- Verse 1.
ወፈነወ ፡ ኪራም ፡ ንተ ፡ ወጢሮስ ፡ አግብርቲሁ ፡ ኀበ ፡ ሰሎምን ፡ ስብእ ፡ ሰምዐ ፡ ኸመ ፡ ቀብእዎ ፡ ኸመ ፡ ይንግሥ ፡ ህየንተ ፡ አቡሁ ፡ ዳዊት ፡ እስመ ፡ ያፈቅሮ ፡ ኪራም ፡ ለዳዊት ፡ በኹሉ ፡ መዋዕሊሁ
And Hiram king of Tyre sent his servants to Solomon, for he had heard that they had anointed him to reign in place of his father David; for Hiram loved David all his days.
- Verse 2.
ወለእከ ፡ ሰሎሞን ፡ ኀበ ፡ ኪራም ፡ እንዘ ፡ ይብል
And Solomon sent to Hiram, saying:
- Verse 3.
አንተ ፡ ተአምር ፡ ለዳዊት ፡ አቡየ ፡ ኸመ ፡ ትስእን ፡ ሐኒፀ ፡ ቤት ፡ ለስመ ፡ እግዚእብሔር ፡ አምላኩ ፡ በእንተ ፡ ፀብእ ፡ ዘዓውዱ ፡ እስኪ ፡ አመ ፡ አግብአሙ ፡ እግዚእብሔር ፡ ታሕተ ፡ መከየደ ፡ እገሪሁ
You know David my father, that he was unable to build a house for the name of Yahweh his God because of the wars round about him, until Yahweh put them under the soles of his feet.
- Verse 4.
ወይእዜኒ ፡ አዕረፈኒ ፡ እግዚእብሔር ፡ አምላኪየ ፡ እምነ ፡ እለ ፡ አውድየ ፡ አልቦ ፡ መስተቃርን ፡ ወአልቦ ፡ ዘያመጽእ ፡ እኪተ
And now Yahweh my God has given me rest from those round about me; there is no adversary and no one who brings harm.
- Verse 5.
ናሁ ፡ እብል ፡ አነ ፡ ኸመ ፡ እሐንጽ ፡ ቤተ ፡ ለስመ ፡ እግዚእብሔር ፡ አምላኪየ ፡ ኸመ ፡ ይቤሎ ፡ እግዚእብሔር ፡ ለዳዊት ፡ አቡየ ፡ ወልድከ ፡ ዘእሁብ ፡ ዘይነብር ፡ ላዕለ ፡ መንበርከ ፡ ህየንቲከ ፡ ውእቱ ፡ የሐንፅ ፡ ቤተ ፡ ለስምየ
Behold, I intend to build a house for the name of Yahweh my God, as Yahweh said to David my father, saying: Your son whom I will set upon your throne in your place, he shall build the house for my name.
- Verse 6.
ወይእዜኒ ፡ አዝዝ ፡ ወይግዝሙ ፡ ሊተ ፡ ዕፀወ ፡ እርዘ ፡ እምሊባኖስ ፡ ወእግብርትየ ፡ ይኩኑ ፡ ምስለ ፡ እግብርቲከ ፡ ወእሁበሙ ፡ ዓስበ ፡ ለእግብርቲከ ፡ በኹሉ ፡ ዘትቤለኒ ፡ እስመ ፡ አንተ ፡ ተአምር ፡ ኸመ ፡ አልብነ ፡ ብእሲ ፡ ዘየአምር ፡ ገዘ ፡ ዕፀ ፡ ኸመ ፡ ስብእ ፡ ሲደናዊ
And now command that they cut for me cedar trees from Lebanon, and let my servants be with your servants, and I will give wages to your servants according to all that you say; for you know that there is no one among us who knows how to cut timber like the Sidonians.
- Verse 7.
ወሰበ ፡ ሰምዓ ፡ ኪራም ፡ ቃለ ፡ ሰሎምን ፡ ተፈሥሐ ፡ ፈድፋደ ፡ ወይቤ ፡ ይትባረክ ፡ እግዚእብሔር ፡ ዘወሀቦ ፡ ለዳዊት ፡ ወልደ ፡ ጠቢበ ፡ ላዕለ ፡ ዝንቱ ፡ ሕዝብ ፡ ብዙኅ
And when Hiram heard the words of Solomon, he rejoiced greatly and said: Blessed be Yahweh, who has given David a wise son over this numerous people.
- Verse 8.
ወለእከ ፡ ኪራም ፡ ኀበ ፡ ሰሎምን ፡ እንዘ ፡ ይብል ፡ ሰማዕኩ ፡ ኹሎ ፡ ዘለአክ ፡ ኀቤየ ፡ አነ ፡ እገብር ፡ ኹሎ ፡ መፍቅደከ ፡ በዕፀወ ፡ እርዝ ፡ ወበዕፀወ ፡ ኪራሲም
And Hiram sent to Solomon, saying: I have heard all that you sent to me; I will do all your desire concerning the cedar timber and the cypress [juniper] timber.
- Verse 9.
እግብርትየ ፡ ይወርዱ ፡ እምሊባኖስ ፡ ውስተ ፡ ባሕር ፡ ወእነ ፡ እሰይም ፡ ሐመረ ፡ ውስተ ፡ ባሕር ፡ እስኪ ፡ መካን ፡ ዘትረኩ ፡ ኀቤየ ፡ ወትትሜጠዉ ፡ እምህየ ፡ ወትንሥእ ፡ እንተ ፡ ወግብር ፡ ፈቃደከ ፡ ወትሁ ፡ ብሲሳየ ፡ ለሰብእ ፡ ቤትየ
My servants shall bring them down from Lebanon to the sea, and I will make them into rafts [set them as a fleet] on the sea, to the place that you appoint for me, and I will deliver them there [break them apart there], and you shall take them; and you, do my desire, by giving food for my household.
- Verse 10.
ወወሀበ ፡ ኪራም ፡ ለሰሎምን ፡ ዕፀወ ፡ እርዝ ፡ ወዕፀ ፡ በርሲም ፡ ወኹሎ ፡ ዘፈቀደ
And Hiram gave Solomon cedar timber and cypress timber, and all that he desired.
- Verse 11.
ወሰሎምን ፡ ወሀበ ፡ ለኪራም ፡ ፳ ፻ ፡ በመስፈርተ ፡ ቆርስ ፡ ስርናየ ፡ በመስፈርተ ፡ ቤቱ ፡ ወ ፳ ፡ ቆርስ ፡ ቀብእ ፡ ዘይት ፡ ቅድወ ፡ ኸመዝ ፡ የሁብ ፡ ሰሎምን ፡ ለኪራም ፡ በበ ፡ እመት
And Solomon gave Hiram two thousand measures of wheat as food for his household, and twenty measures of pure beaten olive oil; thus Solomon would give to Hiram year by year.
- Verse 12.
ወወሀቦ ፡ እግዚእብሔር ፡ ጥበበ ፡ ለሰሎምን ፡ በከመ ፡ ይቤሎ ፡ ወኮነ ፡ ሰላም ፡ ማእከለ ፡ ሰሎምን ፡ ወማእከለ ፡ ኪራም ፡ ወተካየዱ ፡ ኪዳነ ፡ ጽኑዓ
And Yahweh gave Solomon wisdom, as he had promised him; and there was peace between Solomon and Hiram, and the two of them made a firm covenant.
- Verse 13.
ወገብረ ፡ ንጉሥ ፡ ሰሎምን ፡ ፀዋርያነ ፡ እምኩሉ ፡ እስራኤል ፡ ወኮኑ ፡ ፀዋርያን ፡ ፸ ፻ ፡ ብእሲ ፡ ወይፀኑ ፡ እምኔሆሙ
And King Solomon raised up bearers of burdens [a levy] out of all Israel, and the bearers numbered seven thousand men, and they labored from among them.
- Verse 14.
ደይ ፡ ውስተ ፡ ሊባኖስ ፡ በ ፩ ፡ ወርኁ ፡ ወያስተባቅርዮሙ ፡ ኸመ ፡ የህልዉ ፡ ፪ ፡ ወርኃ ፡ ውስተ ፡ ሊባኖስ ፡ ወ ፪ ፡ ወርኃ ፡ የህልዉ ፡ ውስቲ ፡ አብያቲሆሙ ፡ ወእዶኒራም ፡ መልአክ ፡ በዐርያን
[He sent them] to Lebanon, in one month [by shifts], and he relieved them, so that they would be two months in Lebanon and two months in their own houses; and Adoniram was over the bearers of burdens.
- Verse 15.
ወቦ ፡ ለሰሎምን ፡ ፸ ፻ ፡ በዐሬ ፡ አርሶን ፡ ወ ፹ ፻ ፡ ወቀርት ፡ እለ ፡ ውስተ ፡ ደብር
And Solomon had seven thousand who bore burdens, and eight thousand stonecutters [hewers] who were in the mountain,
- Verse 16.
ዘዘኀበ ፡ ንበለ ፡ ስዶማን ፡ መላእክት ፡ ሣዕለ ፡ ግብሪ ፡ ሰሎምን
besides those who were apart from the officers [governors], over the work of Solomon.
- Verse 17.
ወዓሥርዩ ፡ እለ ፡ የዓርት ፡ ውስተ ፡ ደብር ፡ ወይወርዱ ፡ ኸመ ፡ ይግበሩ ፡ ግብሮሙ ፡ ወእዘዘ ፡ ንጉሥ ፡ ያምጽኡ ፡ ዓበይተ ፡ እእባነ ፡ ወሠናያነ ፡ ለሐኒጸ ፡ ቤት ፡ እብነ ፡ ዘኢኮነ ፡ ውቁረ
And [the king commanded], and they hewed in the mountain and brought down [stones], that they might do their work; and the king commanded them to bring great and goodly stones for the building of the house, hewn stone [stone that was not yet dressed].
- Verse 18.
ወወቀርጾን ፡ ደቁ ፡ ሰሎምን ፡ ወደቁ ፡ ኪራም ፡ ወሐገብሊም ፡ ወአስተዳለዉ ፡ ዕፀ ፡ ወአእባነ ፡ ለሐኒጸ ፡ ቤት
And the builders of Solomon and the builders of Hiram and the Gebalites [the Giblites / men of Byblos] dressed [them], and they prepared the timber and the stones for the building of the house.
