፪

1. Verse 1.፩

   ወቀርቦ ፡ መዋዕሊሁ ፡ ለዳዊት ፣ ለመዊት ፣ ወእዘዘ ፡ ለስሎሞን ፡ ወልዱ ፣ እንዘ ፡ ይብል ፣ እንስ ፡ ሐርኩ ፡ በኵሉ ፡ ፍናተ ፣ ምድር ፣ ወእንተስ ፡ ባሕቱ ፣ ጻናዕ ፡ ወኩን ፡ ብእሴ ✣

   And the days of David drew near for him to die, and he charged Solomon his son, saying: I am going the way of all the earth; but you, be strong and be a man.

2. Verse 2.፪

   ወዕቀብ ፡ ትእዛዘ ፡ እግዚእብሔር ፡ እምላክከ ፡ ከመ ፡ ትሐር ፡ በፍናቱ ፣ ወዕቀብ ፡ ሕገ ፡ ወትእዛዘ ፡ ወኵነኔሁ ፣ ወፍትሐ ፡ በከመ ፡ ጻሕፉ ፡ ውስተ ፡ ሕገ ፡ ሙሴ ፡ ከመ ፡ ታእምር ፡ ወትግበር ፡ ኵሎ ፣ ዘከመ ፡ እዘዘክ ፣

   And keep the charge of Yahweh your God, to walk in his ways, and keep his statute and his commandment and his ordinances and his judgment, as it is written in the law of Moses, that you may understand and do all that I have commanded you.

3. Verse 3.፫

   ከመ ፡ ያቅም ፡ ቃሎ ፡ እግዚእብሔር ፡ ዘከመ ፡ ነበበ ፡ ኀቤየ ፡ እንዘ ፡ ይብል ፣ ለእመ ፡ ዓቀቡ ፣ ደቂቅከ ፡ ፍናቶሙ ፣ ወ ፡ ሐሩ ፡ ቅድሜየ ፣ በጽድቅ ፡ በኵሉ ፡ ልቦሙ ፣ ወበኵሉ ፡ ነፍሶሙ ፣ ይቤ ፣ ኢ ፡ ይኄረው ፡ ለከ ፡ ብእሲ ፣ እመልዕልተ ፡ መንበረ ፡ እስራኤል ፡ ወስሊክ ፡ ተአምር ፡ ኵሎ ፡ ዘከመ ፡ ረሰየኒ ፣ እዮእብ ፡ ወልደ ፡ ሱርሕያ ፣ ወእቱ ፡ ገብረ ፡ ላዕሌየ ፣ ወላዕለ ፣ ፪ ፣ መላእክት ፣ ኃየላን ፡ እስራኤል ፡ ላዕለ ፡ አበኔር ፡ ወልደ ፡ ኔር ፡ ወላዕለ ፡ አሜሳይ ፣ ወልደ ፣ ያቴር ፣ ወቀተሎሙ ፣ ወእግብእ ፡ ደሙ ፡ ዐር ፡ ላዕለ ፡ ሕየወቱ ፡ ውስተ ፡ ሕቄሁ ፣ ወበእሣእኑ ፣ ዘውስተ ፡ እግሩ ፣ ወትግብር ፡ በከመ ፡ ጥበብከ ፣ ወአንተ ፡ ታወርድ ፡ ሲበቶ ፡ በደም ፣ ውስተ ፡ መቃብር

   that Yahweh may confirm his word which he spoke concerning me, saying: If your children keep their ways, and walk before me in truth with all their heart and with all their soul, he said, there shall never be cut off for you a man from upon the throne of Israel. And you also know what Joab son of Zeruiah did to me, what he did against me, and against the two commanders of the host of Israel, against Abner son of Ner and against Amasa son of Jether, and how he killed them, and shed the blood of war [in time of peace], and put it upon the belt that was about his waist and on the sandals that were on his feet. And you shall do according to your wisdom, and you shall not let his gray head go down to the grave in peace [you shall bring his gray head down with blood to the grave].

4. Verse 4.፬

   ወለደዊቀ ፡ ቤርዜሊ ፡ ገልአዓዊ ፡ ትገብር ፡ ምሕረተ ፡ ወይኩኑ ፡ ምስለ ፡ እለ ፡ ይበልሙ ፡ ማእደከ ፡ እስመ ፡ ውእቱ ፡ ቀረበኒ ፡ አሜ ፡ እትኃጥእ ፡ እምገጸ ፡ አበሴሎም ፡ እኁከ ፡ ወናሁ ፡ ኀቤከ ፡ ሳሜ ፡ ወልደ ፡ ጌራ ፡ ወልደ ፡ ብንያም ፡ እምነ ፡ ወራዙት ፡ ወውእቱ ፡ ረገመኒ ፡ መርገመ ፡ እኩየ ፡ አሜ ፡ መዋዕለ ፡ አሐውር ፡ ምናሔም ፡ ውእቱ ፡ ወረደ ፡ ውስተ ፡ ዮርዳኖስ ፡ ወተቀበለኒ ፡ ወመሐልኩ ፡ ሉቱ ፡ በእግዚእብሔር ፡ እንዘ ፡ እብል ፡ ከመ ፡ ኢይቀተልከ ፡ በሐቀን ✣

   And to the sons of Barzillai the Gileadite show kindness, and let them be among those who eat at your table, for so they drew near to me in the day when I fled from before Absalom your brother. And behold, with you is Shimei son of Gera son of Benjamin from the young men, and he cursed me with a grievous curse in the day when I went to Mahanaim; but he came down to the Jordan and met me, and I swore to him by Yahweh, saying: I will not put you to death by the sword.

5. Verse 5.፭

   ወይእዜኒ ፡ ኢታንጸሐ ፡ እስመ ፡ ጠቢብ ፡ አንተ ፡ አእምር ፡ ዘከመ ፡ ትሬስየ ፡ አንተ ፡ ወታወርድ ፡ ሲበቶ ፡ ደም ፡ ውስተ ፡ መቃብር ።።

   And now do not hold him guiltless, for you are a wise man; you know what you ought to do to him, and you shall bring his gray head down with blood to the grave.

6. Verse 6.፮

   ወስከበ ፣ ዳዊት ፣ ምስለ ፡ አበዊሁ ፣ ወተቀብረ ፣ ውስተ ፡ ሀገረ ፣ ዳዊት ✣

   And David slept with his fathers, and was buried in the city of David.

7. Verse 7.፯

   ወመዋዕሊሁ ፣ ዘነግሠ ፣ ዳዊት ፡ ላዕለ ፣ እስራኤል ፣ ፵ ፡ ዓመት ፡ በኬብሮን ፣ ነግሠ ፣ ፯ ፡ ዓመት ፣ በኢየሩሳ ፡ ሌም ፡ ፴ ፡ ወሣለስተ ፣ ዓመተ ✣ ወስሎሞን ፣ ነበረ ፣ ውስተ ፡ መንበረ ፣ ዳዊት ፣ አቡሁ ፣ ወጸንዓት ፡ መንግሥቱ ፣ ፈድፋደ

   And the days that David reigned over Israel were forty years: in Hebron he reigned seven years, and in Jerusalem thirty and three years. And Solomon sat upon the throne of David his father, and his kingdom was greatly established.

8. Verse 8.፰

   ወቦአ ፣ እደንያስ ፣ ወልደ ፡ አጊት ፡ ኀበ ፡ ቤርሳቤሕ ፣ እመ ፡ ስሎሞን ፣ ወትቤሎ ፣ ሰላም ፡ ለምጸእትከ ፣ ወይቤ ፡ ሰላም ✣

   And Adonijah son of Haggith came in to Bathsheba the mother of Solomon, and she said to him: Is your coming peaceful? And he said: It is peace.

9. Verse 9.፱

   ወይቤ ፣ ብየ ፣ ትካዝ ። ኀቤከ ፣ ወትቤሎ ፣ ንግረኒ ፣ ወይቤላ ፣ አንተ ፡ ተአምሪ ፡ ከመ ፡ ሊተ ፣ ኮነተ ፣ መንግሥት ፣ ወኀቤየ ፡ ገብእ ፣ ገጾሙ ፡ ለኵሎሙ ፡ እስራኤል ፡ ከመ ፡ ያንግሡኒ ፣ ወትመየጠት ፣ መንግሥት ፡ ወኮነት ፡ ለእኁየ ፣ እስመ ፡ እምኀበ ፡ እግዚእብሔር ፡ ኮነት ፡ ሎቱ ✣

   And he said: I have a matter with you. And she said to him: Speak. And he said to her: You know that the kingdom was mine, and toward me all Israel had turned their faces to make me king; but the kingdom turned away and became my brother's, for it was from Yahweh that it became his.

10. Verse 10.፲

    ወይእዜኒ ፡ አሐተ ፡ ስእለተ ፡ አነ ፡ እስእል ፡ እምኀቤኪ ፣ ወኢትሚጢ ፡ ገጸኪ ፣ ወትቤሎ ፡ ተናገር ፣ ወይቤላ ፡ በልዮ ፣ ለስሎሞን ፣ ንጉሥ ፣ ከመ ፡ ኢይመይጥ ፣ ገጸ ፡ እምኔከ ፣ ወየሀበኒ ፣ እቢሳጊ ፡ ሰሜናዊተ ፡ ከመ ፡ ትኩነኒ ፡ ብእሲተ ✣

    And now I ask one request of you; do not turn away my face [refuse me]. And she said to him: Speak. And he said to her: Say to Solomon the king — for he will not turn his face from you — that he give me Abishag the Shunammite to be my wife.

11. Verse 11.፲፩

    ወትቤ ፡ በርሳቤሕ ፣ ሠናይ ፣ ወአነ ፣ እንግር ፣ ለንጉሥ ፡ በእንቲአከ ።። ወቦእት ፡ በርሳቤሕ ፣ ኀበ ፡ ንጉሥ ።

    And Bathsheba said: Very well; I will speak to the king on your behalf. And Bathsheba went in to the king,

12. Verse 12.፲፪

    ስሎሞን ፡ ከመ ፡ ትንግር ፣ በእንተ ፡ አደንያስ ፣ ወተንሥአ ፡ ንጉሥ ፡ ወተቀበላ ፡ ወትምኃ ፣ ወነበረ ፣ ውስተ ፡ መንበሩ ፣ ወአንበሩ ፣ መንበረ ፡ ለእሙ ፡ ወነበረት ፡ በየማኑ ፡ ለንጉሥ ፣ ወትቤሎ ፡ አሐተ ፣ ስእለተ ፡ አነ ፡ እስእል ፡ እምኀቤከ ፣ ወኢትሚጥ ፣ ገጸከ ፣ እምኔየ ፣ ወይቤላ ፡ ንጉሥ ፣ ስአሊ ፡ እምኔየ ፣ ወኢይመይጥ ፡ ገጸየ ፣ እምኔኪ ✣

    [to] Solomon, to speak to him concerning Adonijah. And the king rose up to meet her and bowed [kissed] her, and sat upon his throne, and a throne was set for the king's mother, and she sat at his right hand. And she said to him: I ask one small request of you; do not turn your face from me. And the king said to her: Ask, mother; for I will not turn my face from you.

13. Verse 13.፲፫

    ወትቤሎ ፡ የሀብዎ ፣ እቢሳጊ ፣ ሰሜናዊተ ፡ ለእደንያስ ፣ እኁከ ፣ ከመ ፡ ትኩኖ ፣ ብእሲተ ✣

    And she said to him: Let Abishag the Shunammite be given to Adonijah your brother to be his wife.

14. Verse 14.፲፬

    ወአውሥአ ፡ ስሎሞን ፣ ንጉሥ ፣ ወይቤላ ፡ ለእሙ ፣ ለምንት ፡ ትስእሊ ፣ ሎቱ ፣ እቢሳጊ ፣ ለእደንያስ ፣ ወስእሊ ፡ ሎቱ ፣ መንግሥተ ፡ እስመ ፡ ውእቱ ፡ ዘየልሕቀኒ ፣ ወምስሌሁ ፣ እብያታር ፣ ካህን ፣ ወኢዮአብ ፣ ወልደ ፡ ሱርሕያ ።።

    And Solomon the king answered and said to his mother: Why do you ask Abishag for Adonijah? Ask for him the kingdom as well, for he is my elder brother, and with him are Abiathar the priest and Joab son of Zeruiah!

15. Verse 15.፲፭

    ወመሐለ ፣ ንጉሥ ፡ ስሎሞን ፣ በእግዚእብሔር ፡ እንዘ ፣ ይብል ፣ ከመዝ ፣ ለይረስየኒ ፣ እግዚእብሔር ፡ ወከመዝ ፣ ለይቅትለኒ ፡ ከመ ፡ ለዕለ ፣ ነፍሱ ፣ ነበበ ፡ አደንያስ ፣ ዘንተ ፣ ነገረ ✣

    And Solomon the king swore by Yahweh, saying: Thus may Yahweh do to me, and thus may he add, if Adonijah has not spoken this word against his own life.

16. Verse 16.፲፮

    ወይእዜኒ ፣ ሕያው ፣ እግዚእብሔር ፡ ዘሄሜኒ ፡ ወአንበረኒ ፡ ውስተ ፡ መንበረ ፣ ዳዊት ፣ አቡየ ፣ ወገብረ ፡ ሊተ ፡ ቤተ ፡ በከመ ፡ ነበበ ፡ እስመ ፡ ዮም ፣ ይመውት ፡ አደንያስ ፣ ወለእኬ ፡ ስሎሞን ፣ ንጉሥ ፣ በእደ ፣ ብንያስ ፡ ወልደ ፡ ዮዳሔ ፡ ወረገዞ ፣ ወሞተ ✣

    And now, as Yahweh lives, who has established me and set me upon the throne of David my father, and has made me a house as he promised, this day shall Adonijah be put to death. And King Solomon sent by the hand of Benaiah son of Jehoiada, and he struck him, and he died.

17. Verse 17.፲፯

    ወለእብያታር ፣ ካህን ፡ ይቤሎ ፡ ስሎሞን ፡ ንጉሥ ፣ እምድኀሬ ፣ ኩን ፣ አንተኒ ፣ ግባእ ፣ ውስተ ፡ አናቶት ፣ ኀበ ፡ ገራህትከ ፣ እስመ ፣ ብእሴ ፡ ሞት ፡ አንተ ፣ በዛቲ ፣ ዕለት ፣ ኢይቀትለከ ፣ እስመ ፡ ነሣእከ ፣ ታበተ ፡ እግዚእብሔር ፡ ቅድሜሁ ፣ ለዳዊት ፣ አቡየ ፡ እስመ ፡ ሐመምክ ፣ በኩሉ ፣ ሕማም ፡ አቡየ ፣ ወብዓር ፡ ሰሎሞን ፣ ለእብያታር ፣ ከመ ፣ ኢይኩን ፣ ካህነ ፣ ለእግዚእብሔር ፣ ከመ ፡ ይብጻሕ ፡ ቃለ ፡ እግዚእብሔር ። ዘ ነበበ ፡ ላዕለ ፡ ቤተ ፣ ኤሊ ፡ በሴሎም

    And to Abiathar the priest Solomon the king said: Go to Anathoth, to your fields, for you are a man worthy of death; but on this day I will not put you to death, because you carried the ark of Yahweh before David my father, and because you suffered in all that my father suffered. And Solomon banished Abiathar from being priest to Yahweh, that the word of Yahweh might be fulfilled which he had spoken concerning the house of Eli in Shiloh.

18. Verse 18.፲፰

    ወበጽሓ ፡ ኢያእብ ፣ ወልደ ፡ ሱርሕያ ፣ እስመ ፡ ኢያእብ ፣ ኀብረ ፡ ምስለ ፡ አደንያስ ፣ ወምስለ ፡ አበሴሎም ፣ ኢኀብረ ፣ ወእተለም ፡ ወጕየ ፡ ኢያእብ ፡ ውስተ ፡ ቤተ ፣ እግዚእብሔር ፣ ወተማኀጸነ ፣ በእቅርንተ ፣ ምሥዋዕ ፣ ወእይድዕዎ ፣ ለስሎሞን ንጉሥ ፣ እስመ ፡ ጐየ ፣ ኢያእብ ፣ ወቦአ ፣ ውስተ ፡ ቤተ ፡ እግዚእብሔር ፣ ከመ ፡ ተማኀጸ ብእቅርንተ ፣ ምሥዋዕ ፣ ወለአከ ፡ ስሎሞን ፣ ኀበ ፡ ኢያእብ ፣ እንዘ ፡ ይብል ፣ ምንተ ፣ ኮንከ ፣ ዘተማኀጸንከ ፡ በእቅርንተ ፡ ምሥዋዕ ፣ ወይቤሉ ፡ ኢያእብ ፣ እስመ ፡ ፈራህኩ ፣ ተማኀጸንኩ ፡ በእግዚእብሔር ፣ ወለእኬ ፡ ስሎሞን ፣ ለብንያስ ፣ ወልደ ፣ ዮዳሔ ፣ ኀበ ፡ ኢያእብ ፣ እንዘ ፣ ይብል ፣ ሐር ፡ ወቅትሎ ፣ ወቦአ ፣ ብንያስ ፣ ኀበ ፡ ቤተ ፡ እግዚእብሔር ፣ ወይቤሉ ፣ ከመዝ ፣ ይቤ ፣ ንጉሥ ፣ ጻእ ፣ ወይቤሉ ፡ ኢያእብ ፣ እኢወፅእ ፣ አላ ፣ እመውት ፣ በዝየ ፣ ወገብእ ፣ ብንያስ ፣ ኀበ ፡ ንጉሥ ፣ ከመዝ ፣ ይቤለኒ ፣ ኢያእብ ፡ ወይቤሉ ፣ ንጉሥ ፣ ሐር ፣ ወግበር ፡ በከመ ፣ ነበበ ፡ ወቅትሎ ፣ ወቅብር ፣ ወተሴስል ፣ ዮም ፣ እምኀቤየ ፣ ዘበከንቱ ፣ ከዓወ ፣ ኢያእብ ፣ እምቤተ ፣ አቡየ ።። ወአግብአ ፡ እግዚእብሔር ፣ ደሞ ፡ ወመዓሁ ፣ ላዕለ ፡ ርእሱ ፣ በከመ ፣ ገብረ ፣ ላዕለ ፡ ክልኤ ፣ እደው ፣ ጻድቃን ፣ ወኄራን ፣ እለ ፡ ይሔሱ ፣ እምነዘ ፣ ወቀተሎሙ ፣ በሐዲን ፣ ወአቡየስ ፣ ዳዊት ።

    And the report reached Joab son of Zeruiah — for Joab had sided with Adonijah, though with Absalom he had not sided — and Joab fled to the tent [house] of Yahweh and took refuge by the horns of the altar. And they told Solomon the king that Joab had fled and had come into the tent of Yahweh, and behold, he was by the horns of the altar. And Solomon sent to Joab, saying: What has happened to you, that you have taken refuge by the horns of the altar? And Joab said: Because I was afraid, I took refuge in Yahweh. And Solomon sent Benaiah son of Jehoiada to Joab, saying: Go and kill him. And Benaiah came to the tent of Yahweh and said to him: Thus says the king: Come out. And Joab said: I will not come out, but I will die here. And Benaiah returned to the king, saying: Thus Joab said to me, and thus he answered me. And the king said: Go, do as he has said; kill him and bury him, and remove this day from me the blood that Joab shed without cause, from the house of my father. And Yahweh has returned his blood upon his own head, for he fell upon two men more righteous and better than he, and killed them with the sword, while my father David did not know it —

19. Verse 19.፲፱

    ኢያእመሬ ፣ ደሞሙ ፣ አበኔር ፣ ወልደ ፣ ኔር ፣ መልአክ ፣ ኀይሎሙ ፣ ለእስራኤል ፣ ወአሚሳሕ ፣ ወልደ ፣ ኢያቴር ፣ መልአክ ፣ ኀይሎሙ ፣ ለይሁዳ ፣ ወይገብእ ፣ ደሞሙ ፣ ላዕለ ፣ ርእሱ ፣ ኢያእብ ፣ ወላዕለ ፣ ዘርኡ ፣ እስከ ፡ ለዓለም ፣ ወለዳዊትሕ ፣ ወለዘርኡ ፣ ወለቤቱ ፣ ወለመንበሩ ፣ ይኩውን ፣ ሰላም ፣ እምኀበ ፡ እግዚእብሔር ፣ እስከ ፣ ለዓለም ፣ ወዓርገ ፣ ብንያስ ፣ ወልደ ፣ ዮዳሔ ፣ ወረገዞ ፣ ወቀተሎ ፣ ወቀበር ፣ ውስተ ፡ ቤቱ ፣ ወረሰዮ ፣ ንጉሥ ፣ ለብንያስ ፣ ወልደ ፣ ዮዳሔ ፣ ህየንቴሁ ፣ ለኢያእብ ፣ መልአክ ፣ ኀይል ፣ ወለሳዶቅ ፣ ካህን ፣ ሤሞ ፣ ሊቀ ፣ ካህናት ፣ ንጉሥ ፣ ህየንተ ፣ አብያታር ✣

    [that is,] their blood: Abner son of Ner, commander of the host of Israel, and Amasa son of Jether, commander of the host of Judah. And his blood shall return upon the head of Joab and upon his seed forever; but to David and to his seed and to his house and to his throne there shall be peace from Yahweh forever. And Benaiah son of Jehoiada went up and struck him and killed him and buried him in his own house. And the king set Benaiah son of Jehoiada in his place over the army, [as] commander of the host, and Zadok the priest the king appointed chief of the priests in place of Abiathar.

20. Verse 20.፳

    ወለአከ ፣ ንጉሥ ፣ ወጸውዓ ፣ ለሳሚ ፣ ወይቤሎ ፣ እንድቅ ፣ ለከ ፣ ቤተ ፣ በውስተ ፣ ኢያሩሳሌም ፣ ወንበር ፣ ህየ ፣ ወኢትፃእ ፣ እምህየ ፣ ለፀሪ ፣ ወለፀሪ ፣ ወእመ ፣ ዕለተ ፣ ትወፅእ ፣ ወተዓዱ ፣ ፈለገ ፣ ቄድሮን ፣ አእምር ፣ ከመ ፣ ሞተ ፣ ትመውት ፣ ወደምከ ፣ ይኩውን ፣ ላዕለ ፣ ርእስከ ✣

    And the king sent and called Shimei, and said to him: Build yourself a house in Jerusalem, and dwell there, and do not go out from there to anywhere at all; and on the day that you go out and cross the brook Kidron, know that you shall surely die, and your blood shall be upon your own head.

21. Verse 21.፳፩

    ወአምሐለ ፣ ንጉሥ ፣ ይእተ ፣ እሚረ ፣ ወይቤሉ ፣ ሳሚ ፣ ለንጉሥ ፣ ሠናይ ፣ ነበብከ ፣ ቃለ ፣ እግዚእየ ፣ ንጉሥ ፣ ወከማሁ ፣ ይገብር ፣ ገብርከ ፣ ወነበረ ፣ ሳሚ ፣ ውስተ ፣ ኢያሩሳሌም ፣ ብዙኀ ፣ መዋዕለ

    And the king made him swear that day; and Shimei said to the king: Good is the word you have spoken, my lord the king; so will your servant do. And Shimei dwelt in Jerusalem many days.

22. Verse 22.፳፪

    ወእምዝ ፣ እምድኀረ ፣ ፫ ፣ ዓመት ፣ ተኀጥአ ፣ ክልኤቱ ፣ አግብርቲሁ ፣ ለሳሚ ፣ ኀበ ፣ እንኩስ ፣ ወልደ ፣ ሚካ ፣ ንጉሥ ፣ ጌት ፣ ወአይድዕዎ ፣ ለሳሚ ፣ ወይቤልዎ ፣ ናሁ ፣ ህለዉ ፣ አግብርቲከ ፣ ውስተ ፣ ጌት ፣ ወተንሥአ ፣ ሳሚ ፣ ወጸዓነ ፣ አድገ ፣ ወሐረ ፣ ውስተ ፣ ጌት ፣ ኀበ ፣ እንኪስ ፣ ከመ ፣ የኀሥሥ ፣ አግብርሁ ፣ እምነ ፣ ጌት

    And then, after three years, two of Shimei's servants escaped to Achish son of Maacah, king of Gath, and they told Shimei, saying: Behold, your servants are in Gath. And Shimei rose and saddled a donkey and went to Gath, to Achish, to seek his servants from Gath [and brought back his servants from Gath].

23. Verse 23.፳፫

    ወአይድዕዎ ፣ ለስሎሞን ፣ ወይቤልዎ ፣ ሐረ ፣ ሳሚ ፣ እምኢያሩሳሌም ፣ ውስተ ፣ ጌት ፣ ወእተሞ ፣ ለእግብርቲሁ ፣ ወለእከ ፣ ንጉሥ ፣ ወጸውዕዎ ፣ ለሳሚ ፣ ወይቤሎ ፣ አኮኑ ፣ አምሐልኩኩ ፣ በእግዚእብሔር ፣ ወአስማዕኩ ፣ ለከ ፣ እንዘ ፣ እብል ፣ አሜ ፣ ትወፅእ ፣ እምኢያሩሳሌም ፣ ወተሐውር ፣ አው ፣ ለየማን ፣ አው ፣ ለፀጋም ፣ አእምር ፣ ከመ ፣ ሞተ ፣ ትመውት ፣ ወትቤለኒ ፣ ሠናይ ፣ ውእቱ ፣ ዝንቱ ፣ ነገር ፣ እስምዕ ✣

    And they told Solomon, saying: Shimei has gone from Jerusalem to Gath, and has brought back his servants. And the king sent and called Shimei, and said to him: Did I not make you swear by Yahweh, and warn you, saying: On the day that you go out from Jerusalem and travel anywhere, to the right or to the left, know that you shall surely die? And you said to me: Good is this word; I have heard.

24. Verse 24.፳፬

    ወእፎ ፣ ኢአቀብከ ፣ ማሕላሁ ፣ ለእግዚእብሔር ፣ ወትእዛዝየ ፣ ዘአዘዝኩከ ፣ ለከ ።።

    Why then have you not kept the oath of Yahweh, and my commandment which I commanded you?

25. Verse 25.፳፭

    ወይቤሎ ፣ ንጉሥ ፣ ለሳሚ ፣ ለሊከ ፣ ተአምር ፣ ኵሎ ፣ እከየከ ፣ ወየአምር ፣ ልብከ ፣ ዘገበርከ ፣ ላዕለ ፣ ዳዊት ፣ አቡየ ፣ ወእግብእ ፣ እግዚእብሔር ፣ እከየከ ፣ ላዕለ ፣ ርእስከ ✣

    And the king said to Shimei: You yourself know all the evil that your heart knows you did to David my father, and Yahweh has returned your evil upon your own head.

26. Verse 26.፳፮

    ወስሎሞንስ ፣ ቡሩክ ፣ ንጉሥ ፣ ወመንበረ ፣ ዳዊትኒ ፣ ይኩውን ፣ ድልወ ። ቅድመ ፣ እግዚእብሔር ፣ እስከ ፣ ለዓለም ✣

    But King Solomon is blessed, and the throne of David shall be established before Yahweh forever.

27. Verse 27.፳፯

    ወአዘዘ ፣ ስሎሞን ፣ ንጉሥ ፣ ለብንያስ ፣ ወልደ ፣ ዮዳሔ ፣ ይቅትሎ ፣ ለሳሚ ፣ ወወዕአ ፣ ወቀተሎ ✣ ወጸንዓት ፣ መንግሥቱ ፣ ለስሎሞን

    And Solomon the king commanded Benaiah son of Jehoiada to kill Shimei, and he went out and killed him. And the kingdom of Solomon was established.
