብርቲከ ፡ ይነብርዋ ፤ ወዘርዖሙኒ ፡ ለዓለም ፡ ይጸንዕ ።

    And the children of your servants shall dwell there, and their offspring shall be established forever.
