መዝሙር ፻፶፩

1. Verse 1.፩

   መዝሙር ፡ ዘርእሱ ፡ ዘዳዊት ፡ ዘጸሐፈ ፤ ወውፁእ ፡ ውእቱ ፡ እምኈልቍ ፤ ዘአመ ፡ ይትበሐቶ ፡ ወይትበአስ ፡ ምስለ ፡ ጎልያድ ፡ ወይቤ ። ንኡስ ፡ አነ ፡ እምአኀውየ ፡ ወወሬዛ ፡ በቤተ ፡ አቡየ ፤ ወእሬዒ ፡ አባግዐ ፡ አቡየ ።

   A psalm written by David's own hand, and it is outside the number; concerning the time when he contended in single combat and fought with Goliath, and he said: I was small among my brothers, and a youth in my father's house; and I tended my father's sheep.

2. Verse 2.፪

   እደውየ ፡ ይገብራ ፡ መሰንቆ ፤ ወአጻብዕየ ፡ ያስተዋድዳ ፡ መዝሙረ ።

   My hands made a harp; and my fingers tuned a psaltery.

3. Verse 3.፫

   መኑ ፡ ነገሮ ፡ ለእግዚእየ ፤ ውእቱ ፡ እግዚአብሔር ፡ ውእቱ ፡ ሰምዐኒ ።

   Who told it to my Lord? He, Yahweh, he himself heard me.

4. Verse 4.፬

   ውእቱ ፡ ፈነወ ፡ መልአኮ ፡ ወአድኀነኒ ፤ ወነሥአኒ ፡ እምአባግዐ ፡ አቡየ ፡ ወቀብአኒ ፡ ቅብአ ፡ ቅዱሰ ።

   He sent his angel and delivered me; and he took me from my father's sheep, and anointed me with the holy anointing oil.

5. Verse 5.፭

   አኀውየሰ ፡ ሠናያን ፡ ወልሂቃን ፤ ወኢሠምረ ፡ ቦሙ ፡ እግዚአብሔር ።

   My brothers were handsome and tall; but Yahweh took no pleasure in them.

6. Verse 6.፮

   ወወፃእኩ ፡ ለተኣኅዞቲ ፡ ለሕዝብ ፡ ነኪር ፤ ወረገመኒ ፡ በአማልክቲሁ ፡ ርኩሳን ።

   And I went out to meet the foreigner of an alien people; and he cursed me by his unclean idols.

7. Verse 7.፯

   ወአንሰ ፡ ነሣእኩ ፡ ሠለስተ ፡ አእባነ ፡ ወወጸፍክዎ ፡ ውስተ ፡ ፍጽሙ ፡ ወሞተ ። ወዓዲ ፡ ነሣእኩ ፡ ዘእምላዕሌሁ ፡ ሰይፈ ፡ ወመተርኩ ፡ ርእሶ ፤ ወአሰሰልኩ ፡ ጽእለተ ፡ እምደቂቀ ፡ እስራኤል ። ተፈጸመ ፡ ዳዊት ።

   But I took three stones and slung at him, into his forehead, and he died. And further I took the sword from off him and cut off his head; and I removed reproach from the children of Israel. David is ended.
