1. Verse 1.፩

   ወእምዝ ፡ በ፬፻ ፡ ወ፹ ፡ ዓመት ፡ እምእሰ ፡ ወፃኡ ፡ ደቂቀ ፡ እስራኤል ፡ እምድሬ ፡ ግብጽ ፡ ወበራብዕ ፡ ዓመት ፡ እምዘ ፡ ነግሠ ፡ ሰሎሞን ፡ ሳዕለ ፡ እስራኤል ፡ በካልእ ፡ ወርሐ ፡ ወወጠነ ፡ ሐኒፀ ፡ ቤተ ፡ እግዚእብሔር ✣

   And then, in the 480th year after the children of Israel came out from the land of Egypt, and in the fourth year after Solomon reigned over Israel, in the second month, he began to build the house of Yahweh.

2. Verse 2.፪

   ወቤት ፡ ዘሐነፀ ፡ ሰሎሞን ፡ ለእግዚእብሔር ፡ ፷ ፡ እመት ፡ ኑኁ ፡ ወ፳ ፡ ራኅቡ ፡ ወ፴ ፡ እመት ፡ ቆሙ

   And the house that Solomon built for Yahweh was 60 cubits its length, and 20 its breadth, and 30 cubits its height.

3. Verse 3.፫

   ወኤላም ፡ ዘቅድሙ ፡ ቤት ፡ ፳ ፡ እመት ፡ ኑኁ ፡ ቅድሙ ፡ ራኅብ ፡ ቤት ፡ ወ፲ ፡ እመት ፡ ራኅቡ ፡ ቅድሙ ፡ ገጸ ፡ ቤት ✣

   And the porch [elam, vestibule] that was before the house: 20 cubits its length, before the breadth of the house; and 10 cubits its breadth, before the face of the house.

4. Verse 4.፬

   ወገብረ ፡ ለውእቱ ፡ ቤት ፡ መሳክወ ፡ ሳቡአት ፡ ሳቡአን

   And he made for that house windows, slanted [latticed / recessed].

5. Verse 5.፭

   ወገብሬ ፡ ቀጸላ ፡ ለቤት ፡ ለሜንትራ ፡ ዘየእውዱ ፡ ለቤተ ፡ መቅደስ ፡ ወለዳቤር ፡ ወገብረ ፡ ገበዋቲሃ ፡ ዘእውዱ

   And he made an annex-structure [side-chambers] for the house, for a screen-wall [partition], which encircled the temple and the inner-sanctuary [dabir]; and he made its side-chambers that encircled [it].

6. Verse 6.፮

   ወእረፍተ ፡ ገቦሃ ፡ ዘእምታሕቲሁ ፡ ሐምስ ፡ በእመት ፡ ራኅቡ ፡ ወለማእከላዊ ፡ ስድስ ፡ ራኅቡ ፡ ወለሳልሳዊ ፡ ስብዕ ፡ በእመት ፡ ራኅቡ ፡ እስመኒ ፡ ስተራሕቆ ፡ ለመእዝነ ፡ ቤት ፡ ዘእውዱ ፡ ከመ ፡ ኢይትቃረብ ፡ እረፍተ ፡ ቤቱ ✣

   And the lowest side-wall [story], five cubits its breadth; and for the middle one, six its breadth; and for the third, seven cubits its breadth; for he set back the wall-ledge [rebatements] of the house round about, so that [the beams] would not reach into the wall of his house.

7. Verse 7.፯

   ወተሐንጸ ፡ ቤቱ ፡ በእባን ፡ ልሙጻት ፡ እለ ፡ ኢኮና ፡ ወቁራፂ ፡ መፍፅሕ ፡ ወድኩን ፡ ድቅ ፡ ወሙሉን ፡ ዋየ ፡ ሐዲን ፡ ኢተሰምዓ ፡ በህየ ፡ በውስተ ፡ ቤቱ ፡ እንዘ ፡ የሐንጽ

   And his house was built with smooth stones that were not [hewn on site]; and cutter, cleaver, and pounding-tool, and any tool of iron were not heard there within his house while he was building.

8. Verse 8.፰

   ወዶዶ ፡ ዘመንግሊ ፡ ቤት ፡ ዘየማን ፡ ዘእምታሕቱ ፡ ወዖ ፡ መዓርግ ፡ ላዕለ ፡ ማእከላይ ፡ እምነ ፡ ማእከላህ ፡ ላዕለ ፡ ሣልሳይ ✣

   And the doorway [stair-entrance] of the right side-chamber of the house, which was from below; and a stairway went up onto the middle [story], from the middle onto the third.

9. Verse 9.፱

   ወሐነጸ ፡ ቤቶ ፡ ወፈጸሞ ፡ ወጠፈሮ ፡ በዕፀወ ፡ አርዝ

   And he built his house and finished it, and roofed [ceiled] it with cedar wood.

10. Verse 10.፲

    ወሐነፀ ፡ ኩሎ ፡ ቤቶ ፡ ወእስር ፡ በማእስር ፡ ዘዘ ፡ ሐምስ ፡ በእመት ፡ ኑኁ ፡ ወእስር ፡ ለቤት ፡ በዕፀ ፡ አርዝ

    And he built all of his house and bound [it] with a binding [course / band] of five each, in cubits, its height; and he bound the house with cedar wood.

11. Verse 11.፲፩

    ወኮነ ፡ ቃሉ ፡ እግዚእብሔር ፡ ኃበ ፡ ሰሎምን ፡ እንዘ ፡ ይብል

    And the word of Yahweh came to Solomon, saying:

12. Verse 12.፲፪

    ዝንቱ ፡ ቤት ፡ ዘእንተ ፡ ተሐንጽ ፡ ሲተ ፡ እመ ፡ ሐርከ ፡ በሕግየ ፡ ወገበርከ ፡ ኩሎ ፡ ትእዛዝየ ፡ ከመ ፡ ትሐር ፡ ቦሙ ፡ ወአቀውም ፡ ቃልየ ፡ ምስሌክ ፡ ዘተናገርኩ ፡ ምስለ ፡ ዳዊት ፡ አቡከ

    This house which you are building — if you walk in my law and do all my commandments, so as to walk in them, then I will establish my word with you which I spoke with David your father.

13. Verse 13.፲፫

    ወአኃድር ፡ በማእከለ ፡ ደቂቀ ፡ እስራኤል ፡ ወኢየኃድጎሙ ፡ ለሕዝብየ ፡ እስራኤል

    And I will dwell in the midst of the children of Israel, and I will not forsake my people Israel.

14. Verse 14.፲፬

    ወሐነፀ ፡ ሰሎሞን ፡ ወፈጸሞ ፡ ቤተ ፡ መቅደስ ✣

    And Solomon built and finished the temple.

15. Verse 15.፲፭

    ወሐነፀ ፡ እረፍተ ፡ ቤቱ ፡ በዕፀወ ፡ አርዝ ፡ እምነ ፡ እረፋቲሁ ፡ ለቤት ፡ እስከ ፡ ጠፈሩ ፡ ወእስከ ፡ ሠረዊት ፡ ወዶሉ ፡ እረፋቲሁ ፡ በዕፀወ ፡ እንተ ፡ ውስጥ ፡ ገለዮ ፡ ወአስተእጻዘ ፡ እንተ ፡ ውስጥ ፡ ቤቱ ፡ በዕፀወ ፡ ጻውቄና ፡ ወሐነፀ ፡ በ፳ ፡ እመት ፡ እምነ ፡ ጽንፉ ፡ ለገቦ ፡ ቤት

    And he built the walls of his house with cedar wood, from the walls of the house up to its ceiling and up to the [rafters / joists]; and he overlaid its walls with wood on the inside, [paneled] it, and he lined the inside of his house with juniper [fir / cypress] wood; and he built [a partition] of 20 cubits from the edge of the side of the house.

16. Verse 16.፲፮

    እምድሩ ፡ እስከ ፡ ሠራዊቱ ፡ በዕፀ ፡ አርዝ ፡ ወነደቀ ፡ ሎቱ ፡ ቤተ ፡ እምነ ፡ ዳቢር ፡ እስከ ፡ ቅድስተ ፡ ቅዱሳን ✣

    From its floor up to its rafters with cedar wood; and he constructed for it within the house [a chamber] from the inner-sanctuary [dabir] as far as the Holy of Holies.

17. Verse 17.፲፯

    ወ፵ ፡ በእመት ፡ ኮነ ፡ ቤተ ፡ መቅደስ ፡ ቅድመ ፡ ዳቢር

    And the temple was 40 cubits, [the part] before the inner-sanctuary [dabir].

18. Verse 18.፲፰

    ወዕፀወ ፡ አርዝ ፡ ገብሬ ፡ ውስተ ፡ እረፍተ ፡ ቤት ፡ ወአልቦ ፡ እብን ፡ ዘይትረአይ

    And cedar wood he wrought within the wall of the house, and there was no stone that was seen.

19. Verse 19.፲፱

    ወዳቢር ፡ ቅድመ ፡ ማእከለ ፡ ቤት ፡ እንተ ፡ ውስጡ ፡ ከመ ፡ ያንብሩ ፡ ህየ ፡ ታቦተ ፡ ኪዳን ፡ እግዚእብሔር ፡ ቅድመ ፡ ዳቢር ፡ ፳ ፡ በእመት ፡ ራኅቡ ፡ ወ፳ ፡ እመት ፡ ቆሙ ፡ ወቀለሎ ፡ በወርቅ ፡ ወአስርገዎ

    And the inner-sanctuary [dabir], before the middle of the house on its inside, so that they might place there the ark of the covenant of Yahweh — before the inner-sanctuary, 20 cubits its breadth and 20 cubits its height; and he overlaid it with gold and adorned it.

20. Verse 20.፳

    ወገብሬ ፡ ምስዋዓ ፡ እምዕፀወ ፡ አርዝ ። ወገብሬ ፡ ሰሎሞን ፡ ለዝንቱ ፡ ቤት ፡ እምቅድሜሁ ፡ በወርቅ ፡ ወአንበሬ ፡ ውስቴቱ ፡ ወርቀ ፡ ንጹሐ ፡ ቅድመ ፡ ዳቢር ፡ ወቀፈሎ ፡ ወኩሎ ፡ ቤቶ ፡ ቀፈሎ ፡ በወርቅ ፡ እስመ ፡ ፈጸመ ፡ ኩሎ ፡ ቤቶ ፡ ወኩሎ ፡ ምሥዋዐያ ፡ ለዳቤር ፡ ቀፈሎ ፡ በወርቅ

    And he made an altar of cedar wood. And Solomon made for this house, in front of it, [a work] in gold; and he set within it pure gold before the inner-sanctuary [dabir] and overlaid it; and all his house he overlaid with gold, for he finished all his house; and all the furnishings [altars] of the inner-sanctuary he overlaid with gold.

21. Verse 21.፳፩

    ወገብሬ ፡ ለዳቢር ፡ ፪ ፡ ኪሩባተ ፡ እምዕፀው ፡ ዘይትዓሥር ፡ በእመት ፡ ቆሙ ፡ ወር ፡ በእመት ፡ ክንፈ ፡ ኪሩብ ፡ ፭ ፡ ወሐምስ ፡ በእመት ፡ ኪንፈ ፡ ኪሩብ ፡ ካልኡ ፡ ዓሥር ፡ እመት ፡ እምጽንፈ ፡ ክንፉ ፡ እስከ ፡ ጽንፈ ፡ ክንፉ

    And he made for the inner-sanctuary [dabir] two cherubim of wood [joined / ten-fold?], ten cubits their height; and [an uncertain measure] in cubits: the wing of the [first] cherub, five; and five cubits the wing of the second cherub; ten cubits from the edge of its wing to the edge of its [other] wing.

22. Verse 22.፳፪

    ወካልኡ ፡ ኪሩብ ፡ ዓሥር ፡ ክንፉ ፡ ከመ ፡ ክንፈ ፡ ካልኡ ፡ ወአምጣኒሆሙ ፡ ለክልኤሆሙ ፡ ኪሩባት ፡ ዕሩይ ፡ ወ፩ ፡ ግብሮሙ ፡ ለክልኤሆሙ

    And the other cherub, ten its wing[span], like the wing of the other; and the measures of both the cherubim were equal, and the workmanship of both was one [identical].

23. Verse 23.፳፫

    ወቆሙ ፡ ለ፩ ፡ ኪሩብ ፡ ዓሥር ፡ በእመት ፡ ወከማሁ ፡ ካልኡኒ ፡ ኪሩብ ✣ ወክልኤሆሙ ፡ ኪሩብ ፡ በማእከለ ፡ ቤቱ ፡ እንተ ፡ ውስጥ ፡ ወስፉሐ ፡ ክንፈሆሙ ፡ ለኪሩባት ፡ ወዕ ፡ ክንፉ ፡ ይጉድእ ፡ አረፍተ ፡ ቤት ፡ ወለካልኡ ፡ ክንፉ ፡ ለኪሩቤል ፡ ይጉድእ ፡ አረፍተ ፡ ቤት ፡ ወእልክቱ ፡ ክልአን ፡ ክነፊሆሙ ፡ ማእከለ ፡ ቤት ፡ ይትለ ፀቁ ፡ ክንፈ ፡ ምስለ ፡ ክንፉ

    And the height of the one cherub was ten cubits, and likewise the other cherub also. And both cherubim [stood] in the midst of his house, on the inside, and the wings of the cherubim were outspread; and the wing of the one touched the wall of the house, and as for the other wing of the cherub[s], it touched the wall of the house; and as for those, their two wings in the middle of the house joined together, wing with wing.

24. Verse 24.፳፬

    ወቀፈሎሙ ፡ ለኪሩቤል ፡ በወርቅ

    And he overlaid the cherubim with gold.

25. Verse 25.፳፭

    ወለኩሉ ፡ አረፍተ ፡ ቤት ፡ እለ ፡ አውዱ ፡ ገስፈ ፡ ወስእለ ፡ ሥዕለ ፡ ኪሩብ ፡ ወበቀልተ ፡ ወአምሳለ ፡ ካልአን ፡ በውስቤ ፡ ወበአፍአ ✣

    And all the walls of the house round about he engraved with carving and a relief-figure, a carved image of cherubim and of palm-trees, and likenesses of others, within and without.

26. Verse 26.፳፮

    ወምድረ ፡ ቤቱ ፡ ለበጠ ፡ በወርቅ ፡ በውስቤሃ ፡ ወበአፍእ ✣

    And the floor of his house he overlaid [spread over] with gold, within it and without.

27. Verse 27.፳፯

    ወለኖኅተ ፡ ዳቤር ፡ ገብሬ ፡ መአፀ ፡ እምዕፀ ፡ ዘይት ፡ ወገብሬ ፡ ራግዘተ ፡ ፭ ፡ ወክልኤ ፡ ማዕያ ፡ እምዕፀ ፡ ዘይት ✣

    And for the doors [doorways] of the inner-sanctuary [dabir] he made door-leaves [posts?] of olive wood; and he made lintels [doorframes], five, and two leaves [posts] of olive wood.

28. Verse 28.፳፰

    ወስእለ ፡ ውስቴቶን ፡ ኪሩብ ፡ ወበቀልተ ፡ ወቀፈሉን ፡ በወርቅ ፡ ወያንሰልል ፡ ላዕለ ፡ ኪሩብ ፡ ወላዕለ ፡ በቀልት

    And he carved upon them cherubim and palm-trees, and overlaid them with gold; and [the gold] was spread [hammered] upon the cherubim and upon the palm-trees.

29. Verse 29.፳፱

    ወከማሁ ፡ ገብሬ ፡ ለደዴ ፡ ጽርሕ ፡ ራግዛተ ፡ እምዕፀ ፡ ዘይት ፡ ርብዕ

    And likewise he made for the doors of the great-hall [hall / sanctuary] lintels [doorframes] of olive wood, foursquare.

30. Verse 30.፴

    ወክልኤ ፡ መዓፁተ ፡ እምዕፀ ፡ ጳውቄማ ፡ እምለፈ ፡ ወእስለፈ ፡ ለአሐቲ ፡ ሐናት ፡ ምስለ ፡ ድርኩቱቶን ፡ ወለካልእቲ ፡ ኖኅት ፡ ክልኤ ፡ መአዐዊሃ ፡ ወድርኩታቲሃ

    And the two door-leaves were of cypress [pawqema] wood: from one side and from the other side, for the one [door], its folding-panels [leaves] together with their pivots [thresholds]; and for the other door, its two leaves and its pivots [thresholds].

31. Verse 31.፴፩

    ወስአለ ፡ ኪሩብ ፡ ወበቀልተ ፡ ወቀፈሉን ፡ በወርቅ ፡ ወአውደይን ፡ እስከ ፡ መድረኮን

    And he carved cherubim and palm-trees, and overlaid them with gold, and laid [the gold] over [it] as far as their thresholds.

32. Verse 32.፴፪

    ወነደቀ ፡ በውስቤ ፡ አጸደ ፡ አረፍት ፡ ዘኢኮን ፡ ውቅር ፡ ወአሕቀፍን ፡ ኩሎ ፡ አውደን ፡ በስሌዳተ ፡ ዕፅ ፡ ዘአርዝ ✣ ክፍል ፡ ፴ ✣

    And he constructed within [it] the enclosure-wall of the court that was not hewn [carved], and he overlaid all its surround with planks of cedar wood. — Section 30. —

33. Verse 33.፴፫

    ወበራብዕ ፡ ዓመት ፡ ሰረር ፡ ለቤተ ፡ እግዚእብሔር ፡ በወርኅ ፡ ኤሳን ፡ በ፲ወ፩ ፡ ዓመት ፡ ወወርኁ ፡ ባእድ ፡ ወውእቱ ፡ ሳምን ፡ ወርኁ ፡ ፈጸመ ፡ ቤተ ፡ ኩሎ ፡ ሕገ ፡ ወኩሎ ፡ ሥርዓቶ ፡ ወሐነፀ ፡ በ፯ ፡ ዓመት

    And in the fourth year [the foundation] was laid for the house of Yahweh, in the month of Esan [Ziv / Bul], in the eleventh year — and the month was another, and it was the eighth — its month, he finished the house, all [according to] its plan and all its ordinance; and he built [it] in seven years.
